Some questions: Release Notes CentOS 5.6
Hello
A couple of days ago, I did the Spanish translation for ReleaseNotes
CentOS 5.6
and I have some questions
Right now, in the Spanish version we are using nice icons for "Notes".
Would you like the same in the English and other translated versions ?
(I know that is not important, just looks nice ;-) )
On many places we mention packages names or file names. I suggest
use

Wiki Page Required for Hardy Beltran
Ralph,
Just a quick note. Currently, when viewing pages in the wiki, we see --
"Spanish (Espa?ol) - ? Hardy Beltran"
Will you please create a page for Hardy so that his name doesn't
appear with a preceding query. This will be quite relevant for the
release notes. :-)

Where is .xsession-errors
Hi
Yesterday I was using OpenOffice Impress, doing many cut/paste
operations with images, and without any notice/message/warning the
application die. Then I look for ~/.xsession-errors file to see any
signal about the problem, but I realized that ~/.xsession-errors is no
longer present.
This is a new behaviour of X.org ?
I'm running CentOS 4 and

Wiki in other languages
Hi,
The other day I was looking for spanish version of CentOS Wiki, and
currently there this link at the bottom main page:
This wiki in Spanish.
And in the spanish main page http://wiki.centos.org/es
we have this link at the bottom
Esta wiki en otros idiomas: en | bn_IN | cs | de | fr | it | ja | kr |
nl | pt_BR | ro | ru
Is not better just use this last one on every frontpage ?

Common content for 'Release Notes'
Hi
Since some time ago, I have been contributing as Spanish translator of
"Release notes" (and some other wiki content).
The "Release notes" has some parts which are common for all translated
versions, by sample: 'sha1sum' , 'translations'
I sugest start to using the macro 'Include' for the next releases. I'm
not an MoinMoin expert but AFAIKU this

T1 cable for Digium T1/E1 Cards
Is there any technical difference between a T1 cable and a cat5e patch
cable as far as using them with Digium T1/E1 cards? Can PRI circuits
terminating at a smart jack connect successfully to Digium cards using
straight through CAT5e cables? If so, are they using all of the pins in
the cable?
Thanks in advance

RedHat Bugzilla
Does anyone here have access to the RedHat Bugzilla bug number 113233?
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=113233
I get "You are not authorized to access bug #113233." which kind of
makes it hard to know what they think they have fixed.
PS. CentOS-2 Update 7 is currently being built and will be ready soon.

Shielding of T1/E1 cables WAS RE: Pinouts for T1/E1 crossover cable WAS "RE: what cable to connect a legacy PBX to a TE410P ?"
I was once told by a lineman that the cables they use didn't have that
many twists in them because it wasn't needed, and that the extra twists
would effectively use more cable and thus cost and weigh more than
triple what they do now. He told me that with the number of twists in
the Cat 5 cable it would cancel out any interference, but he also stated
that the effective length was

Wiki deuglification Part I
Hey guys,
I toyed around with the Wiki today to deuglify it a little bit. I used a
theme which is a bit of a "CMS" theme for MoinMoin and played around
with the logo colors.
The theme is based on the plsavez theme, which I like as it has a very
uncluttered interface for people who aren't logged in - they only see
some important interwiki links (FrontPage, RecentChanges and so on),

4.7!
Ooops,
we did it again ...
This release (4.7) has the first release notes on the wiki for a CentOS
4 release. And as always we could use some people to translate those :)
We didn't find that many problems within QA, so the release notes should
now be fairly complete, with limitied changes to them.
ISo if you are interested and willing (you are, aren't you?), this is

home lab setup
Greetings all,
I am interested in setting up a lab in my house to run my home phone
system. Can some one point me in the right direction hardware wise for
achieving this goal? I happen to have a few 3com NBX phones, and have
been told that they are SIP compliant but am not exactly sure if I
believe 3com...I would be interested to know if anyone has these things
working on *.

Best echo-free and trouble-free system?
We currently have a 15-phone system using Asterisk, a combination of
analog phones/Grandstream HandyTone-286 and Grandstream BT101s, and 4
X100Ps connected to analog lines. The system works well except for
the occasional echo problem. I have all the echo parameters
configured, removed all the extra incoming analog lines except to the
PBX, etc. following all the advice on the wiki and on the

Hotel Setup?
I am working with a small inn (under 50 rooms) that is next to a ski
resort. The inn just had Cat5e Homeruns to each room installed, with a
patch panel in the basement. Now it's my job to connect each of the
those rooms to the Internet. I think I have a Cisco switch that I can
do Private VLANS with, however I thought of another solution.
Has anybody seen or does anybody know of a VoIP
