TDM400 with FXS some handsets not ringing
Folks,
I have a TDM400 with an FXS module. I'm having some trouble ringing
some phones attached to the device.
I have a real el cheapo handset that cost me about 9UKP. It works fine,
I plug it into the Wildcard and call the channel and it rings.
I have tried plugging in my BT Diverse 3016 cordless phone but it will
not ring, although I can call out from it.
I have also tried my GPO 332L

Rotary phones? (No, I'm serious)
Will the FXS cards that work with asterisk handle rotary? Are there any
channel banks that can convert rotary to touch tone (like some sorta
bridge)?
The goal is to be able to log input from rotary phones. Full PBX
functionality would be nice but...
(It's for a project, not for serious production).

1950's UK rotary dial phone
Folks,
I've got one of those GPO 1950's rotary dial phones that I'm trying to
get working in the UK. I've got pretty much everything working with my
TDM400, the phone rings and I can receive calls but I cannot dial with
the rotary dialer. I have set pulsedial=true or whatever the exact
setting is and I can dial from the phone by lifting the receiver and
tapping out the number on

Rotary phone on Asterisk
I'm trying to use a couple of old Western Electric type 500 phones (desk
model, rotary dial). These phones work fine, as tested with telco lines
(they dial, receiver/transmitter works fine, etc).
I'm running Asterisk 1.6.2.11.
I can't get them to dial through Asterisk. They are connected to a Rhino
channel bank which is connected to Asterisk via a Sangnoma card (T1 with

X100P Ireland Red Alarm (AR Tarzi)
Ahhh this could be my problem! I just checked which
wires on the RJ11 cable had a voltage across them and
it was the yellow and green (3 & 4?). From what
someone posted the other day it's supposed to be
Bumble Bee and Christmas Tree.
I did have to get a technician out to fix my line when
it was first installed because it was dead. Maybe he
wired it up incorrectly or maybe they just do it

Key Rotary Lines ?
Looking to install asterisk for a client and was shopping around for prices
for 6 POTS lines with or an integrated T1 with voice and data. I called up
Sprint and I told the sales rep that there was going to be a Phone system
she said that they would have to install "key" rotary lines and then I told
the rep that I needed two more lines with hunt group and she told me that

Tormenta 2 Card number rotary switch
Hello,
I had two quad-E1 Tormenta2 cards in my system and yesterday i had to
replace the CPU. I noticed the rotary switch on each card that sets the
card number or ID...
Both switches were set up on 0 and everything worked fine. Should i set
one card to 0 and the other one to 1, or... "if it works, don't fix
it!" ?
I had some nightmares with IDs on Dialogic hardware with Bayonne

Wildcard TDM400P (TDM40B) connectors
Hi,
I'm no phone guy but I've been having quite a bit of fun messing with
Asterisk. I just unwrapped my new Wildcard TDM400P (TDM40B) which is the new
4 port FXS PCI card. It has 4 RJ45 connectors and I'd like to hookup 4
regular phones which are RJ11. If I crip RJ45 connectors to the phone cords
do I simple use the center two pins (pins 4 and 5)?
Thanks,

Best echo-free and trouble-free system?
We currently have a 15-phone system using Asterisk, a combination of
analog phones/Grandstream HandyTone-286 and Grandstream BT101s, and 4
X100Ps connected to analog lines. The system works well except for
the occasional echo problem. I have all the echo parameters
configured, removed all the extra incoming analog lines except to the
PBX, etc. following all the advice on the wiki and on the

X100P question about odd behavior
Hi All...
I have installed a single X100P card in my PC and am playing with Asterisk.
The wire I plugged into the X100P has two POTS lines on it, wired on the
RJ45 in the normal way.
I am getting odd behavior. It seems when I dial out that the X100P dials
both lines at the same time.
I have two questions.
First, I see that the X100P is only a single channel. Does this mean that
I can

ATA with pulse dialing support over FXS
Hi.
Does anyone know about a simple one-fxs ATA with pulse dialing support
that can work with Asterisk?
A SIP one would be ok. I've been told that the Digium S101i IAXy
does support pulse dialing; although it's a iax2-only ata it could
be enough.
I need a bunch of them to convert some old fashioned rotary phones
into VoIP ones (I'd like to disassemble the ATAs to remove the

callers who don't press any keys
I've noticed that some callers listen to our main menu and don't press
any keys. I have it set up to restart the menu a few times and
eventually hang up. I'm wondering if these are wrong numbers (in that
case, why don't they hang up) or they really want to speak to someone
here but don't understand the menu (what's so hard about "for the

PSTN/phone/FXO/FXS cabling issue
I just received a Wildcard TDM400P by FedEx yesterday. I noticed that
the FXO/FXS modules use connectors similar to Ethernet.
Now, i want to connect the TDM400P to the PSTN connector in the wall,
and also to a regular analog phone. Both the PSTN conn and the phone use
smaller connectors, typical for analog phones.
I searched the "official" docs and the Wiki, there's good

Can I add distinctive ring with asterisk and TDM400?
Hello -
I have a TDM400P with 2 FXO and 2 FXS modules.
Feeding the FXS modules are two VOIP lines which are terminated by
VOIP adapters and have regular RJ11 wires connecting to the FXS ports.
Since the two different VOIP lines have different phone numbers, and I
know and can tell asterisk which VOIP line is connected to which FXS
port, can I cause a distinctive ring on the extensions if a call

TDM04B, trunk group
Hi,
I am just trying to figure out how to setup a TDM04B card for
incoming/outgoing calls. I have 4 lines, which are provided as a rotary
trunk group, currently hooked into a Nortel system, which asterisk will
replace. I have setup a Dell 1800 (Tower) system with the TDM04B card,
which seems to work.
The question is how do I set it up that all 4 lines are part of a trunk
group, such that

Hmisc-xtable label
Dear all:
Does anybody know about label conflicts between xtable and Hmisc? I found a couple of e-mails similar to this problem but is not clear to me how to get around the label problem.
The first table(longtable below) is generated with the latex function from Hmisc but for some reason when I try to hyperlink to it,it takes me to the top of the document. The second table created with the xtable

the FXS ports of Digium and damaging if connected to Tel Line
Hi All;
I am facing a problem that always the users confused and connect the telephone line coming from the telephone service provider to the FXS port and cause it to be damaged, specially if the card was 2 fxs and 2 fxo, so they make mistake and connect the line to fxs while it should be connected to fxo.
What is the solution for this disaster?

5 Channel / Trunk ??
To all Asterisk guru's...
Here is my question.
1. Asterisk PBX - 5 Trunks / Incoming lines
2. 1 Building - 3 Companies (sharing phone system)
Ok that's the basic layout. Here's the low down - Each company will
have one dedicated channel for there company. The other 2 channels they
want to be set aside as rollover's (rotary). That is not an issue.
Where my concern is, how

Run script action when Dahdi phone goes off-hook?
Hi,
Long story short - I have an ancient Britsh Telecom phone attached to my
Asterisk PBX via Dahdi. It works beautifully, receiving calls, and the
call quality is excellent. However, dialling out is impossible, as
Asterisk consistently mis-reads the number of pulses the dial sends (it
could be a squiffy dial, I'm not sure). Not to mention the fact that, in
today's modern "want
