UK Encryption ban legislation {from: [comp.risks] RISKS DIGEST 18.95}
I think this is an issue of serious interest to many of the subscribers of these lists; it would effectively ban a lot of security-related tools that many of use now find indispensable, e.g. ssh, pgp. ------- Start of forwarded message ------- Date: 21 Mar 1997 10:11:57 GMT From: rja14@cl.cam.ac.uk (Ross Anderson) Approved: R.E.Wolff@BitWizard.nl Subject: DTI proposals on key escrow The British

UK encryption proposals (fwd)
Hi, For anyone who is interested I, emailed the Economist about the UK encryption proposals (anyone who knows anything about British newspapers will realize that this is the only one that cuts the mustard) and this is the reply I received: [Names deleted to protect the innocent - it was private email...] wrote: > Thanks for your note about the DTI encryption proposals. > > Those

Dump Unencrypted SSL Traffic
I've got an application that I can run under wine. It uses SSL to communicate with a server. Since it's using SSL I can't just sniff the network packets. What would be the best way to have wine be able to dump the unencrypted data to a file for analysis? If this requires modifying code, which files should I look at? -- Anish Mistry amistry at am-productions.biz AM Productions

How to speed up interpolation
df is a very large data frame with arrival estimates for many flights (DF$flightfact) at random times (df$PredTime). The error of the estimate is df$dt. My problem is that I want to know the prediction error at each minute before landing. This code works, but is very slow, and dominates everything. I tried using split(), but that rapidly ate up my 12 GB of memory. So, is there a better R way of

Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode tc_windup()
After a cvsup to RELENG_6 today I got the following trap while encoding some videos with Avidemux. Dear Everybody, I have to store variable from ${CALLINGPRES} and get birth date of our client and get back to him his birth prediction as numerology (numerology digit value is between 1-9). I have also mentioned below example here suppose client's birth date is 27-01-2000 then 2+7+0+1+2+0+0+0 = 12 and then 1+2 = 3. 3 is result so client can get his prediction as this 3 digit. Please

From everything I've read PRI is an evolving standard - and older devices may struggle with newer extensions/developments. (This might be very handy for users trying to talk to old pbx's.) Is

RELENG_7 jerky mouse and skipping sound
I just updated to RELENG_7 from 6.2 and I'm running into some really annoying issues with jerky mouse movement and skipping sound. This seems to be similar to: Re: SCHED_4BSD in RELENG_7 disturbs workflow This happens both with 4BSD and ULE. I seems to happen when I'm compiling ports and a new cc/bzip2/sh process fires off (I'm just watching top), I'll get the skip/freezeup.
