Sipura 841 vs Grandstream GXP2000
Is there a a consensus on which of these is the better phone.I've personally been using an 841 and have learned to live with its shortcomings. I now need to recommend some phones for some sites we're installing. I'm looking at the BT102 for desktops that don't want/need a headset but need a phone for the higher end users (without costing the earth). TIA, tony Zero Effort

Incoming voice "disappears"
Apologies if this has already been posted to the list. I sent it about an hour ago and it hasn't shown up yet. I've changed the format to plain text in case that was the issue. I'm having a major issue whereby voice is going out fine but none is coming in. If I ring someone I will hear them answer and then nothing. They still can hear me. Looked at the logs and with my

Please check the Wiki (www.voip-info.org) and the list archive by Googling site:lists.digium.com <search string> Also, please include some more info. That is probably why you got no answer... Illegal filename characters
Does anyone have a solution for the problem of file and directory names containing characters which are OK in DOS/Windows but illegal (or at least unwise) in Unix? I have Windows clients who have written directory names containing "$" characters to Samba shares on a Solaris box. This is fine for the clients, but plays havoc with Solaris programs needing to access the files, eg. backups

1.9.18p2 compile problem
I just grabbed 1.9.18p2 and tried compiling with gcc 2.7.2.1 for a Solaris 2.5 box, but it didn't get too far - after a bunch of macro re-defines (eg. Telco is not detecting HangUp w/ TDM400P
Hi guys, I spent a couple of hours in Google, but the problem appears to be uncommon, so I'd like to ask about it here. The problem is exactly the opposite to "Asterisk does not detect FXO hangup". In my case it's the Telco who does not appear to be detecting Asterisk's hangups. Telco is Telus in Vancouver, Canada. The setup is very simple - Telco -> FXO/TDM400p

TDM400P not detecting hangup and not hanging up.
Can anyone suggest where I might begin looking for an answer please? I have just installed a TDM400P (2x FXS and 1x FXO modules installed) The first problem is that it does not seem to be able to detect if the remote party has hung up when a call comes through on the FXO. For example, if someone calls in, and then hangs up at any time after it starts ringing, Asterisk carries on as though the

TDM400P not detecting hangup and not hanging up
Canuck15, No, I hadn't played with the gains. But I've now done so and no difference unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though. I have discovered that after Asterisk has answered the call and the remote caller has hung up, if I lift the receiver on a phone connected to the line (in parallel with Asterisk), Asterisk then DOES instantly hang up. Would it be reasonable to assume the

X100P and TDM400P non-USA Caller ID
I am sure that quite a lot of people would like to have Caller ID working with their X100P and TDM400P cards outside of USA. Judging from previous threads this is just a matter of implementing this support in the software driver! So, I was thinking, if we get together and put few $(USA DOLLARS) into a basket, we could then ask Digium to actually properly implement Caller ID for non USA

TDM400P FXO - Any one got it working well in UK without Hangup problems
Hi Guys, I recently got a TDM400P 4 FXO for use in the UK, this at the time seemed like a good idea as I had good results with an X100P clone. Installation went great and call clarity is excellent no echo like I had on the clone card. My problems start with detecting hanging up the line. If a person calls into the system and speaks to me on a SIP phone when I hang up the call clears

Odd hangup problem TDM400P
On an Asterisk 1.2.12.1 system using a TDM400P with two FXO and two FXS modules, servicing two POTS lines: When dialing a number, such as a bank, or pharmacy, where it is required to enter a long series of numbers via the phone's keypad, an unexpected hangup occurs. The hangup does *not* occur when entering the numbers, as one might initially expect, but after the called end begins to

Any echo issues with phones from TDM400P > X100P
Hi, I'm thinking of purchasing a TDM400P card and was wondering if anyone has experienced any echo issues with phones off these cards connecting to the PSTN via the X100P cards? I have had my fingers burnt with a Voip phone > X100P. Cheers, Taff. --------------------------------- ALL-NEW Yahoo! Messenger - sooooo many all-new ways to express yourself -------------- next part

TDM400P hangup / ringing detection problem
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi!. I am having problems with getting asterisk to detect when someone hangs up. I have a TDM400P with one FXO module connected to my telco, and also a FXS-module connected to my phone. The FXS-module detects hangups just fine, but I can't get the FXO to detect them. I am pretty sure i have disconnect supervision on my phoneline since when I

can a TDM400P FXS drop voltage on hangup?
I thought I had posted this, but I didn't see it in the archives, so I guess I hadn't. I've got FXS lines going to a legacy IVR. When I Dial into one of these lines and then hang up, FXS plays the Congestion tone until the IVR drops voltage. I would like the IVR to hang up sooner. I could do this by either making the IVR recognize the standard Congestion tone, or changing the
