using Windows DC in security = server mode
We run Samba, but wish to authenticate against Windows DC. We do this using the "security = server" mode. We don't have the option of being part of the Windows setup directly. Although authentication is done against Windows DC (so users are not prompted for passwords) users do need a Unix account to use the service. We have users in multiple Windows domains, and the DCs we

Desired Install in MotorHome
I've got a client who would love to be able to leave an asterisk server running sompelace, and achieve telephone connectivity using an IP phone from within his Motorhome in his words "I want to be able to work from a mountaintop in Glacier National Park" I've done some initial testing, and a SNOM200 SIP phone comes close enough to working that I have not ruled out the idea as

Direct Dial In - second try
Hi all, I have an asterisk-server (cvs-head from august) connected to a carrier's switch (DMS/Euroisdn) via a te410p, and I am having problems with DDI (standard 'official pstn' number plus extra digits for 'internal' use) Basically, when the entire number (including the extra digits) is dialled via a redial or a programmed key, I see the entire called party number (including

Fw: Digium FXO Interfaces don't support groundstart???
A thought occurred to me to on how to further quantify the impact of "glare" on a properly dimensioned trunk group and debunk the ground start glare concern. A cursory traffic analysis clarifies: 1. Assume you have a two-way trunk group, dimensioned for average busy hour, average busy season for P01 grade of service, Erlang B or Poison distribution. 2. Further assume that the

SIP signalling and RTP to different servers
Hello, we're in process of testing an interconnection with a trans-european carrier. But the carrier wants the SIP signalling to server 1 and the RTP stream to server 2. How do I configure asterisk to work with that type of installation. It seems they are using NexTone as SIP Signaling and RTP servers. Can someone help me??? Regards, Marc -- CTO Marc Storck

Wildcard TE410P still making trouble
We are still having problems getting a Wildcard to work with a German E1 (PMX) interface. When starting asterisk it shows all B-channels starting up successfully (although our carrier told us only the first B-channel starts, if any at all). Incoming calls are not being signaled at all. (They seem to be intercepted by the carrier's switch, as no B-channel is up) Outgoing calls sometimes work,

Signaling on PRI channels
Hi, We did an interconnection with our carrier few days ago. But, I noticed that there was a signaling problem on our trnuk. In fact, Asterisk indicates that the call is answered when we received ALTERTING message from our carrier. fax still fails, ideas sought! Re: rxfax/spa ndsp fails to decode
On the /proc/zaptel it was lost interrupts, you haven't got any so that's good! On opencall.org there's a known issues link and that mentions some fax machines that have issues, might be worth a quick check there. I can receive from our fax machine this end, if you'd like I'll send you a test fax if you send me your fax number, if you can receive from us and tpc then it's

OT - Number Portability
Sorry for the off-topic, but perhaps this will be of interest to other asterisk based ITSPs. We are starting service in a rural area where the ILEC has the rural "monopoly". From what we have read in the FCC docs this does NOT exempt them from number portability, but what does it take for us to qualify to receive their numbers? To date we simply have a few voice trunks to them,

Blank page when sending faxes
Guys, I have been a trying to send a fax using spandsp/app_rtxfax/asterisk. I'm trying to send a (3 page) fax, and all I'm receiving is a single blank page (and I've tried it with 2 fax machines). As some background, I'm using asterisk with an E1 connection through a Sangoma WAN card -- all of this has been working with voice for over 6 months. The software is all working too

Pinouts for T1/E1 crossover cable WAS "RE: whatcable to connect a legacy PBX to a TE410P ?"
I for one think it is a great idea to buy a book with hard earned money and wait a few days to a week just to get an answer to a question that is freely available on the internet immediately. Hard pressed to think of anything in the "book" that is not on with wiki with more up to date and useful information. -----Original Message----- From: Alexander Lopez

RE: Radar track data
If you explain what radar track data is (for those like me who don't know) and what your needs are more specifically a number of people would probably offer pointers to R packages etc. Reid Huntsinger -----Original Message----- From: Scott_Summerill_Summerill/ACT/CNTR/FAA.FAA at faa.gov [mailto:Scott_Summerill_Summerill/ACT/CNTR/FAA.FAA at faa.gov] Sent: Thursday, March 21, 2002 3:22 PM To:

fax still fails, ideas sought! Re: rxfax/spa ndsp fails to decode
Sorry to bore you more with the clock issue, but have you check /proc/zaptel/<span> to make sure it's not missing interrupts? There's also an option to record the audio for the fax, you could listen to that vs a recorded file that will receive correctly on a fax machine and see whether there is an obvious difference? (Good luck, that'll be really scraping the barrel!!) Does it
