Asterisk dies after 3-6 hours of operation. Help!
Greetings I have been running * for about a month now. Configuration. (5) Cisco 79xx IP phones (1) XP100P Pentium III (300mhz) 192meg memory Redat 8.0 (updated) It seems to run for about 3-6 hours, then the process stops. I have noticed, that * does not stop, if I do NOT have it register to other sip servers. (FWD and PCH). Here is are the last few lines in the /var/log/asterisk/messages

Extended SIP registration failures
I had some complaints today that one of my incoming SIP numbers was failing for several hours. I looked at my console and didn't see anything unusual but SIP show registry confirmed that my registrations were in a failed state. I did a SIP reload and saw this in the output: Sep 22 18:54:48 NOTICE[9997]: sched.c:296 ast_sched_del: Attempted to delete nonexistent schedule entry 312896!

registration not timing out?
every few days my ADSL connection gets dropped for a few seconds. When it does I find my SIP connection to one of my providers does not timeout and retry. Does the following give some clues? Asterisk 1.2.13, Copyright (C) 1999 - 2006 Digium, Inc. and others. (note this is the debian etch/testing package, I can build a new one if needed) .. CLI> sip show registry Host

Asterisk behind NAT << How to do it.
Thanks to ww and his patch on bug #104, I have successfully implemented Asterisk behind NAT without using STUN or anything crazy. It's quite straight forward. Until this gets tested enough and put into CVS, you will have to patch your chan_sip.c file to do this. I'm sure within the next few days this will get put merged into CVS if no one finds any problems. I tried this on chan_sip.c

problem with firefox
Just out of curiosity, has anyone noticed a problem that has developed with firefox? This started on both of my machines after the newest updates. I'll be at a website, even the mozilla website, and when I click on a link to go to another part of the site or to download a file, Firefox will just simply close. It's random for the most part, but it happened quite often at the sourceforge.net

Dropbox on CentOS 6?
Hi, I just spent a couple of unnerving hours trying to make Dropbox work on CentOS 6.6. Is there a way that 1. Actually works? 2. Doesn't include jumping through burning loops? Error on new install "View Application''s Environment"
Hello. I recently installed Rails on Gentoo, and did a "rails /var/www/localhost/htdocs/parallel_bible/" just to test. Everything *seemed* to work fine, but when I clicked on the "View your Application''s Environment" link, this happens (screenshot attached): http://thegoban.com/rorerror.png Any ideas? Is this normal? I know it''s not actually stopping me

HPLIP vs. CentOS
Hi, Our local school has recently acquired an HP PageWide Pro 477 professional printer. According to HP, the printer requires HPLIP 3.16.3 at least. Unfortunately, CentOS is only shipping HPLIP 3.15.9. So I downloaded and installed the hplip/hplipfull package from the HP site. Installing this thing and getting it to work is not exactly a trivial task, as I documented in my blog:

Director questions
In playing with dovecot director, a couple of things came up, one related to the other: 1) Is there an effective maximum of directors that shouldn't be exceeded? That is, even if technically possible, that I shouldn't go over? Since we're 100% NFS, we've scaled servers horizontally quite a bit. At this point, we've got servers operating as MTAs, servers doing IMAP/POP

Source code of early S versions
According to Wikipedia: "In 1980 the first version of S was distributed outside Bell Laboratories and in 1981 source versions were made available." but I've been unable to locate any version of S online. Does anyone have a copy, somewhere, rusting away on an old hard disk or slowly flaking off a tape? I've had a rummage round the CMU Statlib on archive.org but no sign of it,

interesting kvm lvm collision issue
I've been running into a reproducible problem when using default LVM volume group names to present block devices for virtual machines in KVM, and I'm wondering why it is happening. On dom0 I make a default VolGroup00 for the operating system. I make a second VolGroup01 for logical volumes that will be block devices for virtual systems. In VolGroup01, I make two lv's for one system:

389 Directory Server broken on CentOS 7

Upgraded system : yum update. Configured EPEL without customizing anything. And all the 389-related packages installed successfully. So I guess the problem comes from my base configuration.
