Mplayer as replacement to mgp123 in MP3Player cmd
There is a patch to mplayer that allows it to suppress stdout messages
and instead output pcm data to stdout. I managed to get it working with
app_mp3.c and seems like it is working fine. All that was needed was a
change in the execl line and a slight increase in timeout value. I have
only done limited testing. If mplayer is able to replace mpg123 without
issues, this opens up a whole lot of

F-test degree of freedoms in lme4 ?
I have a problem moving from multistratum aov analysis to lmer.
My dataset has observations of ampl at 4 levels of gapf and 2 levels of bl
on 6 subjects levels VP, with 2 replicates wg each, and is balanced.
Here is the summary of this set with aov:

iax.cc opinion request
I am considering using iax.cc (sixtel) and wondering if anyone had
opinions, good or bad. Are there outages with any regularity? How
responsive are tech support? How is packet loss? I am particularly
interested in termination to the UK, but will accept any comments people
have.
Thanks

Sprint Nextel sueing over VoIP patents
Sprint Nextel is sueing vonage, voiceglo and theglobe.com for infringing
on VoIP patents. Sprint Nextel claims to have about 100 patents on VoIP
technologies. Does anyone know which ones this article is talking
about, and if so does asterisk have any of those features?
The reason I am asking is that the article is vague, Vonage uses a
fairly standard codec set, I dont know about the others.

Re: setting up asterisk to handle incoming SIP URI
I would like to setup my Asterisk server to process an incoming SIP
URI and redirect all requests to a specific context.
Example:
(1) using a sip phone I'd like to be able to call: sip:somedomain.com
*or* sip:someone@somedomain.com
(2) i'd like my asterisk server to answer the call and route it to
the context=in-from-sipclient which would play thru some DP actions
Can anyone give

Who is going to AstriCon (TheAsteriskConference)?
Well I'm stunned no one has suggested a webcast option.
I mean we aren't talking a bunch of people unable to grasp the concepts
of chat/voice/vision sessions with a log in/remote display capability.
If you think this is an option let me know I have someone who has some
software they wouldn't mind stress testing as a trial.
Cheers,
Dean

voip provider request
I am looking for a voip provider that provides good rates (below 5
cents/min or unlimited) to UK NCFA numbers. Braodvoice advertises they
do unlimited to NCFA but does not have the ability to actually termiate
those calls as per the CTO Nathan Stratton, and last he said they dont
even have contracts in place to get service provisioned for that. As
such I am looking for another provider to take

bluetooth audio and asterisk
Has anyone successfully used a standard bluetooth enabled system to
connect to a standard bluetooth enabled mobile phone (not the bluetooth
to FXS converters) to create an audio path for phone calls with
asterisk, if so is there a writeup on what was done so that others can
replicate this.
What I am thinking is that via alsa/oss/whatever you should be able to
use the bluetooth audio channel as a

Enhanced Podcasts with Ogg Vorbis (Chapter Marks)
Hello list!
Since it is more and more common these days to create enhanced podcasts
(= audio files with additional chapter markers [1]), I am searching for
an alternative to the currently used MP4 format.
ID3 also puplished an official standard for chapters [2], but nobody
seems to use and support it.
Now I am trying to get something similar with vorbis audio (and maybe an

Parentheses for precedence?
I''m not sure whether this is a bug or whether I''m simply expecting
Ferret queries to work in a way other than they''re intended.
I notice that if use a query like:
(other_text:"Collaborative tools") AND NOT other_text:podcasts
I''ll get correct search results. However, if I put parentheses around
the second part, like:

Read vector as multi-dimensional data in R by row
Dear R users
Say I wanted to read a vector into R as multi-dimensional array by row,

does anyone have knopsterisk for download, I assume that because its GPL
the creator of that iso cant restrict spreading it. A friend wanted it
to play on a box and the only thing I can find with google is the

New and need help
Hello everyone. I haven't used Icecast yet but I'm hoping it can help me
with what I want to do.
I listen to podcasts a lot. Most of the time I'm at work I have something
playing in the background. The problem is once one ends I have to select
another to play. Or if they have all been played I can't use the auto next
feature.
So what I would like to do is setup a machine

Outgoing spool file ignored
Hi list,
I'm using asterisk to send alerts via phone or fax, by using the spool
functionnality (writing files in /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing). The
system works, but sometimes a file in the outgoing directory is simply
ignored by asterisk (nothing on the cli); the spool file is correct.
It happenned only twice since the system is installed (about two
months), but since it is an alert

MOS Scores and LCR
Is there any tool that can do LCR for Asterisk but also take into
account MOS scores?
Is it possible to automatically generate MOS scores on random "calls"
so as to keep an updated database on a per provider, per destination,
per time-of-day score? Hopefully, with that information we can create
a better LCR module or script?
Thanks,
Daniel
