Greetings - I'm looking to put some cheap storage into my server, which is running centos 3. I'm looking at the Maxtor SATA/150 PCI Card and a big maxtor sata drive. I would like to make sure that CentOS has driver for this controller. I'm trying to install CentOS 4 on an A8V on the PATA/Raid drives on the Promise controller. The Promise controller is recognized (sata_promise), but the PATA drives are not recognized. Base on this thread https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=147303 it seems that there is a patch which was merged in 2.6.11 to get pata working. Any ideas how to proceed? Does anyone have this card working in hardware RAID mode? I can see the individual ATA drivers when booting. The promise site has drivers for Redhat 7.3,8 and 9, but nothing for higher. I see the source code, and can build the module, but I need it loaded at boot time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Sean

They're connected to a promise sx4 150 card, using the kernel drives (not promise's binary only drivers). the raid builds fine, as does creation of the ext3 filesystem. however, if i then run e2fsck (with the -f option since the filesystem is brand new) i get thousands of these type of errors: Inode 15461 has imagic flag set.
