Hi, folks.
My name is Breno and I'm new to this list. The main reason that made me

perferct for me.
The problem is that I am an engineer and most of my job is done using
microsoft visio. Unhapply Dia is not being enought for

New Asterisk Implementation
Hello,
I've been planning to replace my aging CENTREX switch with a new PBX and am seriously
considering Asterisk as my solution.
I work at a college, and we currently support just under 300 regular analog lines to
the offices and whatnot.
I was wondering.. Is asterisk ready for such a job? Would I be making a mistake
to deploy this across the campus at this time?
It seems that

I started to look at the forums to see if someone

samba & VISIO documents
Hi all,
I am having a strange problem after migrating to Rehat 8.0 and SMBD version
2.2.5 from RH 7.3 & SMB 2.2.3a.
Everything appears to work fine, with the exception of the failure to open
"VISIO" documents. This is strange because it only happens to VISIO, all
other document types open with no problem. When someone tries to open a
visio document, VISIO prompts "file not

wine-0.9.56-1.fc7 . Success with Visio 5. Problems with cups-pdf
Hi,
I am running wine-0.9.56-1.fc7 on a Fedora 7 system. I installed Visio 5
(must be around 10 years old!). The Visio seems stable when running under
wine, the graphics are good and I can save the vsd files under wine.
Two small problems
1. Unable to save complex diagrams to jpg or gif. For example, there is an
Office furniture template which includes walls, chairs and tables. The

Visio vsd/vdx vs. svg
Tom,
I note that you use Visio for your network diagrams. Have you considered
placing SVG source in CVS?
I believe Visio can import/export SVG now. If you''re not using the
newest version, I think the VDXtoSVG project can convert Visio 2002 VDX
files to SVG. If you''re using a version older than that, I doubt an
acceptable solution is achievable.

Extension Design in Visio
Hey Everyone -
I was going to create a visio diagram outlining how my extensions will
flow out. I was just wondering if anyone on the list may have an example
they have already done up so I can get some ideas.
Thanks

Visio-type symbol for an Asterisk/VoIP server?
I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not there is an accepted icon
for a telephony server for use in diagramming programs like Visio/Dia/etc.
The Cisco set has an icon for an IP phone, but I can't find one for a
telephony server.
I'm sure there must be such for telephone switches too, but maybe
computer-based servers ought to have their own.
It would be cool to have a generic

Problem with Hangups
Hello,
I am having an issue with hangups being handled within Asterisk. Right now, when an inbound call hits
the Asterisk box, Asterisk picks up the call just fine.
When the caller enters an extension to call, the Asterisk dials out on Zap/3 and rings the extension with
no problem. If the extension is answered, there is no problem.
If the caller hang's up before the phone is answered,

But then it refuses to install the program. The first screen of the

Switchboards
Hello,
I am still researching my dive into Asterisk at my workplace, and I was wondering about how switchboard
activities are handled.. Right now, a call comes into our switchboard, and the operator forwards them
to the appropriate line, thus freeing up the primary number and allowing more calls in. Everyone on
campus has a direct-dial line as it is right now. I want to eliminate most of
