What do you think about this motherboard?
Hello all..... I would like to know if anyone here has had good experience with this Supermicro motherboard.....http://supermicro.com/products/motherboard/P4/E7221/P8SCT.cfm I am thinking about using it in an entry level mail and file server with a 3ware card and 200 GB SATA drives. Cost is a factor here otherwise I would go for an Opteron board instead. JC

Problems joining existing domain W2K SP4 and Samba 2.2.8a
Hi all, I seem to be having some weird problems while trying to add a workstation to an existing domain. Samba 2.2.8a is running on FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE-p17 and all the clients have Windows 2000 Professional with SP4 installed. This particular workstaion was part of the domain until its hard drive went under. The drive had to be replaced with a new one, the OS was installed and now when I try to

TE210P mother board
Hi all, I'm going to configure a middle asterisk installation. I'll use a TE210P to connect a T1 channel bank and a PRI E1 line. I'm thinking on using a SuperMicro P8SCT Mother Board that has a 1x 64-bit 133MHz PCI-X 3.3V. In TE210P documentation I've read: The TE210P is a 32-bit 33MHz card keyed for 3.3 volt operation. Can SuperMicro slot (that is a 133Mhz slot) be used

Serverworks HT1000 chipset drivers (Supermicro H8SSL motherboard)
Anyone using boards with this chipset? I've gotten some dual core single cpu boxes along with the physical dual cpu boxes I just received and they're using the Serverworks HT1000 (Broadcom 5785) chipset. My CentOS 4.2 DVD doesn't want to recognize the chipset so I can't see any of the SATA drives in the integrated SATA ports. Drives on 3Ware cards work as expected, but I

CentOS 4 and multi TB storage solutions
Hi, I am currently searching for storage solutions to use in an environment with two CentOS servers. Both are web/MySQL servers hosting several web applications that forward HTTP requests for files to storage servers (all with 3ware cards offering RAID5 arrays) that collectively serve 10TB of images. The data grows by 2TB every year. This has been working so far but this current implementation

Supermicro PDSME+ and TE110P [ ref:00D36mPe.50033qy57:ref ] NEW CASE 22828
Hello, Digium support kindly proposed to ship a TE120P card to help resolve the issue. I plugged in the card, and introduced the loopback plug. I cleared the red alarm for a while and then i started seeing alarm switching from Yel/Recovering to Blue/Rec with a lot of IRQ Misses. I call Digium that assisted us, and we noticed IRQ sharing with the VGA adapter and the Ethernet port. I changed

Comments? Supermicro P4SGE P4 FCPGA MB and Digium cards
I'm wondering if anyone has had any good/bad/indifferent experiences with Supermicro P4SGE P4 FCPGA motherboards and Digium cards? I'm looking to use this MB in an E100P E1 card solution, and I haven't had the ability to test with that configuration before I ship a system overseas (since I don't have an E1 to plug into it, it's hard for me to test, and I don't have

4.4/64-bit Supermicro/ Nvidia Sata RAID Driver
Hi, I am installing Centos ServerCD 4.4 64-bit on a new Supermicro board, the RAID BIOS looks fine, RAID 5, all 4 Seagate ES 250 GB drives show up as a single array in the RAID BIOS tool, and the OS install phase completes without a hitch. One thing I noticed was that the OS was loading the sata_nv driver and picking up the 4 Sata drives instead of the large RAID5 volume, it should just

supermicro with asterisk and tdm cards
Guys. Anybody using supermicro mobos and chassis with TDM cards? I would like to know which models are you using (mobos and chassis and also CPUs) and how many TDM cards have you been able to put in without having IRQ issues like in other cases. Ive read supermicro servers play nice with asterisk but it is always good to ask I guess. Thx! AK

OT supermicro server chassis?
Does anyone have a supermicro 942i server chassis? I'm trying to figure out if it has a true nine 5.25" drive bays, or if the one occupied by the 3.5" caddy is special / crippled. What I want to do is install three of the supermicro 5x3 hot swap backplanes and I'm gunshy about buying one site unseen. Thanks! Gordon

Digium and Intel Chipset compatability
Hi, I'm going to be setting up some machines with 4 port E1 cards from Digium and I'm being told that TE410 is incompatable with several Intel chipsets including the ones in a lot of Dell server systems. Is this true? I can't find any confirmed details on the mailing list about it. Also, the email seems to imply that the TE405P will be fine, though it doesn't say that explicitly.

Supermicro Adaptec AIC-9410 HostRAID controller
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 1) Has anyone been able to get their AIC-9410 controller recognized in CentOS 5.3? I'm working with a Supermicro X7DBR-3 motherboard. It has 2 "ICH Raid Codebase" options in the Bios (Intel and Adaptec); neither of which seem to change Linux's behavior. The interesting part though, choosing either Adaptec or Intel, then performing

Supermicro & Boot Failures with DVD Centos 6.2
Eve.8ryone, I have had a SuperMicro machine running Centos 5.8 that had been progressively updated with yum-cron from a 5.0 CD install. I upgraded the SuperMicro with more memory, switched out the CD with a DVD and tried to boot to the Centos x64 6.2 dvd. My plan was to test the memory before I added the hard drives, but I could not I could not get the machine to boot from the disc. I also

Supermicro P4SGA board?
Anyone have any experience/knowledge on the Supermicro P4SGA motherboard? Supermicro's tech support suggested that specific MB as a low latency board with a reasonable pci bus. Expect to use this with the Digium TDM fxo card. Comments?
