Slightly OT - Oreka Call Recording
Greetings all-
I'd like to install Oreka on a Centos 5.x server for monitoring my Asterisk systems(using port mirroring) but I find I'm having problems with the version of libpcap installed. The latest is 0.9.4 but the orkaudio RPM (built for Centos 4.2) requires libpcap 0.8.3. I've tried making symlinks to overcome the issue but with no success. Without having to build Oreka from

forcing levelplot to use relative cuts (ie cuts for each panel)
Dear guRus,
I'm having trouble producing a levelplot with relative cuts for each
panel (my data has large differences in scales, so I want to use
quantiles for each panel).
My attempts to change the 'at' argument in panel.levelplot function
have not met with success.
Below is a toy example.
xy <- expand.grid(x = 1:3, y = 1:3)
aaa <- rbind(cbind(xy, z = 1:9, site =

Ruby on Rails: Up and Running: Rough Cuts Version
Anyone read the rough cuts of this book? I''m interested in checking it
out because Bruce Tate''s work is always great. How does it compare to
the agile books (2nd edition) in terms of timeliness, difficulty, etc.
Thanks!
Nathan

TF2 cuts to Virtual Desktop repeatedly in game
For a few frames every roughly 250, it cuts to a distorted shot of my virtual desktop. If I'm not using one, i get distorted colors. Everything works fine, using a Radeon HD 3400 series with Catalyst 10.4. In XP compatibility mode, fullscreen, 1280x800. Would reducing the resolution help?
Also, I'm using 1.2 rc 1.

samba cuts temporary files from users
Hi guys
I would like to comment a problem using samba 3.3.2 inside my windows
domain. I have different shared folders, and users detect when opens a file,
every time that goes to save it, appears message "file is using by other
application" and can't save it If not await 5 minutes more or less. It
generates a lot of temporary files (actually 912) producing false errors and

levelplot behaviour when "at" cuts the z range
Consider the following examples:
library(lattice)
x = c(1,1,2,2)
y = c(1,2,1,2)
z = 1:4
levelplot(z~x+y,at=c(.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5)) # correct
levelplot(z~x+y,at=c(.5, 1.5, 2.5)) # ?
The second plot is clearly incorrect. However, I don't know
what correct behaviour is: ignore everything above 2.5 and
issue a warning? Reject at values that do not cover the
data range, and issue an

'cuts' option in levelplot()
Hi All,
Does anyone knows what exactly "cuts=some number" (say 15) does in lattice's
levelplot(). I doubt this but does it uses cut() internally, something like
cut(z, 15)?
Thanks,
Gurmeet

verbose_proctitle cuts dsync to proctitle to "dsyn"
Hi Timo,
little cosmetic bug report:
using "verbose_proctitle = yes" shortens the proctitle of dsync to just
"dsyn".
Example:
Note the whitespace instead of the 'c' in the proctitle:
root at m-st-01:~# ps auwwwx | grep [d]syn
virtmail 18141 13.0 0.1 49916 7952 pts/6 R+ 00:49 0:00 dsyn -v -u xxyyzz7 -R backup maildir:/staging/xxyyzz7/Maildir

Conversations cuts: "didn't get a frame from Channel: SIP/..."
Hello list,
I've been looking around to solve this problem both in the IRC, the wiki
and Google without any luck.
I have a box running * 1.07 (with zaptel 1.07 and libpri 1.07) and I'm
having massive problems with random and increasing conversations cuts
both in Zap and SIP channels.
When one starts a call or attend any, sometimes it cuts-off at 20-25
seconds without any apparent

Micro-cuts in MusicOnHold
Hi ! :)
I'm having trouble with my MusicOnHold... I'm using standard files
(fpm-*.mp3), which are provided in * package (so I assume they're not
variable bitrate encoded... anyway, I tried re-encoding them and no
changes).
The music is played, but with micro-cuts every 2/3 seconds... it's
happening on every channels (sip, capi).
So, if someone has an idea... :-)

Console Sound: Cuts out, Comes back after restart
I'm having a problem with sound output to the console.
My basic dial plan is as follows:

exten => _1NXXNXXXXXX,2,Playtones(info)
exten => _1NXXNXXXXXX,3,Hangup
I get the following output in the console:

audio cuts out during IVR
Hi all,
I'm running 1.6.2.0-rc6, and I'm running into a problem: sometimes the
audio vanishes in the middle of listening to an IVR background prompt.
This happens with both analog (Digium card) and IAX2 incoming calls.
The prompts are stored in ulaw format (and the IAX2 calls use ulaw).
The asterisk console claims that the IVR prompts are proceeding in the
expected fashion, but I

how to get full channel name - AMI cuts off
Using Dahdi/PRI, I end up with channel names like 'DAHDI/i8/9995551212-4d6B', but when I do a 'core show channels' it cuts off those names to only 'DAHDI/i8/9995551212-'. This is the same for AMI.
Is there a way to get the full channel name within AMI?
I'm using asterisk 11.7.0
Thanks,
-Justin

I'm using the "image" function to produce a plot and I want to define

branch cuts of atan()
Hi
the following gave me a shock:
> atan(2)
[1] 1.107149
> atan(2+0i)
[1] -0.4636476+0i
>
or, perhaps more of a gotcha:
> atan(1.0001+0i)
[1] -0.7853482+0i
> atan(0.9999+0i)
[1] 0.7853482+0i
>
evidently atan()'s branch cuts aren't where I thought they were.
Where do I look for documentation on this?

Making cuts on multivariate data
I'm a newbie to R and I was hoping someone could answer a simple question. I want to read in an ASCII file with 3 columns - x,y,z. Let's say there is a lot of data - 100,000 entries. I then want to histogram x values that pass arbitrary (and complicated) cuts on y and/or z. Likewise, I want to make a scatterplot with x and y, with a cut on z values. Perhaps you have to redefine the

acf() plot of matrix cuts y-axis labels
Hello all,
I found a funny problem with y-axis labels when plotting acf(matrix) -
the labels are too close to one of the margins and cut in half.
Here's the problem:
test<-matrix(rnorm(200),ncol=4)
acf(test)
This doesn't fix the problem:
test<-matrix(rnorm(200),ncol=4)
par(mar=c(3,3,2,0.2),oma=c(0,0,0,0))
acf(test)
This does fix the margin. I understand why, but not sure why ONLY
