RE: Asterisk-Users Digest, Vol 22, Issue 132
I haven't intentionally done anything to the CID, the odd thing is that
another aastra phone (480e) connected to the same port DOES display CID,
it's only these PT350s that can't seem to read it.. Been talking to Aastra
support & they've suggested some avenues to explore, but none of them have
worked... The PT350s definitely have a problem w/*'s cid signals.. Just not

Which ADSI phones to buy?
I just need to buy 5-6 ADSI Phones.
I wondering which of these models to choose
- aastra 390 - I don't know is this an ADSI phone at all. Is there versions with and without ADSI
- aastra 350 - I'm sure that it have ADSI.
If there is some other good working model, it will be great, if someone points me.
Thanks

OT: Aastra Powertouch 350 caller id
Hi all, is anyone using the Aastra Powertouch 350 analog (adsi) phone with
asterisk? I cannot get the phone to display incoming caller id... I can see
the CID if I hook up a cheap caller id enabled phone... Only the PT350 is
having problems. Looking all over for docs on this phone, but what I've
found doesn't have any mention of a setting to display CID...
Thx as always

Nortel PowerTouch 350

350 from http://lktelecom.zoovy.com/product/HPT350. I have been reading
some posts and heard that these phones won't work with Asterisk.. Is
this true? I had a previous Nortel Phone working in this enviroment.
Well anyway here's my problem. The phone keeps ringing.. It won't
stop.. Which makes the phone

ADSI - PowerTouch 350
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with PowerTouch 350 &
ADSI.
I am able to configure the phone with ADSI.. Which is pretty cool in it
self. But I have a question regarding the Service feature. I have to
choose the service button and choose the Asterisk PBX ADSI. But let's
say I make a call it does not default back to this. I have to go back
into Services and choose it

ADSI Analogue phones
I'm trying to work out whether I want an ADSI phone or not, and in fact,
whether it is ... useful/works with Asterisk.
I have decided that for the cost/performance of the various IP based phones,
I am not interested, I seem to get significantly better quality from a plain
analogue phone using the TDM40B card.
Is it beneficial to get an ADSI phone as opposed to a plain old analogue
phone from

Found: inexpensive ADSI phone
I know I heard people looking for inexpensive ADSI phones a while
back. Can't vouch for these guys, but this looks like a reasonable
deal for what perhaps are new phones. No experience with ADSI,
myself, but thought I'd pass it along. These folks also carry the
Nortel analog units that do intercom and 2-line, as has been
discussed in prior threads.

OT - Aastra phones provisioning
Hi,
I can't find a way to tailor DHCP/TFTP/HTTP environment so that brand new
Aastra SIP phones can be auto-provisioned when config files are stored in a
specific TFTP subdirectory instead of TFTP root directory.
For instance, TFTP root directory is /srv/tftp.
When config files are stored in /srv/tftp, a new Aastra can find its config
files.
When config files are stored in /srv/tftp/aastra,

Issue with Asterisk & Aastra 57i at v3.2
I recently tried to update my Aastra 57i to version 3.2 and ran into
a problem. It won't properly register and says "contact mismatch".
I added "sip contact matching: 2" to aastra.cfg, but that didn't help.
When I look at the SIP trace, but I see is the Aastra sending a
REGISTER and Asterisk replying with the 401. The phone then sends
the REGISTER again, this time

OT - Differences between Aastra 6730i and 6750i series
Hi,
What are the main differences between Aastra SIP phones 6730i and 6750i
series ?
Aastra corporate web site mentions :
"The Aastra 6730i Series offers exceptional features and flexibility in an
open-standard enterprise grade IP telephone" for one
"The Aastra 6750i Series offers features and flexibility in an
open-standards based, carrier grade IP telephone." for the

how to monkeypatch Hash's = method, revisted
So google for a solution to this problem and found myself here:

pam_smbpasswd fails, HP-UX 11i (revisted)
A co-worker of mine (Cliff Green <green@UMDNJ.EDU>) managed to get this
thing to build. What he changed to get it to do so is the following:
configure:
Change all of the references to "<module>.so" to "<module>.$SHLIBEXT."
This, to me, seems to be common sense. Anyone know why this wasn't done?
(Particularly, PAM_MOD="bin/pam_smbpass.so")

print problems revisted

I was trying to print the stuck documents in /var/spool/samba but kept
getting error messages saying that the documents where unprintable.
I accidently tried the lpr -v option thinking it was for Verbose info...
That fixed it! Now I just have to figure out why samba is saving my
documents in

Aastra 480 i
Getting "no service" display on aastra 480i. Sip debug shows an "unathorized" blub when the aastra tries to register.
Some reading indicates that 1.4 firmware wants aastra.cfg and mac.cfg in /tftpboot/. There are none.
Anyone have basic config files? Or can point me to a good link? All links I have tried, that purport to have config files, are either dead or error out.
