IAX2 trunking scalability

Asterisk crashes at startup
Hi List, Yesterday night after a power off due to a faulty UPS my asterisk doesn't want to start anymore. Here is what I get on the CLI: Asterisk Ready. *CLI> Disconnected from Asterisk server: Bad file descriptor. Executing last minute cleanups == Destroying musiconhold processes Asterisk uncleanly ending (0). I use 1.2.7 I think on a debian sarge and cdr_pgsql too. Any ideas?

How do you deal with subprefixes with LCR?
Hi List, I am working on least cost routing code on the moment, and I am stumbling on a problem. Say you have provider A having: Prefix XXX 0.10 Prefix XXXYYY 0.20 And provider B having Prefix XXX 0.15 You're stuck, because you cannot decide if provider B's "XXX" prefix also covers XXXYYY numbers or not. PSTN connection via IP/ethernet

TDMoIP and Asterisk
RAD appear to have bucketloads of products which bridge between various interfaces (E1, BRI, POTS) and their own TDMoIP protocol. The attractive thing about them for me is their availability in Australia. Best CoDec for high network latency
Hi, I need to have some SIP extentions on remote places where the latency from my asterisk box with public ip is 1~1.5 seconds. What codec will work fine on this sceneary? I'm planning to use iLBC, is a good choice? Regards, Guillermo.

Recommendations on a WiFi phone for *?
We're getting our feet more and more wet with VOIP at work. We want to experiment with a good wireless (as in WiFi) phone. What would be a good phone to impress my boss with? I'm personally drooling over the UTStarcom F3000, but compatibility and shipping ETA info is a bit sketchy. Phil

Log SRC & DST IP address and PDD
Anyone got a way to pull the Source and Destination IP addresses for a call so they can be logged in a CDR and or CEL? Also anyone got a slick way for registring PDD on calls? Bandwidth Management
Hi, understand that the bandwidth utilized for each call is dependent on the codec used, wonder if Asterisk can monitor the total bandwidth utilized and restrict/reject new calls when the resource is insufficient to support them reliably? queue issue
I have a _very_ specific situation where I need queues to work in a very specific manner - I need the queue to only accept one call at a time, even though several phones are attached to it. My memory tells me that queues might have even worked this way in the distant past (pre 1.0)...but I am willing to be mistaken. Is this even remotely possible? PaulH

* point to point t1 solution?
Can anyone point me to a reference or sample config for bypassing a nailed up (point to point) t1 between two PBXs with asterisk and a pair of t1 cards? Blocked Callerid
I have been discussing an asterisk solution with a company that has a custom written dialogic based solution. The issue is that their dialogic solution can read callerid from incoming calls, even if the callerid is blocked. I have read before that Asterisk can do this, and they want me to make sure that their new system will be able to do this. A quick poke around inside the zaptel source code

Change g729 payload
Hi All, I have a SIP provider that tells me that my RTP stream uses a "20bytes payload in the g729 coded data". And they would like that we change this to 30bytes (3 frames). But maybe I'm wrong but isn't a certain payload just a standard for a codec ? And if I'm wrong, how can I change the payload for my g729 calls in Asterisk. Greetings, Attilla
