What hardware would you recommend?
I have 3 locations I want to connect using (*) servers. 1 of those has a single BRI with a Siemens DECT PABX. 1 of those has two BRI's with 2 Siemens DECT PABX's, each serving a different area. 1 of those has two BRI's and a 2 port Nova Compact PABX with DECT First step would be to set up the (*) servers and have them interconnected. When all of that works we'd go on to connect

Com-On-Air (PCI/PCMCIA) chan drivers?
Does anybody know whether somebody ever implemented (linux) drivers or a chan component for the Com-On-Air cards, or is the only way to make it work the use of a Windows box as Dect to SIP gateway for *? (Or does it work at all?) I can still get the cards, which would be great to retire the old DECT based PBX, but it would be of little use if it's not going to work, now is it? ;-) --

Just let whiners whine... Please?
There'll be whiners on all lists, and no list is ever going to be pleasing everybody... (And everyone should decide for themselves whether or not they belong to that group, as I will not be mentioning names! I'm sure there are those who'll think *I* am a whiner...) So at some point just let it be and continue the thread. Keeping on and on about it only increases noise to post

Using asterisk as the recording server
Hello team; While am aware and active user of astersk monitor function for recording, i would like to know if i can use asterisk as a pure recording server(like nice or witness) for some other PABX's extensions (both inbound, outbound and internal). Setup PSTN---Legacy PABX(with analogy n digital extensions)--- asterisk(record Legacy PABX extensions.) Sam -------------- next part

DECT to SIP gateway experiences
G'day. I hope this isn't off-topic for the list. I am looking at an Asterisk setup that includes cordless phones. The three choices I can see, at this stage, are: * wifi phones * an ATA and a cordless analog phone * a DECT to SIP basestation The various wifi phone options don't grab us as suitable -- they are costly, have poor battery life and even the best have pretty mixed

peer-to-peer RTP trouble in SIP
Hey, We have asterisk 1.2.4 (old I know) with a couple of snom phones, a couple of grandstream phones and around 65 philips dect stations. Now the problem: All calls do peer to peer RTP except the calls from dect station to dect station. snom to dect or dect to snom do peer to peer. So the sip config looks fine because all the 'static deskphones' honor the REINVITE and start talking to

BRI Error with zaphfc
Hi I have a small ISDN PABX , (BRI) at home - Siemens Gigaset 4175 which has cordless DECT extensions. I have set up asterisk on FC3 with two HFC cards and I am using the latest bristuff. I am trying to use * between my ISDN line and my PABX. One card is in TE mode and can receive and make calls OK. I can make and receive external calls to a SIP phone. I cannot get the other card to talk to my

DECT delay once hungup
I've got the following setup: IAXy -> Dect Base Station. When you dial from a SIP phone (cisco 7960), the rings with very little delay. However, if you hangup it takes 3-4 rings after hanging up before the dect base station phone stops ringing. The same applies when an incoming call is directed from PSTN FXO -> Dect Base. Is there a fix to this I've looked about on voip-info but

Anyone that know of DECT "client" for asterisk?
Anyone here that knows some hardware USB "client" (DECT) that can connect to a DECT base station and act as a "provider" in asterisk? Ergo, asterisk is the DECT handset, and connects to the DECT base station. Its also important that it also works with most asterisk-compatible devices, including for example raspberry's. The reason I ask, is that many providers in

Wi-SIP vs. SIP-DECT
Anybody care to muse on Wi-SIP vs. SIP-DECT? My limited research indicates that none of the WiSip phones will ever be able to match the performance of DECT phones. Maybe I'm wrong but a Wi-SIP phone seems like a DIESEL sports car. There is nothing wrong with the technology, but it seems like a shoe-horned fit into the requirements of a wireless endpoint. DECT uses a wireless radio layer

OT - Is handover included in DECT GAP ?
Hi, Do you if a DECT-GAP (or DECT-CAP) compliant handset MUST or MAY support roaming and handover and are these functions transparent for handset (then, these functions are implemented in DECT base stations) ? [NEWBIE] Right dect to buy to use with asterisk
Hello, I need to setup this configuration: - asterisk as IVR; - dect phones. So basically I need a "standard set" of features: - each dect phone has its extension so I can call it directly; - handover of a call with "R" key; - if a call is not replied by someone ring all phones. I have little budget. I can choose to buy a fritz!box or a gigasect dect/ip base station. Which

Intro to DECT vs IP
We've deoplyed a number of pure VoIP wireless (wifi & proprietary) phones, but not dect. Is there a simple overview of integrating DECT phones with Asterisk somewhere? I assume the DECT basestation has a multi-account SIP VoIP interface, and the handsets are just plain old dect? Can you push configuration info to individual phones? (Are they individually addressible / configurable

DECT Solution

So far I found http://www.grandstream.com/index.php/products/ip-voice-telephony/enterprise-ip-phones/dp715_710 However is there some cheap base station(similar to GSM cell) so I can handle all DECT phones centralized and plug it inside asterisk ? Thanks, Peter

[probably OT] wireless voip converter
Sory if this is offtopic or rude, but I guess some people here might have the experience... I'm looking for a product to connect my 30-some DECT users to the voip (SIP) network. Some kind of DECT base station that connects to ethernet and supports the sip protocol. And it should have the capacity to support 30 (or maybe even more) users simultaneously. Does anyone know of a product like

DECT gateways
Heya list, I need some advice/experience. Some of our customers are asking us about DECT solutions for their asterisk install. Some others will not go to asterisk if there won't be a DECT solution. They now have a Siemens or a Samsung PBX. Those PBX-es come with a DECT basestation and optionally repeaters etc. All those basestations speak some own protocol to the PBX, so we cannot use them
