Echo on SPA-3000 FXO
I've had an spa3k in service here at the house for a while now. After some initial wrangling, it's been working okay. I've had to reboot it a couple times and have noticed something rather annoying though. My setup is pretty simple and, dare I say, common. I have the SPA-3000 "inline" between my incoming POTS line and the internal house phone. It's setup to deliver

Sangoma FXO/FXS cards?
Saw an ad in the latest Linux Journal for Sangoma's FXO/FXS analog cards. it was part of an ad for a reseller. I can't find anything on the resellers site or Sangoma's site either. Did the ad jump the gun or someting? Is this for real? Paul -- Paul Dugas, Computer Engineer Dugas Enterprises, LLC paul@dugas.cc phone: 404-932-1355 522 Black Canyon Park

SPA-3000 generating one-ring calls
This is a wierd one. Can't figure it out. I have an SPA-3000 at the house handling my incoming line. It's setup to direct the incoming call to asterisk. Works great 99% of the time. A few times a day, I'm getting calls that ring once internally and are then hungup. I managed to get a detailed log [1] of what's happening today and it looks to me that the SPA is acting wierd.

(Semi-OT) QoS Question FTP Living with Asterisk
I have searched google and came up with too many options and packages that may or may not work for my needs, most articles seem to be for setting up routers. Maybe someone on the list can give me some better insight. I have monitoring turned on my "shift eight (tm)" (Asterisk ;-)) box for all calls. We have over one hundred agents and tons of recordings in wav format. I also

Bullet-proof FXO?
Been using a few different FXO interfaces (X100P, Voicetronix, and SPA-3000) at a couple sites and they've all run into nasty issues at times. I'm looking at moving one of my offices and am in the market for a solution for connecting 4 FXOs. I got excited about recent offerings from Digium and Sangoma in the way of new cards but I hear they're causing troubles for more than a few.

Strange Inbound Ring Handling
Got a wierd one that's reminding me of a problem mentioned in an earlier post but for the life of me, I can't find it. So... Inbound calls via a Voicetronix interface on my Asterisk box are being properly detected and routed to my dialplan as expected. It's a simple plan right now that rings a few internal Voicetronix and SIP stations. When the inbound line rings, it's ringing

dialing 0 in directory()
I've got a context in my dialplan like so but pressing 0 doesn't seem to be working. Instead of dropping out to the "o" extension, it's just returning to the start of the direcotry app. Same with star. Anyone see where I've gone awry? SIP NAT + m0n0wall 1:1 mapping
I know a SIP client behind a NAT trying to peer with Asterisk behind another NAT is troublesome. Has anyone had any luck doing this by interfacing Asterisk to the WAN using 1:1 NAT translation to give it a public IP while still firewalled? In my instance I'm using m0n0wall, but this is a hardware-neutral question. Thanks. -- Robert Goodyear Brand Up LLC http://www.brand-up.com

[OT] Disconnect Tone in US
I have a SPA-3000 that is failing to hanging up pretty often; almost every day now. The weird thing is that an almost identically configured (same FW, different HW rev) second unit right next to it isn't having the same problem. Swap the lines and the problem stays with the unit. I've been going round and round with Sipura and their latest message told me to use a procedure detailed in

Connecting ethX devices directly to a KVM/QEMU guest OS (no bridging)
Hello CentOS gurus, and a belated Happy New Year (or an early Happy Chinese New Year). I'm in the process of building a CentOS-6 KVM host machine whose only function will be to run four independent 'm0n0wall' firewall guest instances. I have a couple of quad-port Intel NICs to provide four WAN-side and four LAN-side ports, which will not be shared with any other guests. Remote

New Embedded Distro
Hi All, A couple of weeks ago I noticed Askozia PBX, which is a new embedded Asterisk & OS distro at http://askozia.com/pbx. This caught my attention for two reasons; it uses v1.4 of Asterisk, and it uses the m0n0wall development framework to build on FreeBSD with a PHP based GUI. I've used m0n0wall for years, and FreeNAS also, which shares the same OS/GUI framework. I booted the latest

looking for input on broadband router with QoS and VPN support
Hi, We're installing an * box next week (pbxtra from fonality) and I'm trying to come up with a solution for remote users that want a phone in their home. I need VPN and QoS capability, wireless support would be a nice to have. Ethernet handoff is fine, i don't need integrated dsl or cable modem... I've been googling and cruising the list and can find bits and pieces

OT: SIP aware firewalls?
Hi All, Until now I've only used IAX2 to connect to ITSPs. I've been toying with a SIP connection to Gizmo Project, but not yet successfully. It brings to mind a question. At what point does it make sense to consider a SIP-aware firewall such as those from Ingate? I'd hate to move away from my m0n0wall, which is open source, easy to manage and has served me brilliantly for two

[Bridge] Help: Bridge and NAT through same NIC?
I am so out of my depth on this one, but I would welcome some help. I have the following network and did get it to work with m0n0wall (a BSD firewall) an option called "transparent bridge". I've switched to Clark Connect because of its support for content filtering, and installed bridge-utils. I have a home network based a single WAN-facing NIC, eth0, that gets a public IP address

Digium TDM400P in Soekris net5501-70?
Hello - I've been running Asterisk (quite happily!) for several years now using a Digium TDM400P card in an old Linux box (P4 1.6 w/ 256MB RAM). I'm also running another old PC running m0n0wall as a firewall. Between these two boxes, that run 24x7, I'm drawing a lot more power than needed and hoping to make a dent in my monthly electric bill by consolidating the two into a single box
