Problem with chan_sccp and cisco 7960
Hi ! On Cisco 7960 (with or without 7914 add-on module) when I press speakerphone button (or select line with line button - which automatically put second line on speakerphone) after about 15-20 seconds of dialtone Asterisk stable dies (seg fault). Tested versions of Asterisk are 1.0.2, 1.0.3 or 1.0.5, chan_sccp is newest form CVS of chann-sccp.sourceforge.net ). Firmware of 7960 is

sip device discussion and reviews
Good evening. I just wanted to take a minute and review my experiences with some of the SIP devices out there on the market. I hope this post will help newbies or someone considering a certain device. I would appreciate any other input on either the devices I am "reviewing" or other devices that I didn't! These devices are deployed in our primary line and small PBX replacement

BT100 bad handset?
hello all- has anyone had any problems with the handsets on BT100's. Just picked one up for my lab and the speakerphone works great but I am only getting one way audio (incoming) from the handset. Since the speakerphone works fine, I can't think of any config. reasons why the handset wouldn't other than a faulty handset. Any thoughts or experiences? Jason Kawakami Technical

Grandstream phone from speaker phone back to handset
I have problem to change from handsfree mode to handset mode. When I switch from handset to handsfree while waiting for connection I press the green speakerphone button once. It is all well. Once it is connected I don't want to give the called party too much echo and I want to switch it back to handset. If I press the green button again I lose the call. Anyone knows whether it is possible

Advanced Cisco 7960 Config
Hi all, I have a working (it was a pain) set of Cisco 7960 phones. In order to dial I have to either pick up the handset or select the line and then dial the extension or outside line. How do I configure the dialplan so I can: - Start dialing via the keypad and have the phone automatically go to speaker on the first line? - Give the user dialtone after they dial '9'? A while ago I

early shutdown of VMware VMs
I'm new to NUT, but didn't find a clear answer to this either in the recent "ordered shutdown" thread or in Google: How to shut down VMWare guest virtual machines earlier than the host machine they run on? (For example, if everything normally shuts down at 5% UPS battery, then the VMs should shut down at 10%.) I also read upssched.txt but I can't tell from the early

grandstream budgetone 101
Maybe I'm loosing my mind but I've just noticed that if I put a call on speakerphone and I press speakerphone again it hangs up the call, you would expect it to take the call off speaker back on to the hand piece. I'm using V 1.0.5.22 firmware. Is there any other way to turn off speakerphone I'm missing? Cheers, Dean -------------- next part -------------- An

Hook Flapping on Cisco 7960
Hey all, I'm running * (1.0.9) with some 7960's. When I pick up the handset it often will flap on and off hook eventually hanging up on me and not realizing that I am still holding the handset. These phones are running with the SIP 7.5.0 image on a LAN (no NAT). I am not sure if this is a phone issue or an Asterisk setting. Ideas?

2 way intercom recommendation for restaurant kitchens
Greetings, I need a 2 way intercom for separate kitchens to communicate without having to walk back and forth. The speaker has to be loud but clear, not distorted. Sometimes the kitchens can be noisy. It needs to be easy to use. It needs to be easy to clean. It would be nice if it used POE. Eventually I would like the kitchens to be able to dial different parts of the restaurant when I

voice quality of Aastra 480i CT and cordless
Hi Folks, Looking for feedback on the cordless phones with the Aastra 480i CT handset. Is voice quality comparable to standard consumer residential 2.4GHz cordless phones in the US$30 - $50 price range, or better/worse? How about handset and speakerphone quality for the main phone? Seems like there have been various big issues with firmware in past, but is it pretty stable now? Thanks,

Headsets for Cisco 7940/7960
What headsets have people found work well with the Cisco 7940 and 7960 phones? To date, I have tried a couple of the headsets within the Plantronics H series (H41-N), and noticed that the volume of my speaking is lower over the headset than on the regular handset. I am currently looking for headsets that are known to work well. I do know that Cisco lists the H-91 and H-101 as certified to

Uniden UIP200 Review (Repost)
Hello Everyone, My company is about to deploy * as replacement for our existing commercial Altigen PBX. Meanwhile, I've been trying to find the best cost effective SIP VoIP phone which we can use in office for 20-30 employees, as well as a few remote staff. Normally I wouldn't post about a VoIP phone, however, this phone was released less than a week so I thought I'd give some

Initial review of American Telecom X10001P DECT/SIP phone
Mojo with Horan & Company, LLC wrote: > And it makes *clear* calls assuming you're within allowable range. > Speakerphone seems to work well too. I meant to mention that the DTMF tones and dialtone sound like they're played at such a high volume that they clip through the handset's speaker. DTMF is rfc2833, so what I'm hearing through the handset isn't affecting

Full Duplex
We've had an issue since we went live nearly two years ago on Asterisk where people complain about not being able to talk while someone else is talking. I had assumed for a very long time this was because of the phones we went live with (Grandstream GXP-2000's) and for the longest time I believed this was a speakerphone problem only. Last week during budgets, a request to buy new

Cisco 7940/7960
This may be OT, but I can't seem to find how to do this. I have 7940/7960's with Skinny on them. When you start pressing numbers on the dialpad, you start building a number to dial. When I install SIP, that functionality goes away. You have to hit the speaker button, or lift the handset before you can start dialing. Is there a setting I am missing, or is this just a product of

OT - Cisco 7960 functionality
Can anyone point me to info on how to change the functionality of the SIP (7.4) 7960's. We previously had an SCCP firmware on the phone and the users want the phone to work like it used too. Here are some examples: The users do not want to push the new call softkey or the speaker button in order to dial a call. They want to be able to just begin dialing the number. The users do not want

multiline, cordless, expandable phone system and asterisk message waiting
Basically, pretty much all the 2 line cordless systems I've seen come with a built in digital answering system that I'll never use, the main problem with this is that these units don't support VMWI (visual message waiting indicator) with telco supplied voicemail. This is a problem because I'll be setup an Asterisk system in the next month or so to handle my 2 analog and 1
