I have Asterisk 1.0.5-BRIstuffed-0.2.0-RC5 up and running. Everything
seems to be running fine but after some time asterisk just goes crazy
(even withouth any incoming or outgoing call activity perviously).
If I leave the box up for some time * goes haywire and the console is
flooded with this message:

MOH/mpg123 broken when running asterisk as non-root?
Hi guys,
For the first time, I'm attempting to run asterisk as a non-root user
for all of the obvious reasons.
I'm attempting this with asterisk-1.0-RC2, based on the fairly
straightforward directions found here:
http://voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+non-root
The only problem I can't get figured out is my mpg123 processes not
being spawned properly. There's

re: how to set the voice message as
Hi there,
Sorry for the late reply. I had too many emails in my mailbox to clean up.
Anyway, I found out the problem is the sendmail in Linux did not work and
the voicemail.conf in our asterisk is ok. There is another issue for email
notification: some email servers rejects the email from asterisk. My
engineer added Asterisk IP into the DNS to slove the email rejection issue.
Thanks for

MusicOnHold spawns everlasting mpg123 processes
Hullo :)
I'm using CVS-04/23/04-23 from the stable 1.0 branch on kernel 2.6 - since I
have no Digium h/w, I've just managed to get the zaprtc module to compile and run,
so I thought the best way to test it would be via MoH.
The MP3Player application works great ..

can't CLI> STOP NOW by zombie MOH
I am using CVS-v1-0-04/20/05-12:31:26. Windows Messenger5.1 works MOH
fine. After I stop MOH on Windows Messenger, if the hungup signal could
not send to *, the sip channel(e.g.,SIP/52001-08ca) for this MOH remains.
Then the user trys again MOH, a new sip channel starts. And again
the hugup signal can not send to *,.........
When I 'stop now' from CLI> , * cleanups the remaining sip

Callerid on my system is coming tough.
Asterisk doesnot finishes the callerid spill and Cancells it.
After going through code in Callerid.c and chan_zap.c I found that my

I have an Asterisk box running Fedora Core 4, Asterisk 1.4, Lippri, 1.4, and
Zaptel 1.4
The Digium cards installed are TDM2400 and TE110P.
Everything was working fine until I upgraded to zaptel 1.2.12 from 1.2.9
Now when I run ztcfg I get the following error message:
(CAS signalling on span 2 conflicts with Clear channel on channel 40)

No Audio from Console but mpg123 from shell works fine.
I get audio from mpg123 at the command line but when I load up asterisk
and try to get audio from the console it looks like it's working, and
even pauses like it is playing the file but there is no audio coming
from the speakers.
I have searched and looked through the archives and tried to fix this
but I have had no success. This is an onboard Intel card (AC'97) and I
also tried an SB

Broken pipe...
Hello,
I've done a very straightforward install of Asterisk, and can't seem to
get it started.
This is a proof-of-concept installation, and currently does not have
any T1/E1 or FXO/FXS cards in it. I just want to use it as an internal
SIP server for now.
However, when I try to start Asterisk, it dies with the following
messages:

Can't get format_mp3 to work for music on hold
Hi Guys,
I am having trouble trying to get format_mp3 working to play music on hold.
I have followed the instructions in the read-me and the wiki however
it seems after un-installing mpg123, asterisk is not even attempting
to play MOH.
My musiconhold.conf is
