Skinny and CISCO 7905G
Hello, I tried to configure a cisco 7905 IP phone using the skinny channel but I had not much luck. The relevant portion of skinny.conf is: [cisco1] device=SEP000F3487F8E3 callerid="Alex" <123-456-789> mailbox=500 callwaiting=1 transfer=1 context=default threewaycalling=1 line => 500 ; Dial(Skinny/500@cisco1) I set up the tftp server, and prepared the following

Converting 7905G to SIP
I am trying to convert my 7905G to be SIP based and seem to be running into a few hassles. Below are all the config files and logs from the server. I have tried to follow the pdf's from cisco and some posts from other mailing lists that google turnedup, but it seems that nothing is working. Am I somehow missing a fundamental step in trying to upgrade from Call Manager to SIP? Any help is

cisco 7970 sccp
Does anyone have the 7970 work with sccp? I have used the example configurations from the wiki. I can see that the phone is failing to retrieve the CTLSEP<MAC>.tlv file and then is able to retrieve the SEP<MAC>.cnf.xml file. The phone is hanging with the message "updating ctl". Thanks, John SEP<MAC>.cnf.xml: <device> <devicePool>

Re: Problem converting a Cisco 7960 to SIP
Hello all, I've got myself into a bizzare situation that I can't seem to get myself out of... Was wondering if anyone had some advice that might get me 'over the hill' on this... Some background: PBX consists of an Asterisk box (running TrixBox), 4 Cisco 7960's, 2 Polycom IP500's, and now an additional Cisco 7960. The phones are all on a separate LAN. There is

cisco 7940 firmware upgrade
I have been trying for sometime to upgrade this phone to either sip, or the latest sccp (at this point I don't care) with no success. It has an sccp image (don't know the version off the top of my head) that is incompatible with chan_sccp. When I boot up the phone, it asks the tfpt server for the .tlv file, then the SEP<mac> file which it receives successfully. It then asks for

Cisco 7970 - register with NAT phone
continuing discussions of 79xx issues. i've seen referenced and am experiencing difficulty getting a 7970 to work behind NAT to a public asterisk server. i am successful with 7960s. 1. SIP load is 70.8-3-3SR2S 2. config works fine if 7970 is connecting to an asterisk server a local LAN (same subnet) 3. when debugging it in a NAT'd environment I see the register and

Hello all, I recently purchased a Cisco 7940 IP phone to do some testing with (to validate a migration to asterisk for our internal PBX needs). I understand that I need to update the phone for it to support SIP, so I configured the phone with an IP address and pointed it at my tftp server. When I reboot the phone I am currently getting "TFTP File Not Found SEPDefault.cnf" in the

Cisco 7940 with asterisk
Hi all, I've been playing around with a cisco 7940 phone. It seems to like talking to Asterisk with the chan_sccp plugin. The only problem is that it tries to call out to a SEPXXXXXXXXX.cnf.xml file to verify it's configuration. I've found docs for SEP*.cnf files, but not .xml ones. Does anyone have a .xml file for a 7940 (Skinny?) phone that I can start with? ...Jeff

cisco 7940 + sccp issue
Hi, Does anyone know how to make this thing (7940) work with asterisk (chan_sccp module) ? I've set the configuration according to the wiki and now the phone just keep asking for CTLSEP<xxx>.tlv from my tftp server. I don't think that will fix my problem. The hints on the individual user extensions (101, 102, 103 and 104 below) are working just fine. sccp.conf example of 1 user: [devices] type = 7970 description = User1 tzoffset = -6 autologin = 101,401 speeddial = 102,User2,102@wct-internal speeddial = 103,User3,103@wct-internal speeddial = 104,User4,104@wct-internal device => SEP000F90CEF9D3

Registering Cisco 7942G IP phone with Asterisk!.
Hi, ? We are new to IP phone firmware upgradation (Sorry if it is a re-post of previous question(s)). ? Recently we have bought a cisco 7942G IP phone. It currently has SIP 42.9-0-2SR1S firmware loaded on it. We do not see any option to configure a SIP Proxy where we can provide SIP Server (Asterisk PC/Device)? IP address (with current firmware on it) to register it with Asterisk. ? Do we need to
