Hi all, I'm installing Hylafax on my Asterisk system. From what I've read, I can either use IAXModem or T38Modem to provide the virtual fax device. So at the risk of starting a religious war, which one should I use? I don't mind running IAX if I have to. I want as much flexibility and stability as I can get. So, what are your recommendations? Dear list, I need to setup asterisk to send and receibe fax. I just looking about SpanDSP, Hylafax/Iaxmodem, AsterFax,...etc. The asterisk box has Digium hardware, one TE420B and one TDM2402 (8 FXO ports). I just read the SpanDSP (txfax and rxfax) makes the system more unstable that Hylafax/Iaxmodem. And the Asterfax solution does dislike cause its licensing. The TE420B, is configured in E1

Hi, I'm trying to get T.38 passthrough to work to T38Modem and Hylafax so I can terminate T.38 faxes from an ATA. However I haven't had much luck. I've tried two supposedly T.38 capable ATAs, the Grandstream 206 and the 502. The 286 seems to connect to T38Modem, but Hylafax doesn't get any fax data. The 502 never even gets fax tones from Hylafax, so it seems like its t.38 is broken

On the subject of faxing - is there a way to interface Asterisk and Hylafax running on the same box? Hi, I think this is one area that needs to be developed. I am curently implementing a system for my home so cannot really justify the cost of financially supporting the development of this when all I really need to do is buy a telephone extension lead for my existing fax modem!!! I am more than willing to devote some testing/documentation time (I am not really a programmer) if that helps.
