IAXy Port number
The file used with a Digium IAXy device: "iax.conf"
has the line: "port=5036" (I also use the "bindaddr=192.168.1.91" entry)
but when Asterisk talks to the IAXy device it
used port 4569 (from "tcpdump"). How are the port numbers assigned?
What tells the IAXy which port to use. The IAXy provisioning file
"iaxy.conf" file does not specify a port

IAXy Configuration
I can't seem to get this device to grab an ip from dhcp. We have a
working dhcp server (unfortunately it is on Windows), but I don't show
any leases requested by the iaxy.
Anyone have any ideas?
The ethernet and phone lines are plugged in before the device is powered.
Thanks,
Erik

IAXy Configuration for Alternate Server
Hi,
I've provisioned an IAXy adapter on a network segment local to my
asterisk server. Provisioning is fine, as is the registration and use of
said device. Since the local address is private address space, I setup
the public IP address of my Asterisk server as the alternate. When
taking it to another location (NAT again behind a WRT54G), it doesn't
seem to work. Here's my current

IAXy Static... and other issues
Hey Everyone,
I recently purchased a few IAXy units for some testing, and have come
across a some problems.
One of them can be provisioned but will not ring the connected
telephone. It also does not provide a dial tone when you pick up the
phone. When a call is made to the IAXy one of the green lights on the
board goes from a solid on state, to a flashing state that coincides

Office to Office via IAX2 problems
I'm going to try and lay out all the relevant information I have here
in this one post. I can provide more info if necessary.
ISSUE 1:
Office A routinely looses connection to Office B. When typing IAX2
Show Peers, it will show as Unreachable. I issue IAX2 Reload and it
will work again for 1-3 days (haven't narrowed the time down yet). My
theory is that the DSL at Office2 is changing

IAXy - no dailtone
I have a brand new IAXy I'm playing with. I do not get a dialtone on
the phone, or any response at ll on the phone. No sound, no dialing, no
ringing. The phone and wire are tested and known to be good. I think I
have it setup correctly. When I give the iaxprov command I get this:

IAXy Provisioning Using Windows
For anyone playing around with IAXy(S100i) devices, I am making the
following available:
Windows IAXy Provision v1.00
This is a from-the-ground-up development of a means of provisioning IAXy
devices using a Windows environment. For some users, being bound to Linux
for IAXy provisioning is not viable or convenient in some cases. This
application provides a GUI data entry for the various IAXy

IAX2 bridging = one way audio
Our * box is behind NAT with 4569 forwarded to it. I'm using stable 1-0
version. We're pure VoIP. Our SIP phones can use * to dial out, and can
receive incoming calls, and conference in another SIP. However, if we try
to conference 2 IAX connections together, we'll get one-way audio for one
of the connected IAX devices. I found that this also happens if I use an
IAXy to call out from *

IAXy ring frequency
Hello all,
In changing the phone connected to my IAXy I remembered that this
phone will not ring on the standard frquency (20hz?) when connected to
the FXS. There is a patch, one line to change in wcfxs.c for use with
a TDM400P, but obviously this doesn't change the FXS on the IAXy.
Is there any possibiity of a "patch" for the provisioning data to
raise the frequency to 25hz on the

Iaxy and Echo
I have been searching for a while and can't find anything specific like this.
Here's is my setup:
IAXy -- broadband network -- Asterisk -- TE110P -- Channel Bank -- POTS lines (FXO)
Everything works fine except for the echo at the IAXy. There is no echo on the POTS end, so Asterisk is doing a good job of echo canceling. Is there any provisioning in the IAXy to do echo

How do i "talk" to the IAXy...? (Newbie Alert)
Hi,
hoping that experienced hands will quickly show me the right way: after a
fruitless web search i am turning to this list with my rather elementary
question: is there any other way to communicate with the IAXy besides using
special utility software that needs to be compiled under UNIX?
Here is the story: about two months ago, after some not very satisfactory
attempts at using SIP (my phone

IAXy provisioning
Hi.
I am trying to provision my newly purchased IAXy.
I tried
./iaxyprov 192.168.0.4 myiaxy.conf
It print a bunch of numbers on screen and then
say
Provisioning is 63 bytes
Total packet is 77 bytes
Got response back from '192.168..0.4'
And that's it. I didnt get nothing else and there isnt any solid yellow light
after minutes. I wonder if anyone could explain what I'm seeing? Is

IAXy and DHCP
Hi,
I've got an IAXy, and provided it with connection
data - unfortunately didn't provide a fixed ip address,
but left with dhcp.
Everthing went fine, and I could work a while with it.
After a restart of IAXy, it didn't negotiate a new
IP address, nor used the old one. I even restarted
the DHCP server and cleared its cache. No success.
I went to another office with a different

Digium Iaxy S100 Factory Default?
Hi All,
I have two old S100 units (the blue ones, not the newer black ones). I
am trying to reset these to factory default using the following
instructions, but it is not working. Does anyone have any other
suggestions to reset this model of the adapter?
Tried this:
1. Remove all of the cables, except for the power cable.
2. The factory reset button is next to the RJ45 jack. Press and hold

IAXy echo avoidance/cancellation
Ok, I searched the lists and found no definitive answer. I'm assuming
the IAXy has some primitive form of echo cancel, is there anyway to
adjust this? Or any ideas on what to do instead. Here's the setup, this
will not be a typical setup for our company however, well whatever.
Anyway it looks like this:
IAXy --> Netgear router --> Charter --> Level3 --> Asterisk --> VOIP or

IAXY Polarity
Yesterday I was using one of the cheap Radio Shack phone polarity on various
phone outlets in my house and ended up plugging it into my IAXY. While the
regular phone jacks tested OK, the IAXY tested as being reverse polarity.
The tester was plugged directly into the IAXY so there is no chance of this
being caused by crossed wires.
Is this something that is misconfigured on the IAXY, a hardware
