mini-ITX suggestions
Does anyone have recommendations for (or against) mini-ITX platforms to
be used with Wildcard X100P and TDM400P cards?
I am considering the use of systems using VIA EPIA CL and Epia M as
small, quiet platforms on which to host Asterisk.

CentOS 4.4 on mini-itx
Hi,
I have a EPIA mini-itx board that I have been running Fedora 4 on. I want to
install CentOS 4.4 on it since FC4 is no longer supported. The install goes fine
but when I reboot the machine after the install I get errors like the following:
hda:<4>hda: dma_timer_Expiry : dma status == 0x21
There are other errors about not being able to access the disk and eventually
the kernel panics.

OT: VIA Mini-ITX, Asterisk, and hardware
Hello everyone,
Does anyone out there have actual experience with running * on a
mini-itx board from VIA? They look good, but I have some reserves
because of VIA's problems with PCI latency in recent years (audio
dropouts, wierd things happening). I am looking at the EPIA CL-10000.
For $270, I can get a CL-10000 (1ghz C3, dual ethernets, etc), 256mb
RAM, and a nice small (12 x 2 x 11)

Via EPIA Mini-ITX motherboard
i had such problems on my mini-ITX.
when sharing irq's with video or sound card, network traffic during ogg
playing (for example on nfs) or quick moving windows crashed the
interface. ifconfig down/up resolved the problem.
it has been solved for a while now (i couldn't reproduce this problem) i
think.

Via EPIA Mini-ITX motherboard
Just to drag this thread on a bit further ...
I've been looking into these little boxes, thinking I could use one as a
firewall/gateway. My one requirement is that it would need to have two
PCI slots (one can be low-profile), and although I've seen PCI riser
cards that can give me two slots, they've been rare, and cases that are
suitable (i.e have the space, and back panels are

Brainstorm: Running Asterisk as cool as possible - AKA solid state.
I would like to ask what people think the best way would be to build a
low-power consumption, passively-cooled system.
For example, one could use a fanless-Eden (mini-ITX/EPIA) system, but the
loss of FPU power would limit performance. The obvious choice for FPU
work are the Intels and AMDs, nut they're all power-hungry radiators.
Is there something that can offer the quiet, power-savings of

asterisk on mini-itx
Hello,
I'm trying to put together a low cost - low powers PBX appliance for several
customers. I have purchased a couple of the soekris net4801 boards and have
asterisk up and running on them fine but they just don't quite cut it in the
processing power department. I've been able to get about 10 simultaneous SIP
calls with simple ulaw (no encoding decoding). While this might be OK for

looking at my options.
I want a fast processor, 1Gb memory, LAN, 4USB, VGA. Wireless and

mini atx and asterisk (EPIA and the like)
Hi, haven't found anything in google's, i wonder if there is a
comparative page of what to expect from running * on motherboards like
the EPIA and similar ones.
Since i have not used *ever* such kind of mini atx form factor boards,
I have no clue about their performance.

I own a ME600 EPIA Mini-ITX main board with the latest Debian distro

ISOLINUX fails at boot on Award BIOS v6.00PG

I don't know if it's ISOLINUX or a broken BIOS,
this is the first time ever seeing this error.

Sound Problem with * on VIA mini-itx M10K AC97' VT8235 chipset
I've got Asterisk up and running on a VIA mini-itx M10K with a TDM-400 card
but I'm having a terrible time with the sound setup. I tried RH9 and Debian
distributions, with 2.4.18, 20, 22, 24 and 26 kernels. I've used the VIA
drivers, ALSA drivers, OSS drivers and Kernel drivers with varying results.
I can setup the audio to work with a few different applications, 2 channels

[memdisk] remote booting diskless Mini-ITX system
Hi,
As the subject suggests, I am trying to remote boot a Mini-ITX system.
I am using PXELinux as the bootloader,
and Memdisk (2.11) as the 'kernel'. My ramdisk image is a hard drive
image based on PC-DOS.
Two things go wrong during the boot process.
1. "INT 13 08: Failure, assuming this is the only drive" message
2. "Loading boot sector... booting..." message,

Server without keyboard
I'm trying to set up a small machine as a server using a Via EPIA SP 8000E
mini ITX motherboard. It's got a fanless Eden processor and I'm using a SATA
hard drive. The CD drive is removed, as I only wanted it to install CentOS
and don't anticipate needing it again.
My problem is running this machine with CentOS without the keyboard. I've set
the BIOS to ignore keyboard
