Multi-ISP :- Multi-Wan Broadband Router Appliance VS Multiple eth Linux routing
Hi all
I need to use three 512 kbps aDSL internet connections, in a load-sharing,
link-failover scenario. Presently I am using Ipcop with a single DSL. Now, I
seem to have two options...one..an Edimax quad wan port adsl router, with
firewalling and NAT and second install a minimal linux distro for
routing...something on the lines of LARTC....and keep NATTING, IDS &

How to bind 2 WAN 1 LAN ?
You need a combination of iptables and iproute2 to do what you want =
because
routing is based on it's DESTINATION address and you need to route on =
your
SOURCE address so it uses a different route depending on which source =
IP is
in the packet..
Refer to this page which is sort of what you want BUT not exact. It'll =
give
you some ideas...

My problem is how to use that with linux-igd.

Trying to use CentOS 5.2 to make a WAN Router
I have a CIDR block of IP addresses that I need to pass through to a WAN.
I am trying to have a CentOS 5.2 basic install with 2 NICs be the
router/gateway between the WAN and the public IP CIDR block.
Has anyone done this?
Other than turning on IP forwarding what did you have to do?

dual wan, dual router, one machine behind, route from both to / from one machine
i apologize if this has been asked before, but things are too busy to
preclude a full search of the list.
i have both cable and dsl from the local providers here. due to wiring
issues here, i''ve been forced to put the cable modem in one end of the house
and the dsl modem in the other.
the cable modem is firewalled off by a cisco pix 501 (192.168.2.12). the

multi-wan / multi-path
Is tinc able to use multiple gateways for outgoing connections?
Or is it restricted to the default gateway?
In other words...
If I have a branch office with a cable connection and a dsl
connection, could it use both in an active/hot-standby fashion?

Logging dropped out-of-sequence packets on a load balanced router
Hi,
I am trying to get information on out-of-sequence packets being dropped
on my load balanced multilink router.
Can anyone give me any information on how best to log/track such packets?
The router is based on Leaf Bering uClib 2.4 (kernel 2.4.26)
The load balancing is being done using teql over a number of gre
tunnels, each on a separate ethernet ADSL to a central box where the

Deliver *sometimes* delivers via /tmp?
Hi,
I'm running dovecot (1.1.7) deliver and sieve (1.1.5) on a Fedora 9
platform, using selinux targetet mode.
Most of the mail deliveries goes well, but once deliver tried to copy
the mail to the /tmp directory, which it seems it not allowed by
selinux. I guess that deliver wants to sanitize the mail or something
and therefore copies it to /tmp.
Before I ask for selinux to allow this, I

Dual Wan Router with Failover
Hi List,
Does anyone know of a good dual wan router that can handle SIP well and can failover between connections if there is a SIP issue on one of the lines (meaning there still is a connection however there isnt enough bandwith or sip packets arent going thru etc.) ?
Thanks.

ingress police, dns, fairness
I have done the "definitive test" in my adsl line, using a real computer:
* Without incoming traffic management, my dns can take about 30s or more
to resolve a domain (when it resolve, sometimes it doesn''t) when my adsl
line is saturated.
So the queue of my ISP doesn''t give preference to the dns (at the
reverse, is it seems penalyzed),
But doing 3 paralell ftps (and

iproute2 ping question
Hi List,
New subscriber/lartc user here. Have read the entire lar&tc howto,
alexy''s ip_cref, etc. and must say, this makes iptables seem downright
*easy*.
I''m trying to build a three-legged linux router (WAN/LAN/DMZ) and have
had it more or less working with iptables but would like to learn layer2
routing with iproute2.
I have an adsl/29 network and would like my

nat router + sip phone adaptor (+adsl modem)
Hi all,
I was wondering whether any of you have experience/info on Cable and/or ADSL
modems that would come together with a SIP phone adaptor. What I am
interested in is something that would plug directly into you ISP's cable (be
it ethernet or adsl/phoneline), would combine a modem/router/nat such that
on the other you could simply plug in your RJ-45 cable for your PC and a
RJ-11 cable for

load balancing and fault tolerance in networking
Hi!
I''m studying load balancing and fault tolerance using multiple WAN interfaces.
I follow the howto in http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/nano.txt but the problem is that
faults detected are limited only in link between lan gateway and modem/router
adsl, and none about adsl signal.
Someone can tell me another howto about fault tolerance using a different
method? (that solve my problem)
I know

X-Lite behind NATed ADSL router
The X-lite client is installed behind an ADSL router and it seems the ISP
also has a firewall supposedly protecting their ADSL customers blocking some
netbios ports and non-critical.
I can't make outbound calls but I can receive but before then I had to use
the following in the account section in SIP.conf
