SPA-3000 and incoming faxes
I've been running with a generic X100P for 5 or so months and every once in a while I have problem receiving faxes. I see that others have the same problems and some worse than I have with these boards so I was wondering if using a Sipura SPA-3000 would be any more reliable. Has anyone had enough experience to tell me if that would definitely fix the random fax error. PS. I have * at

Script to kill dictionary spam attacks
Does anyone have a script that will notice a Rumplestiltskin type spam attack (where they try every name possible) and drop the sending into a block list? -- Chris Mason NetConcepts (264) 497-5670 Fax: (264) 497-8463 Int: (305) 704-7249 Fax: (815)301-9759 UK 44.207.183.0271 Cell: 264-235-5670 Yahoo IM: netconcepts_anguilla@yahoo.com -- This message has been scanned for viruses and

Public phone
A client wants to put phones in a semi-public place, using a Calling Card solution. What kind of hardware is suitable? I'm looking for a wall mounted booth, a SIP phone that can't easily be broken, but I might just use cheap analog phones and a channel bank. What do you suggest for the calling card software? This installation will be outside the US. -- Chris Mason NetConcepts (264)

Fail over
For all my PBX installations I want to have Fail Over on the main incoming PSTN line so that a power outage does not leave the offices stranded. Is there any commercial solution to this? I would rather a finished product than a home soldering project. Chris Mason masonc@masonc.com Box 340, The Valley, Anguilla, British West Indies Tel. Long delay via Teliax
I'm testing Teliax tall free number line and I'm experiencing long delay about 1sec. during conversation. When I call myself over FWD the response is normal no delay or cut messages. When I call my number over FWD the is a long delay, welcome message usually cuts off few first words and during conversation my voice arrives after about 1sec. delay. Since, the 800-number is only accessible

CDR problem - incorrect time
We have a billing system that depends on the CDRs. We had a guest that made a one minute call to a local cellphone, this call went out Zap channel through our channel bank. The CDR recorded a 200 minute call, but I checked with the Telco's records and it had terminated after one minute. What can cause this and what can I do to prevent it? -- Chris Mason NetConcepts (264) 497-5670 Fax:

Best VoIP provider
It does not look like Nufone is still in business, judging from the content on their site, which is very little. There is not even a configuration document to download, to connect to their network. The rates file is only for US/Canada calling. No international rates on this rates.csv file. I have signed up with a $5.00 account with them way back in November 2004. After signup, I havent received

Problem with Sangoma/Adtran 600 installation
I have installed Asterisk on a CentOS4 box and then installed Asterisk from CVS. I installed a Sangoma A101 and connected it to a Adtran 600 using a T1 Crossover cable. The 600 has 12 x FXS, 12 x FXO interfaces. I ran through the wanpipe install instructions and configured it, now I can run [root@altpbx asterisk]# wanrouter hwprobe ------------------------------- | Wanpipe Hardware Probe Info

FXO Gateways
Does anyone have any experience with the Audiocodes MP-108 FXO gateway? I'm looking to get one for incoming PSTN lines. In particular, does it pass caller ID information to Asterisk? I currently have a Mediatrix 1204 but Caller ID does not work, even though the specs say it does. All it sends are the names of the ports set up internally on the gateway (ie. "pstnline1" etc) when

Multi-ISP with one Dynamic IP

Call go on hold for no reason
I am trying to use ChanIsAvail to detect the best route for a call. I am testing by dialing an extension that is then forwarded to the DID. Normally it will be an incoming PSTN call that is forwarded. When I try it, I get put on hold for a few seconds and miss the beginning of the recorded message. Any ideas what is going on? -- Executing ChanIsAvail("SIP/501-304d",

Internet Telephony, net2phone
As a newbie, can anyone advise me if Asterisk can route international calls to a US based service such as Net2Phone so we can take advantage of the internet and save on calls? Upgrade RPM for redhat 9 to solve password change problem
My redhat 9 server is using samba-2.2.7a-8.9.0 - everything was fine until I recently tried to change the users password from his workstation, and got the famous "Domain is not available" error. I would like to upgrade the server's samba install but not anything else as everything on the server is stable and I can't have a lot of disruption if there are upgrade problems, which
