Re: Anyone using verizon fios ftth for analog voice?Any echo?
I am using Verizon FIOS to my home. I subscribe to a 5 MB down 2 MB up data package. I continue to pay for a standard voice line in addition to the broadband connection only for local calling, fax and emergency 911 use.
The way it works is that the fiber optic connection is terminated on the house via an ONT (optical network termination). The ONT can provide connectivity for three types of

Anyone using verizon fios ftth for analog voice? Any echo?
Hello All,
I was wondering, is anyone using verizon's fios going into a zaptel 4
port card?
If so, has anyone experienced echo issues at all?
I am under the assumption that echo issues should be minimal on a ftth
connection, but want to confirm if this is the case.
I have some customers with nasty echo and fios is an option, but if it's
not likely to solve anything, would end up just

Upgrading to Verizon FIOS from Verizon DSL - Linux machine as router/Gateway/LAN server]
Greetings,
A long time ago I setup a Linux machine as a Gateway/LAN Server using
Verizon DSL as the ISP.
I used the following HOWTO as the guide - DSL HOWTO For Linux:
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/DSL-HOWTO/index.html
Is there something comprable for Verizon FIOS?
My Gateway machine runs Fedora.
For a new server, I'm considering setting up a CentOS machine, while still
using Fedora on my

Rsync with SSH through Verizon FIOS Firewall
Hello there everyone. ?I'm trying to set up a server that will "push" via rsync every night to a server in my home. ?The verizon firewall is quite robust, and it makes connecting a bit tricky. ?Does anyone have any tips on how I might set this up?
Thanks!

TDM04B & FIOS No Hangups Often
Hello all, I am having a big issue that i just cant get fixed for a
while now and its causing me lots of grief. It seems like since we got
FIOS installed (including switching to fios phone lines which are
supposed to be the same on our end) i am having massive problems with
asterisk not hanging up dead calls for days, even weeks if i dont catch
it. It slowly builds up randomly not ending a call

Version FIOS MWI Detection - asterisk-1.6-beta7
I'm trying to get the Telco MWI recognition working in asterisk-1.6-beta7. I'm told that it's supposed to work provided
my telco support FSK MWI signalling.
I have Verzon FIOS. I believe I have FSK MWI signaling as I can hear the standard stutter tone when I pick up a live
handset in front of my asterisk connection.
I have the Verizon line attached to a TDM400 card, port 4.

[OT] Yoda Communications' VG-400 (4 Port FXO and 2 Port FXO/2 Port FXS)
With the lack of info on Yoda Communications in Taiwan and their
hardware, I thought I'd post my experience.
I got my hands on a few H.323 VG-400's and VG-100TA's.
http://www.yoda.com.tw/model.php?type=VoIP_Solution&pname=VG400
2 of the VG-400's were 2FXO/2FXS models.
A couple were deployed to SE Asia, where we planned to offer our services.
Originally, I ran a GnuGK server

Newbie: Route some traffic through a pptp tunnel
I have a centos 4 i386 machine that works like a
router (iptables filter, NAT) with two NIC''s.
One NIC is connected to my ISP (100 Mbit FTTH),
I get a DHCP assigned public IP that changes
"sometimes". Most incoming ports are blocked
by my ISP.
In order to get a fixed IP and open ports, I
have to set up a PPTP tunnel to the ISP.
The default gw and the NAT''ing goes to

wine for the mac?
Still, I stand corrected.
After reading the site FAQ, I found out that Plex86 _won't_ run on a mac.
It is only good for booting i86 based OSes _on_ an i86 based *n?x
Bochs is his best bet yet of running wine on a mac.

Re: Icecast Digest, Vol 35, Issue 1
I believe the load test documents state that the load tests were two
test machines connected via a gigabit switch.
In this sense there was no 'internet line' chokepoint: It was just
machine A (server) and machine B (simulating many many listeners) both
plugged into the same switch, for a straight through 1gig connection
from machine A to B.
In your case, with FIOS, I think the usual

Icecast2 Server Load tests
Hello:
Ed Zaleski ran some remarkable and very impressive load tests on icecast reported on www.icecast.org (Home page). What wasn't mentioned in the test specifications was the type of internet line that was used which totally influences bandwidth and subesequent overall load characteristics.
Questions:
1. Was it a T1 line, Verizon FIOS, or cable internet, or what?
2. What were the

Tinc via satellite link stalls often
Guus,
Below a segment of a log file. I am trying to analyse why the satellite link goes down and up all the time (sometimes 10 to 15 times an hour, sometimes not for a day.
My guess is that this indicates packet loss on the satelllite link and tinc not really recovering from that. Where I inserted an empty line the log basically stopped and was silent for I guess for 14 minutes? Would setting

Anyone know anything about VoiceWing?

Verizon hand just installed FIOS to the side of my house. Anyone know
anything about their VoiceWing offering? Is is a SIP offering? Their
"technical" staff can only tell me that it's a VoIP service.

Configure WAN Phone
Hi,
I am relatively new to Asterisk and am looking for help in configuring an IP
based phone. This phone is not on the same subnet as the PBX. I read that
there could be an issue with NAT so I am bypassing this by connecting
temporarily with an Internet IP. So far, I have configured the server
extension with the phone MAC address along with configuring the phone unit
with IP, Gateway and SIP
