chanspy problems (asterisk 1.6.0.6) - When spying starts, the spied parties can't hear each other
Hi, I am in a predicament and any help/pointers would be appreciated.
We are using chanspy to listen in on conversations. We are doing this via a
web interface. The web interface lists all the ongoing calls. We click on a
call and then my local phone rings allowing me to spy on the session I
clicked on.
But "most" of the time, when I start listening in, the two parties that are

ChanSpy - Should I repatch it ?
With the deafening silence from my previous questions, I feel seriously
alone in the desire to have ChanSpy available.
I want to be able to perform a "ZapBarge" on an Agents conversation, and
ChanSpy was the answer to my prayers.

chanspy not working with Agents
I'm trying to spy on an agent (Agent/54321).
I can "dial(Agent/54321)" successfully.
If I "chanspy(Agent/54321)" or "chanspy(Agent)" all I get is a series of
beeps.
Any clue where I should start looking?
Thanks in advance,

Asterisk 1.2.14 - Chanspy, sound issues.
I upgraded my Asterisk system to version 1.2.14 to check if the sound
quality issues I was having with Chanspy in 1.2.7 remained. I'm still
getting them, and I'm honestly out of ideas except from RTFS.
The called party sounds normally fine, but it's impossible to hear the
caller. Sometimes, when the called party is talking, the caller can also
be heard. The conversation sounds broken,

ChanSpy with alphanumeric SIP channels [1.6.2]
Hi,
I'm using SIP users of the form 'ab_12345' (two letters, underscore, 5
digits). ChanSpy is working fine for listening in to conversations
initiated by these channels, and I can use '*' to randomly switch
channels. However, is there any way in this scenario to be able to
switch ChanSpy to a specific channel by typing in a ...# key sequence
during a spy session?

ChanSpy doesn't hangs up
Hello
I have a simple configuration to allow the admins to listen the agents
calls:
exten => _654,1,ChanSpy(Agent)
exten => _654,2,Hangup()
The problem is... even when the agents hung up... it seems the channels
remain active:
asterisk*CLI> show channels
SIP/211-b3042018 654 at default:1 Up
ChanSpy(Agent)
SIP/211-b3fbf768 654 at default:1 Up
ChanSpy(Agent)

MixMonitor and ChanSpy strangeness...
Hello there...
Noticed some strangeness going on with mixmonitor and chanspy, the called
(External SIP) party seem to be responding before the calling party
(Internal SIP) on call recordings and also when you listen in using chanspy.
as far as the agent (calling party) is conserned the conversation is
perfectly normal... just not the recordings that are produced, or any spying
that's going on

Using Chanspy
Hi,
I`m trying to use Chanspy for a customer that wants to listen to his
employees so he can train them better (or so he claims). In any case, it
looks simple but there is something I`m not doing right.
When a call is incoming, I set SPYGROUP using Set(SPYGROUP=1234)
When I use, on another phone, Chanspy(|qg(1234))
Which should allow me to listen to conversations that hit the first (Set

Mix Dial, Chanspy and MixMonitor or Monitor
I have an application that requires I be able to dial into an asterisk box, then from there dial out to another user through a PSTN. I'd like to be able to both 1) record this call and 2) let another user dial in using something like ChanSpy to listen to the conversation.
I can get this working by executing an auto-dial script to connect one end of a call to an outside Asterisk box which

ChanSpy with asterisk 1.0.9
Hi,
I recently installed asterisk 1.0.9. Now I want to use the chanspy
applicion. Patching and
recompiling is working ok. Loading the application into asterisk is now
problem either. Now I have
the following line in extensions.conf:
exten => 556,1,ChanSpy(-b|scan|Agent)
When an agent is busy I dial 556 using a SIP Phone. The chanspy application
announces that I'm spying on

Detecting Agents and Chanspy
Is it possible to detect if a specific agent is on a call? I can check
${AGENTBYCALLERID_${AGENTID}} to see if they are logged in(ie if set they are),
but I want to be able to detect if they are actually on a call. The
ChanIsAvail() doesn't seem to work for Agent channels. I want to do this from
within the dialplan.
Also it is possible to alter the format that ChanSpy() records in? It

Agents and Chanspy
I would like to use chanspy and restrict it to Agent channels. Then setup it on
an extension for the supervisor to monitor people taking calls from the queue
and making outbound calls.
Is there a way to use the agent channel with outbound calls? I don't want to
record the calls(which AgentMonitorOutgoing seems to do), just kinda flag them
so that they can be spyed upon. Any kind odd

Chanspy Jitter?
(Sometimes) When I?m monitoring calls, I hear a very bad jitter ? usually only on one of the bridged channels. So at first I thought it was just the one end of the conversation actually causing the jitter ? but it?s not. So I called in from another device to spy at the same time ? and the other chanspy sounds perfectly normal. (And neither party is complaining of bad sound)
So, periodically,
