P.S. I _had_ read the other posts that suggest changing to unicast sntp mode. This didn't help. I eventually setup a new ntp server on my LAN, and used it as a sync source. Everything seems OK now. I was wondering if anyone had experienced the following with asterisk stable. After a period of time (can vary), If I stop asterisk and try to run ztcfg -v to reinitialise my quad e1 card, the server will lock up. If nobody picks up at the other end when I hangup the 2000W, the other extension continues to ring. Is there any way to hangup a SIP call if there is no more traffic? Asterisk seems to think that there is still a connection open. This is pretty annoying

Hi All, Today I got a couple of ZyXEL Prestige 2000W WiFi phones. I'm having a problem making SIP calls although I can receive calls just fine. When I try to make a call the phone makes some sound (like "bup bup bup bup bup bup beep beep") and then I just hear hissing background noise (not too loud - like comfort noise). I upgraded to the latest firmware on the phone - Wj.00.10

All have a Zaptel card of some description, so timing is not a problem. Also, is there a Festival voice that sounds as good as Rhetorical or the AT & T stuff? The default one is barely legible. I have asterisk connected to a PSTN line with FXO interface cards from Digium. When I first start Asterisk it sounds fine.... after a few days of running I begin to hear alot of echo on calls... restart asterisk and it is fine again. Any thoughts what this might be?
