Matching username in ssh_config
Hi all openssh devs out there. I have quite a few Host-stanzas in my .ssh/config to keep track of all the different settings and credentials needed to access all different hosts I connect to. Now I have ran in to a problem where I need to switch settings based on what user I'm trying to login to a host as. A simple case is: ssh -i rootkey root at host123 vs. ssh -i userkey username at

Looking for AIX Users of Winbind -- Authorization and SSH Problems
Hi all, I've got Samba with Winbind working on AIX 5.3 and 6.1 fairly well with Active Directory 2003. In fact, I'd say short of 2 very important services, it's working almost perfectly. Unfortunately, these 2 services are quite critical, and without them I'm afraid we'll have to resort to some sort of proprietary identity solution like Novell, which I'm not crazy about.

Samba + acl + Domain Admins
Hi! I am running samba-2.2.7a with winbind and acl. I've setup share with default owner 'administrator' and group owner 'Domain Admins' and let access to others throw acl. Trouble is, when some user from 'Domain Admins' group changes some file, he also changes user and group owner to 'his_username' and 'Domain Users'. I've checked smb.conf and

Issues with default ACLs in created objects not including parent's owner: old bug or setup issue?
I have recurrent issue with ACLs on a server that's running samba 3.2.15 (this is a Debian lenny server and we're not ready, yet, to upgrade it...we just upgraded samba from 3.2.5 to 3.2.15+security fixes). If a "foo" directory, owned by "joe", has "joe and "jim" authorized to write to it through the filesystem's ACLs (and both in "foo"

How to separate outgoing extens from the contexts from sip.conf?
I have a sip.conf with stanzas for sip phones that have 'context=sip-incoming for some Grandstream phones and another stanza for a Sipura SPA3000 with context=pstn-incoming. Reviewing the code today, I was dismayed to see that all my outgoing extens were mixed into those two. I have been told this is very insecure. How can I separate the outgoing extens? When I create a context

Foreman and default configs for all nodes
I''m having some issues applying a default set of modules to all of my nodes managed by Foreman. I have around 20 nodes split among 4 environments. I have a node {default...} stanza in site.pp, but due to the way puppet handles ENCs, nothing from this is applied to my nodes. I have looked at host groups in Foreman, but they don''t seem to do what I want, since they are applied

Can't reliably use RefClass methods in Snowfall
Greetings, I am trying to use Reference Class methods in Snowfall, using R 2.12.1 on Ubuntu Natty. Using then directly seems to work (stanza 2 below), but using them indirectly does not (stanza 3 below). I get an "attempt to apply non-function" error. In addition to exporting the instance of the object I created to the Snowfall slaves, I also made several attempts to export the

A room full of Cisco 7960s behind NAT
I need to set up an office full of Cisco 7960 phones behind NAT with the server out in Colo. The first test phone registers fine, but the second one does not register. The first phone's registration looks like so: /SIP/Registry/3115552368 :64.169.xx.yyy:38836:3600:3115552368:sip:3115552368@64.169.xx.yyy:5060 When the second phone tries to register, it gets back a 404 not found. Simulating a commercial SIP provider
Hi all, The kind of configuration that I use in my sip.conf to connect to various commercial SIP providers looks like this: [general] context=incoming-calls canreinvite=no qualify=yes register => jwinius:passwrd at sip.provider.com/0201234567 [provider] type=peer host=sip.provider.com fromuser=jwinius secret=passwrd This works. SIP Realtime 1.2.5 and Username/auth name mismatch ?
Hello, I installed 1.2.5 and realtime SIP. The connection to the DB is OK because I can get the values from the CLI. Here are my 3 different cases: 1- If I put an unexisting user, I get 404 and I am not able to dial. 2- If I check "Disable registration" within Firefly it does not register but I am able to dial a destination (...) 3- If I leave registration ON, I get the 404 message

FYI: C 7, broken cron, sort of SOLVED
I was fighting this a few weeks ago, and asking here. I *finally* solved it yesterday... and the answer isn't pleasant. Running the command authconfig --enablesssd --enablesssdauth --enablesmartcard --smartcardmodule=sssd --smartcardaction=0 --updateall breaks crond, as per bugzilla # Bug 1650314. The way that it breaks it is to insert into /etc/pam.d/password-auth-ac two lines reading

Question regarding default user domain in samba
Hi, Everybody, I sent an email to this list with a couple of questions in it earlier this week; this is kind of a 'repeat' question, so I apologize if you've read this one already; I wanted to flesh out the details of my inquisition a tad bit more in hopes that somebody could potentially chime in with an answer as I am afraid that I either a) didn't articulate my question in

sending traffic to LiveVoip

I tried: exten => _1NXXNXXXXXX,2,Dial(IAX2/userid:password@217.160.244.186/${EXTEN}|60|s) but I get the error Feb 19 15:14:09 WARNING[21453]: chan_iax2.c:5546 socket_read: Call rejected by 217.160.244.186: No authority found --

best practice for managing multiple stanzas within a config file?
What is the best way to manage multiple stanza within a config file? For a splunk configuration file (inputs.conf) I need to manage some thing like [monitor://var/log] blacklist = someRegularExpression whitelist = someOtherRegularExpression [monitor://var/lib/ourApp] There can be multiple monitor stanzas and each may or may not have a whitelist or blacklist. I haven''t found any

garbage on serial console after pxelinux.0 is loaded
A little more info: I was mistaken in saying that the garbage on the screen doesn't interfere with typed commands/stanzas; it does. If I can type the name of a stanza and hit enter quickly enough before the garbage is spat to the screen, it seems to start loading a kernel, but then it aborts. And the garbage appears to be varying quantities of '[0n', as in sometimes there will be one

Calculating required bandwidth
I was posed this question: A T1 set up for voice carries 24 conversations on a circuit that is 1.544 megabits/second. Right? Well, if you set that T1 up to carry data and run a link between two IP networks over it, how many SIP conversations could it be expected to carry? How about IAX? How would one extend this calculation to varying bandwidth circuits and various VOIP protocols (MGCP,
