Of course Polycom won't officially support it anyway, as they only support Asterisk Business Edition. We're using 1.2.9, but it's been ocurring for quite some time. We have about 35 phones and

Polycom-Asterisk hints/presence
I set up hints and presence monitoring on some Polycom phones connected to an asterisk server with the expectation that the phones that are "watching" other extensions would be notified when the other extension sis ringing, in addition to the other statuses (on the phone, statuses set by the user on the phone, not registered, etc). I can see when the line is in use, and when it is

What's up with the Manager Interface?!?!
The Asterisk Manager Interface is driving me nuts. Whoever wrote it should be drawn and quartered. Sometimes the data comes back separated by \r\n, and sometimes it's separated by \n. The whole thing is completely inconsistent, and trying to write any kind of API for it is -GHASTLY- Doug.

Can't open shares using netbios names
I need a pointer to what Fine Manual I should go read to set up my netbios name resolution, because all my attempts to use netbios names are being resolved against dns ... I have one subnet (192.168.2/24), with several Fedora 11 machines and several Windows XP machines, and a couple SMB/CIFS NAS units which also share printers. No domain, it's all just a workgroup. IAX2 REACHABLE/UNREACHABLE
All, I have an issue with IAX that I can't comprehend. Approximately every eight minutes my servers go unreachable. They stay unreachable for exactly 10ms. I have two servers running IAX and it happens on both servers simultaneously. I have searched the archives and see similar issues, but not the exact same one. I am on the current CVS stable version of *. Also, during IAX calls,

1.2.9.1 SIP/Local/Queue behaviours weird
Hi, Does any one experience that SIP phone to SIP phone (Polycom phone) calls can't hear each other, but Monitor application records both end's voices. It also happens in group pickup calls. Zap calls to queue (Local channel) also experience this problem (sometimes, our SIP phone can't hear any voice from incoming Zap calls when pickup, sometimes this happens after 10-50

joining columns as in a relational database
In our recent workshop on "Multilevel Modeling in R" we discussed handling data for multilevel modeling. An classic example of such data are test scores of students grouped into schools. We may wish to model the scores as functions of both student-level covariates and school-level covariates. Such data are often organized in a multi-table format with a separate table for each level of

Newbie question about replication
Hi, I am a long-time dovecot user/admin for my family mail server, but I had ventured into configuring replication only recently and I am not sure about how it should work and what are the good practices. My intent for replication was to have another instance to switch to in a short time if something fails. I have daily backups, but it will take much more time to rebuild and restore than just to

NT network can't browse Samba
Hi, I'm trying to setup a Linux box with Samba (1.9.18p10) and it isn't having any luck making a home for itself on the network. If I go to a Windows95 machine, I see all (well most) machines on the net there, but not the Linux box. I can also not see any other machines from the Linux box. Here is log.nmbd output that repeats every 5 seconds or so: find_workgroup_on_subnet: workgroup

Macros not working as expected with extension "h" in some circumstances
I have a question on how to handle the "h" routines. I have noticed that if the call is hung up by the side that originated the call, the "h" routine is not extendable via a macro, or at least I have been unable to do it. My tests have included only SIP->SIP calls. If the originating side hangs up first: The macro is called from "exten =>
