Hi - I am looking for suggestions for ITSPs for faxing with asterisk 1.8. We are based in the US, so would need an ITSP with US DIDs. #1) We would like to use Fax For Asterisk with asterisk 1.8.4 in order to receive faxes via T.38. Sending faxes is not a requirement. Anyone gotten two of the 2572 echo canceller cards to work in a 253c mounting assembly? I can get one to work, but when I install two, one always fails. I've tried all my cards solo in the enclosure, on each side, and they all work properly when only 1 is installed, however, when I install two, one of them will come up, but the other always fails. Anyone know what might be causing this?

Another question, Is anybody using the Tellabs 2572 EC with a PRI. When we moved from our analog lines to a PRI, I thought it would be simple stuff moving the EC to the PRI. Changed signaling, made sure that channel 24 wasn't being ECd and everything came up. But, I was getting complaints of random echo on the PRI. Local echo. Since putting my Tellabs EC into place around 2 weeks ago, the echo problem has almost been eliminated. Reports of some very faint echo, but everybody is happy. My question is, if I were to also turn on the Asterisk Software EC, would this remove any residual echo that may make it past the Tellabs Hardware EC. Thanks, Doug

Hi, I'm no phone guy but I've been having quite a bit of fun messing with Asterisk. I just unwrapped my new Wildcard TDM400P (TDM40B) which is the new 4 port FXS PCI card. It has 4 RJ45 connectors and I'd like to hookup 4 regular phones which are RJ11. If I crip RJ45 connectors to the phone cords do I simple use the center two pins (pins 4 and 5)? I have a channelized T1 coming in from our telco, terminated onto a TE405. There are three channelbanks serving internal analog extensions, and about 10 Cisco 7960s. Using TDM400's here and I have tried everything to cure the echo. I have used the Milliwatt test from the telco and from asterisk to tune RX/TX gain via a patched ztmonitor. What happens is I experience midcall echo. I turned on aggressive_suppressor and it seems to do great. A little off-topic maybe, but it's still for the Adit used with Asterisk. ;) I wonder where I can buy 50 pin Amphenol cables, with connector on one side, and open cables on the other for mounting in our own patch panels.
