Cell phones and (no) rings
Hello, all. Our first major asterisk system is just about ready for production. However, we noticed that our outbound SIP callers did not receive rings when dialing cell phones. Land lines were fine. We "fixed" this by setting progressinband=no in sip.conf. However, I gather this places extra load on the asterisk server and I'm not sure that it always conveys accurate status

Forwarding To Cell Phones with Asterrisk PBX
Hello, My company has a 800 number that we use for customer service. However, instead of having our customer service reps at the office, we route these calls to their cell phones using a service provided by gosolo.com. However our current system isn't ideal because it will call each number in order causing longer and longer waits when we've got people on the line. Our goal is to set

Asterisk missing DTMF tones from some cell phones
While most cell phones are fine, some cell phones don't seem to produce DTMF digits that Asterisk/Zapata will detect. One of our salespeople has an AT&T model that never gets any digits through. Is there a known solution? I understand, of course, that with cell phones the DTMF tones are actually created at the base, and that pressing the key longer usually does not result in longer

Lost audio on forwarded calls
OK, been messing with Asterisk for a long time and I have my opinion on where the issues lies but sometimes it's just nice to see what others think that can relate :-) Here goes.. Inbound calls flow like this:Tier 1 Provider (SIP) > Asterisk 1.8 > Name Brand PBX - Calls work fine Outbound calls flow like this:Name Brand PBX > Asterisk 1.8 > Tier 1 provider (SIP) - Calls work fine

Problem with busydetect and cell phones
I have a very strange problem I'm hoping someone has encountered already. I've scoured the internet for an answer to this one. My phone company provides no disconnect supervision. Hence I'm forced to use the busydetect feature. I have a TDM400 with two FXO ports. If I call from an internal extension to a landline and then hangup the landline Asterisk detects the busy signal

Transfer a call from cell phone (pseudo-disa)
I set up a context to allow me to call in to my * server (via Teliax in this case using IAX2) from my cellphone, and let me do a number of things, including dial other extensions, AND dial outbound again so callers could see my proper work CallerID when I use this service. Is there a way to be able to transfer calls to other extensions of my asterisk server FROM the cell phone/ This isn't a

How to hookup to cell phone for outbound calls?
Hi I need a small PBX for use on the move. This means that outbound calls will need to be made over the cell phone network. Assuming a small hardware PBX with a spare mini-PCI slot or a USB slot then what hardware options do I have to get an outbound cellular channel? Options need to be rock solid, so no bluetooth to a cell phone kind of solutions need apply. Can any of the 3G usb

moh cell phones
Hello, MOH always is choppy when someone calls from a cell phone to my pots or nufone 866. It sounds fine when it originates from a land line. I use zaptel hardware, and plenty of resources. I have tried to use different songs. None have the id3 tags, I tried the custom settings with -q -r 8000 -f 8192 -b 2048 --mono -s. Tried permanent resampling to 8khz, 16bit, filterd with lame -q1. I

Queue with cell phones
Hi, I'd like to set Asterisk to use cell phone as members of a queue. The thing is, because people go offline and online in an unreliable way, I'd like to have some way to define that if somebody does not answer a call (and isn't already on a queue call), he's considered offline for 60 minutes, than the queue can try him again. Is this (or something similar) possible? Mike

Investigating international calls fraud
Do you have DISA setup? We're seeing lots of attackers running scripts that send digits until they strike a DISA, misconfigured mailbox, etc. (Assuming it wasn't a stupid employee forwarding an inbound call to a 9xxxxxxx number etc). Have a look at SecAst (www.generationd.com) - it detects callers sending too many digits, monitors digit dialing speeds, etc. to help identify and block

Answer Call Waiting from Call Forward to Cell Phone
Hello- Sorry if you see this again, I am new to this list and accidentally put this message in another thread. What I want to know is, is there any way to send a hook-flash signal from a cell phone (and then have Asterisk pass it up to the PSTN?) I suspect we need an example. I have an X100P to the PSTN and an S100U to an Analog Phone (ext. 3100) Let's say my PSTN number is 555-1296.

Prevent cell phone voice mail capturing call
Hi, I've a DID number that gets passed to three internal phones and a cell phone via my outbound IAX trunk. If the cell phone is off or out of coverage, its voice mail captures the call. What's the best way to avoid this? Is there a recommended way to force the cell phone user to press 1 before the call is passed there ala google voice? Or is there another way to detect the presence of

access of WML site through cell phone seems flakey
I just started a new subdomain on hosting rails. I launched it a couple of days ago. It is a site that can render onto mobile devices using WAP/WML or through a regular browser. It seems flaky with the mobile cell phone access, because sometimes it works and sometimes it stops working for several hours and then it seems like it''s fine again, with a regular browser it seems ok, though

Checking status of a cell phone
Hi, I am looking for a way to check the status of a cell phone. Found one way that worked for me and would like to have some feedback or suggestion of improvments. Below example is for a ?Swedish? cell phone, dont know if it works in the same way for other countries. I could define ?redirecting? numbers for 3 traffic cases when u dial my mobile (073-302 59 75): NOT_INUSE call forward to A INUSE
