IBM BladeCenter HS20 blades
Greetings,
We have purchased an IBM BladeCenter and I am in the process of testing
Linux installation on these things (boot off SAN i.e. qla2300 driver,
not using internal drives). My distro of choice is Debian, however,
since I'm really not interested in trying to hand compile all the
drivers, I decided to try CentOS (which I'm so far very impressed with).
On boot, as with the

OT: reset IBM Bladecenter AMM web access
Hi all,
Sorry for the OT.
Does anyone can share to how to reset an IBM Bladecenter Advance
Management Module web access?
Recently, I've got an IBM Bladecenter chassis E 8677. There's no one in
the office who knows about the IP nor the password for it.
Thank you,

Xen serial console on Bladecenter virtual serial port
Has anyone accessed Xen or the dom0 Linux serial console on the virtual
serial port of a Bladecenter blade via Serial-over-LAN?
Was able to see bios boot screen and access grub boot menu, but only the
first few characters of the kernel boot sequence are shown, then nothing.

LiveCD problem on IBM BladeCenter remote console ?
I've got a IBM BladeCenter with its integral TCPIP KVM and centos and
stuff running on various blades, we use this mostly for software testing
purposes in a small development group.
i wanted to boot the liveCD so I could try and recover some files from a
totally screwed up system (disk got fsck'd beyond what I feel
comfortable repairing)... so I map an ISO image of the CentOS 4.4

Linux on PowerPC 970 (IBM BladeCenter JS20)
Hi,
I'm just wondering if I can run "R" software on IBM BladeCenter JS20
PowerPC 970 based now.
If it's not available, do you have any plan to port it for JS20?
Both Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS3 and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8/9 are
available on JS20.
Thanks.

debug kernel panic on CentOS 4.6/BladeCenter HS21
Hi folks
Today we had a kernel panic. On the RSA-Console[0] we could only see
that the process splunkd was causing the panic. We found nothing else
in logs.
Howto debug this panic? Howto avoid in future?

Xen console on Bladecenter remote KVM
Hello list,
when using Xen on our Bladecenter with the advanced management module
everything works fine, but as soon as I switch the KVM to another blade
and then switch back to xen machine, vga output is unavailable (due to
wrong resolution or hz frequency? But it works if I don''t switch away).
The machine itself works, only vga output is gone after switching kvm
away from the box.

CentOS on IBM Bladecenter HS21
Hello,
I have CentOS 5.2 installed on two of the afore-mentioned blades.
I've noticed that the OS started to crash lately (kernel panic) and I've
been assigned the task to troubleshoot this issue.
I would like to know what is the best way of recovering the kernel
dump after the OS crashes.
I know there are two software implementations that would enable me
to do this, kexec and

x86_64 - Dom0 will not boot on EMT64
I am unable to boot Dom0 on my IBM eServer BladeCenter HS20, type 8843,
EMT64 blades. I have read reports that Dom0 boots on Opteron boxes, but
on my EMT64 blades, it does not. Has anyone else encountered this
problem on EMT64 hardware?
Here are the errors I am getting:

HS20/Debian Xen boot hanging?
Hello,
I''ve tried all the install directions, all the wiki howtos, etc, and
haven''t been able to startup a Xen domain 0 properly. So far i''ve tried:
- install from binary (2.6.11.12)
- install from source (2.6.11.12)
- aptitude install xen-system (2.6.11.12)
and they all hang when trying to boot. Here''s my typical grub entry:

This thread suggests that mmconfig might be the issue, in which case
does adding "mmcfg=0" to your hypervisor command line help?
I'd recommend continuing to pursue this upstream, there are far more

CentOS 3 / tg3 driver on an HS20 Blade
Greetings:
I know it's been mentioned before that the tg3 driver in CentOS 3.4 is
buggy. I had to revert to 3.4 today from 4 (fresh install) and now I
have no link and thus no network. I'm wondering if this is caused by
this bug and what the work-around is.
Thanks.

Bug#760563: Bug#760563: xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64: Xen >=4.1 not booting on IBM HS20
Hi,
First of all, thanks for your help.
I have made some test with this results
debian testing with xen 4.4 can run if we add mmcfg=0 as boot options
to kernel boot parameters !!! Remember that with xen kernel <=4.0
works perfect without to add mmcfg=0
I have tried to install citrix xenserver 5.6 and works perfect
(remember that this is xen 3 branch)
Also we have tried to install xenserver
