Any one know of software that allows 2-way radios as VoIP(SIP) clients, besides dingotel's usb & mic cable trick ? http://www.dingotel.com/2way/requirements2way.asp They might be ok if the SIP client was not hardcode to their own SIP proxy Has anyone tried any hacks to get the 2-way radio SIP client to regsiter to a * box. hmm chan_frsgmfrs anyone? using the usb/mic cable under linux :)

Ham Radio s/w and CentOS? {including Echolink}
I am going to present Linux to my ham radio club at some point in the next few months, and wanted to collect info on ham radio software, including options for echolink. Our repeater has an echolink connection, thus if I present the software available for it, it might perk up people's interests more. It would also be very helpful if the echlink applications offered proxy/firewall options

Morse Code
This is just curiosity, but I'm wondering why the Morsecode app has remained part of the trunk for all of these years. Is there any practical use for this or is it just an homage to the ghosts of telecommunications past? Does anybody use the Morsecode app for anything interesting? I'm strangely fascinated by this core piece of Asterisk functionality. -Chris

I'm not sure what the confusion or concern is. The intention is to use non-plaintext (but technically not encrypted) authentication without TLS over ham frequencies. Hashed challenge/response

Boot hanging and app for ham radio
Jim, Thanks for the suggestions. I think you hit the nail on the head with the nvidia card. X runs great with no obvious problems. I only need to get one more app runing and it is for ham radio. I am trying to compile a app called soundmodem. It interfaces the computer with a ham radio for packet operations. When I compile it I get errors telling me xml is not available. In my search for

dingotel - connect Asterisk to 2-way radio?
So has anybody got one of these? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007LQQUK/qid%3D1106972010/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/102-1529886-6420131 I'm thinking that it should be possible to connect it directly to an Asterisk box and not use their software, as long as there was Linux support for the USB dongle. Maybe it just looks like a standard USB audio device? But there has to be an

DTCR Project
Disturbed Transmitter Community Radio Project The Need: Where I live there is only one open channel in our FM band. The one major company that owns 13 of the local stations plus 8 more that bleed over from the next biggest city, has lobbied the FCC so that the last FM license will never be given out. So my friends run a little 10 watt, Max. allowed by FCC for a non-commercial non-licensed

is Power fail transfer possible with asterisk?
Hi. I have a client who wants some way that his analog phones can call out even after the power is out and the UPS has died -- some way that a phone can connect directly to an fxo or some such when power is gone. Any hardware around which can do this? I have heard of some ATA's which do this, do any of the channel banks have this capability? Thanks. -- Your life is like a penny.

Music-on-Hold radio input?
Is there a way to get Music-on-Hold to use the Line input of the soundcard instead of playing MP3s? Some potential clients like the music-on-hold to be the local radio station, or from a satellite broadcast. Thanks!

System Time Source
One of our STEM interns recently observed that there are inexpensive clocks that sync via radio to standard time services.? This begged a question about why every computer would not have a radio module to receive time.? Our senior staff did not have a good answer or if time from such a radio module would be supported by the operating system. When I was a student, such questions would have earned

Digital speech within 100 Hz bandwidth
Dear Sir, Could you please forward this e-mail to your engineering department. I am a ham radio person who wants to transmit from the Earth to the moon and back to the Earth by phone not by Morris code. This will be a very weak signal. I need an extra 13.8 dB of gain. Could you please help me distribute the attached paper to someone who could take this project into the next level? Please reply

ices2 realplayer
I'm rebroadcasting a realplayer stream and there are two problems. The icecast2 sounds tinny and its delayed something like 3secs. Any advice to perhaps use speex as it's talk radio? Can I cut the delay? Here is my ices2 config: http://static.natalian.org/2006-06-21/ices-alsa.xml Here is details of the feed, so you can take a listen:

Satellite Providers
Hi All, I am investigating the deployment of VoIP/* in Eastern European areas where there is no PSTN infrastructure. As you can understand DSL/Cable connections are a dream. The only option is satellite. Does anyone know of any satellite providers that have low enough/acceptable delays for VoIP? Thanks, Yiannis.

unimplemented function gdiplus.dll.GdipGetGenericFontFamilySansSerif
I'm trying to install My Siruis Studio (to access a Sirius satellite radio) with Wine 0.9.52 on in Intel iMac running OS X 10.5.1. This application requires MS .NET Framework 1.1, so I tried installing Mono 1.26 instead. This allowed the My Siruis Studio installation to complete, but an attempt to run My Siruis Studio fails immediately with: Call from 0x7b830330 to unimplemented
