To those of you who may be interested, to get SATA drives to work on this motherboard with Xen 3.3.1 (compiled from source) you need to set SATA to RAID mode in the BIOS, not the default IDE mode. So I can only assume that the 2.6.18.8 kernel has a problem with the VIA SATA in IDE mode, and can''t recognise it, even though the host OS (Ubuntu 8.04LTS, in my case) has no problems with it.

I was playing with Autokey to automate the use of a Win app, but it seems that it is not recognising keystrokes properly. Not sure where the problem is. I have a similar problem. I used Autokey to expand ";d" to the current date, e.g. 2011.10.26-09:19:54. But in windows apps running inside Wine, the colons end up as semi-colons (2011.10.26-09;19;54), suggesting the SHIFT key is not registering correctly. (Note: I'm using CrossOver, hence Wine indirectly.)
