When I had a dynapic IP connection with shaw, there was not problem
either.
I just changed to static and IAX can not connect.
How can I test it?

IAX with shaw cable not going through
I just changed the from DSL to Shaw Cable (static IP) configure the
firewall but now asterisk I can not register with FWD nor VoipJet calls
going out.
I am using IAX with FWD
Did I missed to change a setting? I don't think there is any though.
I am on shaw extreme connection; I just talked shaw tech. and they are
not blocking any port - I was told.
So why IAX will not register with FWD and

SER / IAX solution
I find IAX connection with FWD very unreliable so I think I'll have to
roll out my own "SIP Express Router" as I want to communicate with few
SIP clients.
So I hope this the right solution.
I'm new to "SER" and to my understanding "SER is like a "road-map" it
tells the SIP Clients where they are so they can communicate directly
with each other without

Sipura SIP vs. IAX
I'm just curious why Sipura isn't using free IAX protocol with their
devices instead of SIP?
With IAX NAT traversal would have been easier, so why are they using
SIP.
Is there any politics in it?

Has anybody tried NVFaxDetect Fax detection SIP/IAX
Has anybody tried NVFaxDetect Fax detection for sip SIP/IAX channel?
There is a new application from Newman Telecom for fax detection.

Current Asterisk Fax detection doesn't work for me as I don't have
Digium cards; I'm using Siupra

Incoming 800-number over IAX - first few words are cut-off
I have an incoming 800-number over IAX from Teliax and I'm experiencing
the large packet loss on connection.
When a call comes in there is no ring tone and the first few words of
the welcome message are cut off, regardless of the delay I set.
Standard call (not 800-number) coming over IAX with the same provider
works just fine only the tall free number.
So it seems there are some packet loss

ATA with IAX protocol
Who else makes Analog Telephone Adapters with IAX protocol besides
Digium?
I've seen Farfon is advertising their unit but I'm not sure if they
shipped it or not.
Why is so hard for others to support this protocol in their adapters?
SIP is totally unsuitable for firewall traversal for security reason.
I would like to get min. two port unit. Is it possible to use IAX
protocol without

dtmfmode and IAX protocol
What dtmfmode should I set for IAX protocol?
When I dial FWD over IAX it doesn't recognize the numbers I press.

Asterisk STILL loosing IAX user's registration
Asterisk 1.4.21.1 built by asterisk @ lnxca
Fedora 7
Well, I did the upgrade from version 1.4.16.2 to 1.4.21.1, activated the
qualify for iax users, and Asterisk is still loosing the iax user's
registration. Once again this is really wired because no configurations
changes have been done to the system, the only change was a reinstallation
of asterisk with user "asterisk" instead of

Multiple IAX clients behind a firewall
Hi all,
I've searched the wiki, and my basic assumption at this point is to
run multiple IAX clients behind NAT I need to specifically code each
client to use a different port and then setup that port to be forwarded
from the NAT router to their private IP address.
At the moment, I can't seem to get more than one IAX client
registered behind NAT... am I correct in my above

Has anyone got sip/IAX working behind a firewall?
I have read loads of the emails on the subject but have not read a setup I
could use.
I have a windows box using Winproxy to dial up the internet through a DSL
modem. My internal network I am using while developing.
My internet network has been renumbered so that I could test using
Nikotel4Mac. It will only accept certain numbering schemes so I have changed
my ip's on the internal network

is IAX required for firewall and router?
I'm trying to understand IAX and whether or not it would solve my
difficulties:
'The primary goals for IAX were to minimize bandwidth used in media
transmissions, with particular attention drawn to control and individual
voice calls, and to provide native support for NAT (Network Address
Translation) transparency. Another goal is to be easy to use behind
firewalls.'

problems with asterisk and the IAX protocol
Hello group,
I wanted to try out the asterisk iax protocol between two asterisk
machines but have several problems with it.
My scenario looks like follows. I am using asterisk 0.9.0 on both machines.
SER1 <-> asterisk1 <-> IAX <-> asterisk2 <-> SER2
Both SER and asterisk run on a machine with a public IP address. When
the telephone on one side makes a call the telephone

AAH 0.06 - IAX Connection Over NAT Firewall
Hello all,
I am having trouble getting my IAX based Voip provider setup. Any pointers are welcome.
So here is the deal. I am registered up and I can make outgoing calls but incoming calls fail.
Configs all look good I thought.
My PBX is behind our firewall with a direct NAT of one to one for an external IP.
IAX port is forwarded UDP and TCP to the internal IP.
* shows good registration and

IAX registration
Hi,
I have a nufone connection (IAX2), works fine.
In my iax.conf I do not specify a time interval that * needs to renew
registrations with nufone server.
However I can see following registration messages on my cli every 90
seconds (approximately)
--Registered to '198.22.67.70', who sees us as 69.5X.XXX.XXX:4569
