Problem with chan_iax.c implimentation causes bad audio?
I received an e-mail from a vendor who says: "We have recently become aware of an issue in the chan_iax2 implementation of IAX2. This issue leads to degraded audio quality. Due to this we are urging everyone to move to SIP." I don't want to discount what this person is talling me, but I'm curious to know why I would only be having issues connecting to his servers, and also what

Problem with chan_iax.c implimentation causesbadaudio?
We upgraded all five servers to 1.2.4. We tried trunking/notrunking. End users use an IAX2 softphone on their desktop PCs. Agents are VLANed and all IAX2 traffic is QoS'd on all LAN and WAN legs. Calls flow from the agents to the local Asterisk server as IAX2/ulaw. Then they went over the IP-VPN as IAX2/g729 (we tried ilbc and straight ulaw as well). Calls get to the PSTN from the

Whatever happened to the gtk based uxtheme.dll implimentation?
Hello, This is my first post here, so I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. A while ago on one of the wine newsletters, it was reported that somebody messed around with the uxtheme.dll implimentation to allow for native gtk themes to work with wine apps. This was a great idea, as the default widgets wine uses, are quite frankly, kind of ugly. I'm wondering whatever

Asterisk 1.2.4 IAX2 New Jitterbuffer Tuning
I was using G729 with Asterisk 1.07. With the new ability to do packet loss correction with ILBC, I felt I'd give it a try. The new PLC does not work with G729. I don't use Speex because my softphone does not support it. This is a 1.5mb IP-VPN connection with prioritized QOS for port 4569 (IAX2). I've never really stressed the bandwidth. Typically, only 10-20 concurrent calls.

error to load chan_iax.so
Hello all, I tried to compile Asterisk from CVS yesterday. I would like to try gnophone as IAX client on the same Asterisk server with a sound card. I didn't have any problem of compilation. Here are the config files in /etc/asterisk: /etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf /etc/asterisk/iax.conf /etc/asterisk/indications.conf /etc/asterisk/logger.conf

Clicks in audio with TE100P PRI
Hi, I have a problem I will describe. I have PAP2 connected to the internet to an asterisk box with 2 TDM cards, one TE100P E1 with PRI and one TDM400P with 2 FXS an one FXO. When I call to the TDM400 cards from the PAP2 eveything is OK, sound quality is perfect. When I call to terminate the call in PSTN through E100P I hear clicks which aparently are RTP packet looses. This clicks are only heard

[Asterisk-Dev] ClueCon in 2 Weeks!
ClueCon is coming in 2 weeks so we urge everyone who plans on attending to register today so we get a proper headcount! ClueCon was put together by Asterlink, the same team of people who helped shape Asterisk into what it is today by writing features, fixing bugs, offering IRC support and assisting with the management of the development effort. We have produced several real-world solutions based

JITTERBUFFER function
Hello! I am going to use the JITTERBUFFER function in a SIP (and local channels) only setup, but have some questions of how to use it: 1. Do I need to activate jbenable in sip.conf? Or is it enough to call the JITTERBUFFER function? 2. What is the preferred way to invoke this function? Say I have channel A which is not in need of buffering, while channel B do need it. If A

Problem with chan_iax.c implimentationcausesbadaudio?
All switches and routers give highest priority to traffic on IAX2 port 4569. We use DSCB values over the IP-VPN to prioritize it as well. This did not change with the upgrade, as we can still see proper packet coding. The softphone is provided by our vendor Aheeva. It is the same IAX2 softphone they use in their own call centers. Funny thing is that they say that moving to Asterisk 1.2.4

What I did get stuck on and asking for help is that I wanted to set up a users "Roaming" profile like in ADS. and also if it is possible to control software updates like AD. Just wanted to know if this was possible in samba4 and if yes can you please point me to the page

Distorted VM with iax2 with ilbc and jitterbuffer - bug?
Two asterisk boxes 150 miles apart, both cvs-head as of this morning (and since Sept 27th), connected via iax2 with low-utilized ds3 internet, C7960 calls exten on remote system (also C7960), and call goes to VM. No other calls in either system (eg, no load). Both boxes have iax config'ed as: trunk=yes allow=ilbc jitterbuffer=yes Recorded VM messages are very distorted. Changing only

Problems with the Speex Jitter Buffer
Hi, I am using the JitterBuffer. Since there is not so much documentation I think I dont use it in a correct way. All the packets are recieved (I control the sequence numbers) but the JitterBuffer often tells me he has no packet. I am using it in the following way: I am not sure if I use the ticks correctly but I think it can be set to 20(msec). It is set as a Member in my class and i

Problems with the Speex Jitter Buffer
Thanks for your reply Jean-Marc! this was what I had before. But I decided to restructure it since the thread that plays the sound is a callback from the sound hardware, more or less an interrupt handler. For me it seems more reasonable to waste some memory for to save the decompressed Packet. While I write this I begin to think that it is possible I decompress Packets that are never used

More HEAD wierdness (chan_sip, jitterbuffer/PLC problems)
Hello, After checking out CVS HEAD from yesterday (for those new PLC/Jitterbuffer patches), I was affected by bug 3795 with my Polycom IP600's. After seing it resolved as of this morning (thanks Mark), I decided to try again... I can answer incoming calls. No problem there. Putting calls on hold, however, results in my Polycom IP600 indicating the call on hold, but the caller does

Setting the jitter buffer in AIX
Are these things possible? 1) Set the local Asterisk jitterbuffer size, but only for a particular connection. I'd like to force Asterisk to use a particularly large buffer in certain cases. Should I expect this to work? [general] jitterbuffer=no register => username:password@parcelfarce.domain.net ;parcelfarce register => username:password@iaxtel.com ;iaxtel [parcelfarce]
