Trouble getting SMS working
Hi, I have been trying to get my asterisk box to send SMS's to my Panasonic dect phone via a Linksys pap2. I believe I have the message centers setup correctly between * and the phone. The pap2 is configured to only use G711a. The Asterisk version is 1.0.7. In my /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf I have [smsphone] exten = 199,1,Goto(smsmorx,${CALLERIDNUM},1) [smsmorx] exten =

SMS in Spain (it seems Protocol 2)
Hello, (I have asked it some time ago in Asterisk-es mailing list, so excuse me if anybody receive it twice.) I am trying to send SMS in Spain using landlines. It seems that app_sms.c only handles Protocol 1, but Spain and Italy are using Protocol 2. I have been searching in Internet without any results... anybody is sending SMS from Asterisk (or any method) using Protocol 2? (so, it seems,

SMS to fixed phone line
Telstra (Australian Telco) has recently introduced a feature to allow the sending of SMS direct to fixed analogue lines, with an appropriate handset. As best as I can figure out, this appears to use CID type signalling, or at least on a line that otherwise has no CID on it, CID is sent, but with a standard modem I can only receive the date, time, and phone number (eg normal CID info). After that

app_sms: using * as an smsc
Hi, i've been discovering app_sms and it states that it can act as an smsc for landline sms. Receiving SMS from my Gigaset Phones is no problem and the SMS are stored as files on by * box. So far so good. Let us assume that i have a couple of phones which should be able to receive SMS directly from my * box ( and not from an SMSC from BT or Deutsche Telekom ), So all these phones have

SMS using a PRI channel
Hi, I have some experience in sending SMSs using smsclient. I call the german Vodafone SMSC (01722278020), and smsclient takes approx 20 secs to send a SMS. The hardware is an Sedlbauer ISDN card. Now, I want to do the same using asterisk and a digium PRI card. I dialed using the manager with: action: originate channel: Zap/g4/01722278020 ... I assumed, the call will fail, because the remote

SMS in the U.S.
A potential client wants to integrate cell phones into his PBX offering. Is anyone able to exchange messages between an * system and a mobile phone? Which gateway are you using and what are the charges? Do you use app_SMS? I know this can be done because I'm receiving spam SMS on my cell phone. Thanks, Mike

We installed na Asterisk System whith 400 Softphone users (Eyebeam 1.5 from Counterpath). As far as we know, Asterisk don't support yet IM (Instante Message) feature, instead Eyebeam have this feature. Is that true? Is there any new version from Asterisk that supports IM? > Eduardo R. app_sms not working anymore
Hi, I have been using app_sms for a few weeks now, since I recently upgrade to asterisk 1.2.9.1 (latest bristuff, -q) however, app_sms doesn't seem to work that well anymore.. On receiving an sms, I execute the app_sms script, and get this as output: -- Accepting voice call from '171701' to 'ournumber' on channel 0/1, span 2 -- Executing Goto("Zap/4-1",

SMS over PRI/E1?
hi all I spoke to this guy the other day, working with Cisco's VoIP system. He told me they were using a PRI/E1 to transport SMS, and could even do so from their phones. May this be possible with asterisk? I have an E100P in my primary asterisk server connected to a E1/PRI. roy

app_sms - rocks!
Ok, I just thought I'd publicly pat Adrian Kennard (revk) on the back for this application. This is an excellent contribution and gets my vote for app of the year. For those that aren't aware app_sms allows you to send/receive fixed line sms messages from asterisk. ( you can take a look at a quick page showing this http://www.automated.it/asterisk/sms.html ).. I should point out that

E1 cards
We are not having any luck with the E100p card here in Australia, it will work with a crossover cable to another device but will not talk to our Telco Telstra who probably have a weird implementation of an E1. shared fxo line
My home asterisk system has failed the wife test (still too much echo with the current hardware... my voice seems okay but when she talks she complains of echo), but I'd still like to be able to use it to send and receive fixed line sms messages to and from my mobile. My x100p card has 2 ports on it, a 'line' port and a 'phone' port, so there is provision there to plug the
