Kickstart and aliased network interfaces
Hi,
small(?) problem here:
We have several servers which have aliased interfaces (e.g. gigabit: one
alias points to the net the backupserver is in, the other one "connects"
to the filer the machine needs for work).
So I'd like to generate this setup with kickstart (yes, I *could* do
that with cfengine or other tools, but want to have the general config
in kickstart).
Alas:

Firewire drive support in CentOS 3.3?
I just recently downloaded and installed the CentOS 3.3 release, and
I'm having a bit of a problem...
It appears that no support for firewire drives has been included. I
am unable to find the ohci1394 or sbp2 modules anywhere. Are there
other packages which must be installed from the distribution to get
firewire devices to be recognized?
Thanks.

centos 3 rpm compatibility
Hello.
I would like to know what kind of RPMs we can use for centos 3, appart of
the common centos 3 repository.
Can we for example take a RedHat 8.0 rpm and install it ?
Or can we for sure take an src.rpm and install it this way ?
Thanks for any advice,
Daniel

binary RPMs
Hi everybody.
I know that we can normally install source rpms designed for RH9 and FC1,
but can we also install the binary RPMs for RH9 and/or FC1 on a CentOS 3
system ?

Need apache ftp help please
System = CentOS / Apache 2.0 / HTML files location = /var/www/html
Nat'd IP - ports 80, 20, 21 already opened & routed to internal ip.
I desperately need the quick & dirty solution.
I need a setup where one user can ftp from another desktop (windows) to
upload new website files. I currently have CuteFTP, but will use anything
needed at this point.
I need to try to test this today.

Re: VSFTPD / Apache (Beth Curotto)
Beth,
I can get to http://66.196.225.55/, but if I try going
to the mail subdirectory I get:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /mail/ on this
server.
This seems to be a web server, but your question says
vsftpd.
I recently set up an ftp server using vsftpd. I found
that for a directory to be accessible to anyone,
permissions must be set so that the directory is
executable by

yum update
Just installed fresh copy of 3.3 from isos. When I run "yum update" I am
getting an error when trying to install updates:
"Could not find GPG key necessary to validate....."
I am sure I have missed a posting on this issue but have not been able to
find it.
How do I get & load correct GPG key?
Thank you, Beth

GRUB bootloader
I have raid'd a copy of my system for backup purposes to another hard drive,
not deleting the MBR. When I boot with GRUB (Centos 3.3) it now lists
multiple instances to boot, but in fact there is only one complete system.
Is there a way to delete additional instances from the GRUB bootup screen?
Thanks, Beth

mondo Centos4
I had asked a few months ago if anyone knew if mondo is compatible
with CentOS4. One person said it was still working, but never mentioed
if he had done a restore. I had the stable version installed and
whenever I ran it there were a few messages about command not found.
Well, I had a HD go out and tried booting from the CD and it failed.
It was just my desktop PC and my home dir was backed up a
