Meditech and Wine
I am trying to get our Meditech application to work on a Mandrake 8.1 in
GNOME. I am getting the following messages when I try to run it:
The application runs, sort of. The screen is a complete mess.
Warning:
The Wine launcher is unable to find xmessage.
The launcher script relies heavily on finding this tool, and without it,
it will behave poorly.

Meditech and Wine
Just curious... Has anyone gotten Meditech Client/Server client working
under Wine? I'm using the Universal client for Meditech 5.2. If so, what
steps did you take... I'm having a devil of a time trying to get it to
work. I saw a post from earlier this year about Meditech, but help any.
TIA,
Brett

Program runs, but crashes...
I'm attempting to get a version of a terminal emulator (Meditech,
proprietary Esprit105C emulation) running on a Linux box with RedHat
6.2 and CodeWeavers Wine 20010305-1. The program runs (after asking
for netapi32.dll and netbios.dll first...copied those from a win98 PC
with no problems) and then when I start entering the information to
set up the terminal config, it crashes with the

Installing Flash MX 2004: dcom98 is ok but can't getInstallShield to continue
OK, following advice for a clean start I've completely deleted my ~/.wine
directory then installed http://wine.sourceforge.net binary/ wine 0.0.20050111-1 [13.9MB]
from the winehq repository using apt-get wine.
Then I tried to do the same thing (as described in http://navi.cx/svn/misc/trunk/winekb/NativeDCOM.xml):
$ WINEDLLOVERRIDES=ole32,oleaut32,rpcrt4=n wine /mnt/hda5/flash/DCOM9

wine.conf newbie problem +user32.dll
I seem to have gotten past one hurdle and on to the next. It seems that the problem that
I was having relates to poorly documented changes in the config files in the HOWTO.
I now have /root/.wine/config which seems to solve the old drive problem. However, here
is my new error.
[root@pato .wine]# cp /etc/wine.conf ~/.winerc
cp: overwrite `/root/.winerc/wine.conf'? y

Is there a difference ...?
Doh123, how is running a program off an NTFS partition asking for trouble? Ntfsprogs seems to handle it just fine. I know that NTFS doesn't let you mark a file as executable, and that the filesystem is susceptible to fragmentation, but you should just be able to tell it to run rather than display and be good. It shouldn't cause destruction. I think there might even be an NTFS defrag tool

How can I run an already installed Flash MX 2004 (on an /NTFS partition)?
First I tried wine from the Debian unstable repository. It didn't work
for installing Flash MX 2004.
Then I was given advice and I tried the latest version so grabbed
and installed the .deb package from the winehq repository (Wine 20050111)
Yes, I also tried to install DCOM98.EXE by following the
instructions from http://navi.cx/svn/misc/trunk/winekb/NativeDCOM.xml
but it also had some

0.9.59-1.1
I deleted my ./wine folder under home directory and configured wine with
the winecfg command and assigned proper drive names.
After doing this when i execute the wine command for lotus notes, i got
the following error message.
