VOIP to Cellular
Does anyone know of any Cellular providers that will allow VOIP
connections to thier cellular phones? I'd love to be able to call a
cell phone without using the PSTN. I would think it would make sense
for the provider, they still get to charge normal minutes, but don't
have to burn a connection to the PSTN.

Odd icecast hiccup problem with low-bandwidth cellular client
Here's a very odd question - I don't know if anybody can even begin to
answer.
I am attempting something very odd and geeky. I set up an icecast Win32
server streaming a 96kbps mp3 stream (using all the latest as of today
software, winamp, icecast2 and oddcast v3) so I can listen to it on my cell
phone while at work.
My phone does GPRS EDGE data at 131kbps-ish, just barely fast enough to

How to connect to cellular phone beside analog interface card?
Hi,
I have SE P800 cellular phone and I'm curious whether I could connect to it
over internet and not over analog interface and GSM network.
Are there any other cellulars that can do this ? Which ones ?
Thanks in advance,
Robert.

OT: Cellular boosters
We use Motorola v551's as "extensions" on our Asterisk system with a
homebrew find me/follow me dialplan. It works great except where coverage is
poor then of course the inbound call hits voicemail. This has nothing to do
with Asterisk and everything to do with our cellular provider, but since you
guys are telephony pros I'd like to ask if anyone has had any good or bad

Forwarding out to cellular phone's voicemail with AMP
I have some users who like to forward their extensions out to cellular
phones on weekends. They can currently do this using *72<cell #> which AMP
provides. However, in the event that this forward is enabled and a call is
forwared to their cell phone but they do not answer it, it will be passed
back to Asterisk voicemail. They would prefer the call to continue to ring
into their cell

If I am able to see if it is cellular or not is there any way to see aprox. what area the phone is in (I know this wont be simple but would it work if I have an agreeement with the cell phone companies) ? This is for the US.
Thanks.

PBX (Asterisk) <-> Cellular Phone Network
Maybe someone here has found a good solution to this problem.
I voulenteer with a local Search And Rescue unit and I was speaking with the
senior members about how they interface the command trailer PBX with the PSTN
or cellular networks when they are on scene at a remote location. Turns out
they don't. Thus that got me to thinking about how one would get Asterisk to
interface with a

Push to talk over cellular
Hi,
i'm trying to get PoC on Nokia Phones to work with asterisk. I think the
store-and-forward part could easy be done in the dialplan, but i can't even
get the handset to register with asterisk (authentication failed). I'd try'd
to find the difference between "pure sip" and PoC-SIP, but didn't suceed.
Has someone an idea how to get this to work?

Samba file server
I have this situation:
I need to share a 30MB application tree with about 400 PCs, this is an
entire application tree, and I wan?t all the PCs to run it off one or
more application servers.
The questions:
- Do I need to install more than one samba server?
- Is samba the appropiate solution, I?ve heard about something called
AFPS or something like that, that has less overhead and is

Network Neighborhood
Hello, sorry for this posting, I know you must have answered this
hundreds of times, but I cannot get my samba servers to appear on the
network neighborhood on the W95 client machines. Can anyone tell what?s
missing from my smb.conf files?
The problem should be the same on all of the samba servers, how do I
have to configure samba to show up in the network neighborhood?
Thanx in advance.

Problems with zaptel.conf
Hello.
I am new to Asterisk but I have been reading like for a month all de
documentation and tutorials that i have found. Most of them from de
voip-info.org. Recently I set up an Asterisk server based on Debian
'Sarge' 3.1.
Everthing was looking fine. I even locate an old modem that would work
like a X100P Clone (an Ambient MD3200) and after compiling and
installing zaptel it is
