AW: SIP Phones behind dynamic IPs
I have thew same problem. Ui tried with dyn dns in the externip field in sip.conf but I think the Asterisk does not allow this. Unfortunally I have every day a new ip. Maybe I can write a script witch takes my actual ip from externat and put it into the externip field. Maybe this solves the problem. -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com

OT: Multiple SIP phones behind NAT gateway?
Hi, I know this is slightly off topic but I figured the knowlege here is probably the best on the subject.. I want to setup remote offices with 4 to 6 SIP phones (SNOM 200) using ADSL and the internet to connect to the Asterisk box.. These phone will be behind an ADSL router using NAT... I don't want to setup another Asterisk system in each office so IAX is not an option.. I could use

Asterisk + SIP + NAT - seriously, what's the secret?
I'm at my wit's end! I've spent 2 days now trying to get what I thought was a very simply SIP + NAT arrangement working. I've trawled the web and picked brains, but nothing anyone suggests work. My setup is very simple. I have a * server in a datacentre, with a public IP address. There is no firewall in place, it's completely open (at least, as far as I'm concerned). I

SIP trunk problem
Hi all, I have the following problem, working with a SIP provider, if i setup my SJPhone to register directly to their STUN server and working over a 384/128 ADSL i have a really good quality, but then if i configure Asterisk to register to the same provider over the same 384/128 circuit the quality is REALLY BAD. The obvious difference is that using directly the SJPhone i am using STUN, while

ADSL routers with integrated SIP QoS for other devices
Greetings list, Thanks to all who replied to my thread a few days ago "SIP devices with packet loss tolerance". One of the suggestions that came out of that thread was to replace routers at users' premises with ones that support QoS. I've used m0n0wall's QoS in the past with reasonable success, but it's quite a bulky and complex setup for deploying to remote sites which

Unstable phone connection
This is driving me to distraction. I have a switch with multiple clients who are all working fine except for one and I can't figure out what makes them different. I have tried every NAT setting in the ATA (SPA112 ATA with 2 x FXS, 1 x LAN), stun server on and off, different sip ports, different RTP ports and it still fails. I have left the location with it working only to have it fail

Diagnosing poor call quality
Greetings list, We have an issue with call quality at 2 sites where the users (4 Elmeg IP290s at one site, 2 SPA942s at the other) do not have an asterisk box on-site. Each site has an 8mb down/448k up ADSL connection and the phones connect via SIP to an asterisk box in a datacentre using g729. The asterisk box in the datacentre connects to our other asterisk boxes providing pstn connectivity

To jitter buffer or not to jitter buffer?
Greetings list, Some time ago (probably about a year ago now) we disabled IAX jitter buffering on all our boxes because it was causing issues in a mixed 1.0 and 1.2 environment. One thing I've noticed over the last few months as more and more clients have moved from the 512k/1mb/2mb ADSL connections they were using onto "up to 8mb" connections is that whilst overall throughput is a

multiple sip phones behind firewall
Hello List, Can you please point me to the right resources on making multiple sip phones behind a firewall w/ private address work with asterisk w/c is on a public network. I have seen STUN on the grandstream and Xtunnels on X-lite. What is most deployed by members here with similar setups? Thanks. -- Cheers, Paul P. Pongco

asterisk behind NAT
I know this issue has been covered with at least 2 different patches, and probably a dozen different discussions, however I'm a bit unclear as to what my options are. I have a DSL line coming in with 8 IP addresses going to an OpenBSD firewall doing 1:1 NAT for machines behind the firewall. My asterisk box is one of these machines, and I'd like to allow foreign SIP clients

IAX Incoming/Outgoing
I'vce got three Asterisk systems here that I'd like to be able to place calls between with IAX. As usual, I've spent several hours playing with it, really getting nowhere. Asterisk is so mentally draining. Each system, pbx1, pbx2, pbx3, should be able to connect to every other. Do I need separate user/peers or can I combine them into a single user=friend for each system? if I place a

STUN with one public and one private IP?
I'm finishing up deploying an Asterisk (Trixbox) box at work. Wow, I thought Asterisk was cool by itself, but Trixbox has made just about everything turnkey. Great stuff! So... we're using Grandstream GXP-2000 handsets to connect to the Trixbox, which sits on our DMZ with a single public IP. I need the phones to work from random places behind NAT, as well as in the office. I'm using

Wired Interactions between Asterisk (Public) and Budgetone (behind NAT)
Hi, I recently encountered a weired situation where my budgetone stopped working. My network is like this: Asterisk on Public IP ----------- ADSL NAT Router ----- GS01, GS02, GS03 on Internal IP We have an Asterisk server running with a public IP address, which serves as the master PBX. On a remote site, we have 3 Budgetones all having internal IP addresses assigned by the ADSL NAT router. The

Sipura 2000 behind NAT issue, Vonage is working
Hi, I'm trying to configure Sipura 2000 (behind NAT) which connects to Asterisk (public IP, no NAT) and having interesting results. When Sipura is behind Linux/NAT firewall it works great and no special NAT settings on Sipura are necessary. The issue I'm having is when Sipura is behind Linksys broadband NAT router. Sipura gets registered with Asterisk just fine, but I can't hear

SIP devices with packet loss tolerance
Greetings list, Hoping someone might have experience with poorly-performing net connections and which devices work best over them. One of our clients has a number of employees that work from home, and are given a SIP phone to take with them and hook up to their broadband. For the most part, this works fine, but there are an increasing number where sound quality is poor ("chops" in and

several behind NAT
I've got my asterisk server in the DMZ of my local LAN - I've used my Budgetone and GXP2000's from the Internet- on direct IP connections with no problems. However, I'm about to deploy about 5 phones (either budgetone or GXP2000's) all on a LAN behind a NAT- on a different network than the Asterisk server. Should I look into using STUN servers? Will this setup be a

Please test: STUN patch for Asterisk behind NAT
Hi there! David has put up a patch to fix the STUN issues that has plagued Asterisk 1.6 ever since that feature was introduced. Now we need testers to verify the patch, so please grab the patch (or check out the SVN branch) and add your comments: https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=17622 Thanks, Philipp

unidata incom ICW-1000G - On asterisk
I am trying to use an ICW-1000G wireless handset connected to an asterisk server remotely The user is working from an offsite location and it appears that the device is not sending out keep-alives or stun. The manufacture is not being of assistance at all. I am wondering if anyone has worked with these units or has any ideas of what I could do to make them work. Anyone have a better

Does anybody have a good link how to connect Sipura with Asteriks, both behind NAT? I'm using FWD but their connection is like a weather (especially IAX), I need something more reliable. I was thinking of using stun and/or proxy but can not find any good link explaining how to setup Linux server -- #Joseph

SNOM 200 behind NAT and other xmas woes
I decided to give the whole family IP phones for christmas, all hooked into my asterisk server, so all the nephews can have their own lines. However, one of the phones I got was the SNOM 200. That's worked fine for me on my own network, but I'm having bad luck getting it to work behind NAT talking to Asterisk. It talks to my termination/origination provider, which seems to ruthlessly
