Sayson IP Phones?
Have the Sayson IP phon started to deliver yet? I'm thinking about two new phones for my office and considering the Sayson 480i and Zultys 4x4. Would also consider the Virbiage phone if it becomes available. I have Snom 200s and a Pingtel phone at the moment. Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist

Does anyone online have an opinion on these? I've used 500/510/6001/601 models before. Need to know if these apparently lesser models can be provisioned in the same way. Are end uers happy with them? Call Relaying
Hello All, I have a small * server in my home office with several IP phones. The system is not fully in service yet as I'm still hunting for a cost effective FXO adapter that I can rely upon for my two primary PSTNs. That said, I'd like to move it into service for another application...which brings up a question. I'd really like to stop making international calls from my cell phone

Asterisk VS. Skype
This might have been talked about before, but I'm posting anyhow. I've got down to testing Asterisk yesterday, and I couldn't help but compare it with Skype (a Windoze only product, yet, but extremely efficient for some reason). Skype has almost unperceptible delay (LAN), while there is almost half a second of delay regardless of the codec on Asterisk. An even if we were to

Xorcom Rapid CD for Production?
Hi All, The past day or so I've setup a new * server based upon the Xorcom Rapid ISO. It did as promised; wiped the base system, installed Debian OS, installed Asterisk with a dummy configuration. So far so good. If I could get the config from my existing * server migrated to the Xorcom box the I'd be ready to roll. Essentially, it would be the same as I have now on Fedora Core 1, but

Snom phones?
Hi, everyone: I'm in the processing of deciding what IP phones we should use with our Asterisk server, and I wanted to get feedback from the user community on the quality, reliability and ease of operation of Snom phones. What do you have to say about these phones? Are there other phones you'd suggest along with or instead of Snom? Thanks, -Stephen-

T-1 vs channelised T-1?
OK. Now I show my ignorance. What's the difference between a T-1 and a channelised T-1? I see that Covad's voip service (formerly GoBeam) requires a channelised T-1. Then I read recently on the list that many T-1s being installed are actually HDSL....which would be not a T-1 at all...right? Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist

Residential router w/ QoS support?
Did anybody ever come across an affordable, residential cable/dsl router with support for QoS? The ones I've seen so far (Netgear, D-Link and W-Linx) do not seem to support it. I noticed that even email can damage a G.711 stream on an 128kbit uplink, leave alone file-sharing applications. I understand this is strictly related to *, but nevertheless of interest to many of us. Thilo

Aastra phones?
Sorry for being a little off topic, but I'mconsidering a few new phones for my Asterisk installation. I have a mix of Polycom 500/600s and an Aastra 480i CT. I'm considering adding a couple of Aastra 57i or 57i CT. Does anyone here have experience with the 480i CT and the newer 57i CT? I'm curious as to the real differences. Can One FXO Support Multiple Phone Lines?
I am currently having our new office wired up with 8 PSTN lines. The guy asked me if he could wire it up such that one line had two phone numbers. I bought a Sangoma A200 with 8 FXO ports, but now I'm wondering if all I needed were 4 FXO ports. Is it possible to set up Asterisk with 2 numbers per FXO? Thanks for any help, Andrew -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment

PSGw 2.0 Skype<>SIP gateway
Hello, I bought a copy of this software in the hope of bridging Skype into my * box. It sort of works but the audio is all distorted and there's huge latency. Does someone have this working well with their * server? According to the wiki someone does, but I don't know who. I'm needing advise on what to fiddle with to get it working correctly. Thanks Michael -- Michael Graves

Using IAXTel to dial FWD
Hi All, Is this working for any of you? We're supposed to be able to dial FWD accounts through IAXTel by dialing 170099+FWD number. I don't ever seem to be able to do this even though I can dial 800 numbers through IAXTel. Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist www.pixelpower.com Pixel Power Inc.

Stopping reinvite with IAX2?
Hi All, I'm using DISA on my * server to avoid overseas toll charges when making calls to Western Europe from my cell phone. I have DISA working with a DID from a VoicePulse Connect account. The outgoing call to Europe is also made via Voicepulse Connect. I see that the IAX media path is bridging the inbound call to the outbound call so that the media stream entirely bypasses my server once
