TE411P problem
List, I just tried to swap out our 410 for a 411 and we started have problems with on of our T1's. Setup: Span 1 - Dedicated PRI for long distance. Span 2 - 12 channels fxs_gs outgoing local. 12 Channels em_w incoming DID's. I didn't have any problems with the PRI. The trouble was with the T1. We were unable to place any local calls, and all incoming DID's where garbled.

Activate/Deactivate Hardware echo cancellation on TE406/TE411 when briging
Hi, How would one activate/deactivate hardware echo cancellation on the TE406 card? Can it be done per channel? I'm going to run TE406 in the following scenario: ISDN -> TE406 -> PABX I understand from Steve Underwood's site that echo cancellation is not good for faxes (and they do that themselves). So what I want to do and bypass echo cancellation for selected extensions before

IAX over HTTP
For work environments where you only get HTTP or HTTPS access, what is the feasibility of doing IAX over HTTP? I have heard of projects such as stunnel. Has anyone tried something like this? I did a quick search but didn't come up with much.

ACD queue question
I have a simple 4 person ACD queue using the AgentCallback function. No matter what strategy I use, anytime someone calls into the queue asterisk dials the agents in the order that they are listed in the agents.conf file. This doesn't seem right to me, or am I wrong.

Is this possible
I don't know if this is possible, so I will let the collective decide. Here is what I would like to do. BossA calls BossB, BossB's admin assistant sees the call from BossA on her phone. CallerID would look something like: BossA to BossB : on her phone. And she would be able to pick if BossB was not in his office. I am sure this is possible, but I do not know where to start, or even

Spandsp kind of working
I have spandsp installed and working, but when it emails using Scotts mailfax, the attachment is a dat file. I tried to rename the file to .tiff or .pdf, but it will not open. In the /var/spool/asterisk/fax folder, that faxes are there as tiffs, and I can open those without any trouble. The problem is in the conversion from tiff to pdf. Is there another package that needs to be installed for

Asterisk 1.0.6 music-on-hold
I had asterisk 1.0.5 running fine. I upgraded to 1.0.6 and now the music on hold does not work. More Detail: While I was running asterisk 1.0.5, when someone called into an Polycom IP500 and was put on hold via the Polycom "Hold" button, the hold music would play. After upgrading to 1.0.6 that does not work. But if I set up an extension to play the hold music, it plays.

TDM2400P FXS Only vs. T1/E1 to FXS Channel Banks
Hello All, I'm looking to get some feedback on which solution of providing FXS is going to have the best results with faxing. I'm only looking to see what method is going to provide the best digitization into Asterisk, not for transmission from Asterisk to else where. Any recommendations of specific channel banks are welcome. I will need to provide approximatly 216 FXS Ports and need

Macs deleting files off RHEL8 server
Thanks for this info! I appreciate it. AFAIK, I've never changed any settings on the Macs re: case sensitivity, so they should be insensitive. Is there a way I can check this? Macs deleting files off RHEL8 server
Okay, so the server was changed to case insensitive yesterday morning. Today, I just watched an instance where files disappeared in real time. User print33 was moving/deleting files from a job on the server. It got hung up, the server was showing no folders, so we force quit the Finder. The server share unmounted, then we remounted it. Before the hang up there were 239 folders on the server.

Macs deleting files off RHEL8 server
Understood. A very weird situation just happened. A user was deleting a folder containing 1 InDesign file. When the process started, it said it was deleting 1000s of files. She immediately stopped the delete process from her Mac and opened the folder and saw what looked like all of the folders from our server. When I looked at that same folder from my computer I didn't see that, I only saw

Macs deleting files off RHEL8 server
You have to be really careful with shares and macs. Since each mac can be set to either be case sensitive or not. It is possible for macs to throw all sorts of errors, if they are operating on mixed case systems. If the mac assumes it is case sensitive and it is not , it can either delete files or cause file name clashes that throw errors.

Thanks for the confirmation, Roland. I'll have those looked at. I've gotten some info that because the server is case sensitive, it could be interfering with Apple's SMB protocol. Any thoughts on that? It is something I'll look into. Kind regards, *Mike Soliven* *IT Manager* Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada R2X 2Y1 204.697.3338 Ext.1235 www.embassygraphics.com CONFIDENTIALITY

These are a combination of "temp" and "real" files. The user is deleting/moving PDFs, InDesign and image files. I'm presuming hidden files are also getting deleted when the real files are. The filesystem has been solid (XFS) up until the switch to SMB. From: itdept_head <itdept_head at grown-up.com> To: Cc: "samba at lists.samba.org" <samba at

Load Balancing and HA
Hello, I've been thinking about the best way to achieve load balancing and making my mail servers highly available. So far I believe I have 2 scenarios: Scenario1: This should allow any to lose any of the servers and clients still have access to their emails (although I am not sure how the indexes would react to this and sudden disconnection) - 2 Dovecot Proxy servers, using a
