OH323 doesnt hear ringing
I have Asterisk running with a combination of SIP and H323 clients. I am using the OH323 module instead of the H323 one.
When the SIP clients ring each other, they can hear a ringing noise in the ear peice to let them know that the other parties phone is ringing. However, when the H323 client rings a SIP client, there is no ringing sound at all, although as soon as the called party picks up the

Extension ringing but no ringing sound.
Greetings,
This is probably some configuration issue, but for some reason my system
has stopped playing a ringing sound when an extension is dialed. The
phone rings but there is no ring sound in the ear piece.

problems with blind transfer on GXP-2000 - Multi tenant asterisk !!
Hello Users,
We have Thirdlane Multi tenant PBX system in production. Asterisk version
is 1.6.2.15.
Attendant transfer is working, but blind transfer is not working with
Grandstream (gxp-2000) phone.
We have read from google that it is a bug in Asterisk 1.6.2.15.
We saw the below links:

Agentcallbacklogin deprecation
I agree with these fella's, this is a piss poor way of fixing it. I
only know of one call center that used static agents, mostly because
they were sold a peice of crap and they had no idea how to use it the
other way. I think you will find the majority of call centers are
callback centers. This decision has taken Asterisk out of the realm of
providing reasonable call center solutions. VIVA

echo sidetone grandstream and tdm400p
Hi all,
thanks to the all of you. This list is very interesting also for a newby like me.
My problem: I just setup my first full working asterisk installation with this
config:
1. n.1 GXP-2000
2. n.4 Budgetone 102
3. n.1 TDM400p (3 FXS, 1 FXO)
Everything seems to work fine, but the sidetone... it's really annoying!
We can hear the sidetone only when we call to the outside (PSTN), it

OT - how to get BT to present a number
If anyone can help me with this I'll be soooo grateful :)
We have a isdn30 line, with a DDI range. We also have 2 business units that
have separate 0870 numbers that are mapped onto 2 DDI numbers.
I would like to be able to present these 0870 numbers from the business
units so that the correct number is displayed on a callerid, or when 1471 is
dialled.
BT claim that I can only have a

Extension Exists
Hi,
When a VOIP user dials an external number, the calls are routed through our SIP provider.
Is there a simple way to check whether the DDI exists locally before dialling out to the sip provider?
Something like GotoIfExists(5551234 at incoming_calls)
Currently, I'm paying for all calls, regardless of whether they exist locally.
All DDIs exist in the incoming_calls context.
Thanks

Digium IP Phones D40
Hi All;
Any one used Digium IP Phones D40?
I need to know if they are stable with good voice quality? Comparing to Polycom 330, which is better? Let us talk frankly although I know that we have to support Digium.

AGI solution to Grandstream BT102 call waiting problem
I'm trying to fix a problem with the GrandStream Budgetone 102. I've been reading the source code, mailing lists and other resources. Here's the scenario and the approach I have been pursuing. I'm having some problems with the AGI calls and I hope someone can give me some clarification.

International dialplans for Asterisk?
Does anyone know the maximum number of
digits for an international phone number?
Doing some searching, it looks like 16
numbers including the "011" is the
maximum number, because 17 is just not

Grandstream Busy Light Fields
Hello !
I am having troubles setting up Busy Light Fields (BLF) in asterisk 1.4.18
The things work up to 80%, I can transfer the call by BLF button and I can
see the green (free) status and red (busy) status.
What I cannot do is to accept the call when someone rings a remote
extension. The BLF button starts to blink in red telling me that the call is
ringing on remote extenson, but if I press it,

Receptionists Phone suggestions? (Not Snom370)
Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent receptionists phone?
Aastra? Grandstream?
Something with (potentially) lots of BLFs, large(ish) screen, headset
and most importantly the ability to transfer calls?
I've installed five Snom 370s that seemed ideal but my client is very
very unhappy as the Snom 370 can't transfer a call correctly if there's
another call coming in (details

Transfer from Grandstream BT100?
Hi,
Does anybody know how to properly execute a transfer (without using the
|Tt option) from a GS100? Scenario:
1. I call from X-PRO (ext 1100) to Grandstream (1101).
2. Grandstream answers. Call is established.
3. Press [TRANSFER] on the Grandstream. X-PRO caller is put on hold.
Grandstream gets dial tone.
4. Grandstream dials 1103 (the extension of another GS100).
5. Grandstream hangs

which TDM to use? DID line from telco with no dial tone and no voltage
as my first project with *, i would like to replace our old
neax2400(sds) with an * server.
i've got an X100p and a TDM400 on hand already.
for the CO lines, the X100p works ok with fxsks signaling though there
are still strange
things happening every now and again but more testing is on the way.
my real big problem is the DID lines which our telcos call DDI lines;

Stange question...
Ok, guys... Please be gentle with me. I have what is going to be the
strangest question you will have ever heard, but I have no idea what to
tell this person.
I set up Asterisk 3 or 4 weeks ago, everything is running smooth. My
receptionist has told me on two different occasions that she tried to
transfer a call by pressing "#", and she heard a buzz noise in the phone

Grandstream hold one way audio -URGENT
Hi all,
At our customer site i've installed one asterisk server with 20
Grandstream GXP2000's. Firmware 1.0.1.9. When someone dials the
customer, the receptionist picks up, and does an attended transfer (the
'grandstream way') to a collegue. Most of the times this goes ok, but
sometimes, when the receptionist puts the call on hold, and tries te
reconnect to the caller there's

[OT] Small SIP phones?
Hi.
Does anyone know of any small SIP phones (and preferably have some experience
of using them and happy to recommend them)?
By 'small' I mean a single-piece phone, with dial buttons in the handset, so
that it can be carried around easily in a laptop bag. Something like
