Asterisk large-scale deployment w/analog phones
I would recommend that you look at the Pika Technologies Daytona MM board. It has onboard DSP and onboard analog bridging taking up much less horsepower. Need help with a pika warp asterisk appliance problem.
I've tried the forums at pikawarp.org and it seems no one is there anymore. Is there someone here that can help. last week I decided it was time to upgrade the rom on the machine to try to get the newest freepbx. so I followed the instructions to upgrade. I resetup the extensions and all the other setting like it was before. I did this over the network so I go onsite to double check

Need fax solution for 1.4.xx
Anybody know a reliable fax solution for 1.4.30 branch? I am using PikaFax on another server and works very well (about 3000 faxes a week), but it appears they no longer offer their product to open source asterisk, only for there "WARP" appliance. NOT really looking to migrate from 1.4.x to 1.6.x -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Free T1 Card?
Gang, I recall several months ago that there was a company that was giving away a free 1-port T1 card, with some specific conditions. Do any of you recall who that was? My Google searches are coming up empty and now I'm wondering if I was hallucinating... Thanks, MC -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

forgot to run as root...
Hello List, I've been running rsync for must be 20 years by now, but over that time the holes in the Swiss cheese that passes for my brain seem to have grown larger and been filled with budgie seed and sawdust. I once used rsync as my regular backup solution but now settle for a borg backend with pika up front and perhaps the lack of regular use caused me to run: `[admin at server

Compact, fanless appliance?
Hello For those SOHO customers (ie. at most, a couple of POTS/ISDN connections and simultaneous SIP calls) who'd rather not use a big, noisy PC to run Asterisk, I'd like to offer an alternative that has the following features: - not old hardware sold on eBay, ie. it must be up-to-date hardware sold by a company currently in business - compact, silent - has room for a 2.5" hard-disk,

Why using usecallerid=no?
Hi everybody. I'm in a discussion and someone ask me in which situation we should use the zapata.conf usecallerid set to no. I didn't have the answer. I understand what the usecallerid keyword does but I'm talking about a actual situation that is interesting to to avoid receiving the caller id. Thanks in advance! -- -------------------------------------------- Paulo Garcia Pika

CentOS 7 magically rebooted!
CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core) Hi, Last night our CentOS 7 server rebooted. Seemingly it's a very clean reboot. I can't find a shred of evidence as to why it happened though. Things I've checked: * sa reports * /var/log/{messages,secure,dmesg,cron} * /var/log/audit/audit.log * lastlog The host is used for KVM virtualisation and connects via multipathing to our OmniOS SAN via

'Traditional' Faxing
Hi all, the company I work for has an aging Digital PBX attached to an E1. This PBX has a few analogue lines, one of which we use a 'traditional' fax machine on. I want to upgrade our PBX and Asterisk is almost a perfect fit. The only problem I can't seem to find a working solution for is Faxing. I don't want to use Hylafax or other similar methodologies. I believe there

PriorityInheritance doesn't work (tinc 1.0.19)
Hello! I'd like to use PriorityInheritance option, despite it is still experimental. (Why it could be experimental, when it looks quite simple feature, no?) But this option doesn't change the TOS field of outgoing UDP packet. I just do tcpdump on outgoing interface from vty1: $ sudo tcpdump -vni eth0 udp dst port 655 And from vty2 I do ping with setting of tos field to EF(0xb8). $

Broadsoft - Asterisk interop
Greetings to all. I am not sure of this is a "user" question or a "business" so apologies in advance if it should be asked in the business list. A client of mine has a UK branch that is served by a provider that uses the Broadsoft solution. I want to create a sip trunk from a remote asterisk pbx to the client. The provider claims that Broadsoft has a strict

Best quad-port fxo solution with EC?
Hello All, I am trying to figure out which way to go for a quad port fxo solution with a good echo can on it. My options are the sangoma remora, a mediatrix fxo, or something similar. The issue is that I would need a good EC. This would be on about a 9000 foot loop, and the lines don't function well on a spa-3000 or zaptel tdm 4 port card. Anyone have experience that drives them in a

Rhino Channel Bank or ADIT 600
I am forklifting a Merridian option 51c with 112 Nortel Digital Handsets and 400 analog units. For the analog units I have quotes for 9 ADIT 600 48 port fxs units and 17 Rhino 24 port FXS channel banks. I have used neither. Which is the best choice? The price difference is not that great. I am looking at Citelinks 24 port Handset Gateway for the Nortel Digital units. (Any other suggestions

auto provision of IP501 polycom
Has anyone been able to get the IP501 to discover the FTP server IP address (via dhcp or dns) and download 100% of the config from a provisioning server? We are still having to touch each unit to enter the ftp server address and password, as well as set many of the options that will not take from the config file. Have a sample config file you are willing to share? What is required in
