Problem deleting/renaming files
Hi - We have been using a samba configuration file similar to that listed below for some years without issue. However when carrying it over to a new server running Samba 3.4.0 (-3ubuntu5.1), we started experiencing problems deleting files via Windows Explorer; attempts to do so are resulting in 'Access is denied'. Similarly, attempting to change the name of a file or directory is

Hi all :-) mount -t cifs //ip_server/tmp /home/share/tmp -o "username=xxx,password,xxx) touch tmp.bak /home/share/tmp touch: setting times of `home/share/tmp/tmp.bak': No such file or directory (similarly I can only create a file/dir but I can't write on it, I can delete file/dir) I also tried to do: echo 0 > /proc/fs/cifs/LinuxExtensionsEnabled mount -t cifs //ip_server/tmp

Samba 3 handles Linux permissions differently then Samba 2 ?
Hi, we have a problem with permissions migrating from a custom 2.4 kernel Linux distro with Samba 2.2.5 to OpenSuSE 10.3 (with samba 3.0.26). We used to have directories like this (relative to the Samba share): /root/dir0/dir1/dir2/dir3/userdir1-1/userdir1-2 'root' and all it's parent directories have '0755' Linux permission. dir0-dir3 all have '0711' permissions

multiple secrets file
hi all, using rsync 3.1, I need to use distinct secrets file according to what modules are being "authenticated". This seems to work : (...) secrets file = /etc/rsyncd/secrets1.inc &include = /etc/rsyncd/mymodules1/ secrets file = /etc/rsyncd/secrets2.inc &include = /etc/rsyncd/mymodules2/ (...) ie. any modules declared in mymodules1/ will use users/passwords in secret1.inc

IAX authentication oddity - Known issue? Fixed?
Hi, I had the following odd behaviour in Asterisk 1.2 - We are migrating to 1.6, and I will re-test ASAP, though it is quite hard to replicate, but I am curious to know whether it is a known IAX issue in 1.2. We had 2 users in iax.conf: [user1] username=user1 secret=secret1 context=context1 host=iax.hostname.com [user2] username=user2 secret= context=context2 host=dynamic deny=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0

imap-login crashes after upgrade to Dovecot 1.2.8 Linux 64-bit
Hi all, We moved our Dovecot installation first of all to have all folders and inboxes on NetApps via NFS (with indexes local) then from a physical Solaris 8 4-way UltraSparc server running Dovecot 1.2.5 (32-bit) to a virtualised Ubuntu 8.04 64-bit server with a single virtual processor (in VMWare ESX 3.5) running Dovecot 1.2.8 (64-bit). Since the change, many of our users have experienced

Here is part of the content of sip.conf. [general] port = 5061 bindaddr = *.IP

Hello, I'm trying to setup the revised Polycom remote reboot script as found on: http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Polycom+reboot+hardphone+script I'm not sure how to use this script, it's just a perl script, so I tried creating an executable perl script and running it, but I get the following: [root@asterisk1 agi-bin]# ./polycom_reboot.pl 192.168.3.205 Checking ARP
