Looking for PRI Outbound Caller ID Configuration
I'm having trouble setting the outbound caller ID on calls I make from my PRI trunk group. The PRIs are served out of a 5ESS. Telco has set the PRIs up for user provided caller id information, so I believe I just don't have it set up right in my dialplan or something. I can't seem to find an example of setting the outbound caller ID specifically for a 5ESS. Does anyone have an

Call forwarding...
Sorry for posting this again, but it seems to have become attached to another thread. Guess I replied to another message instead of starting a new one... Hi, I'm trying to setup a call forwarding rule so that when an extention doesn't answer the call is forwarded to my mobile. I'm using voiptalk.org for incoming and outgoing calls and SIP phones for extentions (so all IP based -

Dialing Out through Provider with Authentica tion
Does anyone know how to do this with the OH323 channel driver? expression parsing
Hi. I've noticed a problem with the expression parsing in Asterisk. If the variable is not defined, I will get a parse error. Yeah, there are ways around it, but I would think that it should return false if 0, null, or undefined. I would change it, but I have no idea about bison and I only have very basic C skills. There was a bug opened on this, and there was a valid work-around posted,

RE: Is the 2.6 Linux kernel ready for produc tion * environment
uname -a Linux asterisk 2.6.10-1.1771_FC2smp # 1 SMP Mon Mar 20 01:10:51 EST i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux Processing hundreds of calls & faxes a day. No problem. If you are going to use a Fedora box make sure you yum update right after install then the kernel sources symbolic link is not horribly broken as it used to be. Otherwise, just go. -----Original Message----- From: canuck15 To:

I had the same problem. You need to go into your Makefile and add the [LIBS] definition to the part where winbind.so is linked. Just take it on to the end of the line and run "make" and "make install" again. You might want to do a "make uninstall" and a "make clean" first. -Dan -----Original Message----- From: Jelmer Vernooij [mailto:jelmer@nl.linux.org]

extra parameter for DB read function
There are often times that I want to read a DB value from the dialplan, and if this family/key pair does not exist, set it to some default value. for example: 1234,1 => Set(EMAILADDR=${DB(x/y)} 1234,2 => GotoIf($["${EMAILADDR}" = ""]?3:4) 1234,3 => Set(EMAILADDR=Someone@test.com) 1234,4 => NoOp(${EMAILADDR}) 1234,5 => Hangup() I have modified the db function

mixed models for analyzing survey data with unequal selec tion probability
Han-Lin I don't think I have seen a reply so I will suggest that maybe you could try a different approach than what you are thinking about doing. I believe the current best practice is to use the weights as a covariate in a regression model - and bytheway - the weights are the inverse of the probabilities of selection - not the probabilities. Fundamentally, there is a difficulty in making

Function call on every prompt
Someone on stackoverflow.com was wondering how to display the current time in the R prompt. I could have swore there was a mechanism for hooking a function into R such that it is was called before the ">" prompt was given, but no amount of searching in R's docs, R's source, or RSiteSearch can find it. I've searched for 'hook', 'event', 'signal',

CORRECTION: I must modify/clarify my statement about .0 releases ...
In looking through Red Hat's FTP site, I can find no such statement with regards to "do not use on production servers" in any README or Release Notes of Hurricane, Hedwig, Guinness or Psyche (Red Hat Linux 5.0, 6.0, 7 and 8.0, respectively). What I have found in my archives is a cutting from the official Red Hat Network (RHN) announcement of Psyche (8.0) that says two things: 1)

Bell Canada (Nortel DMS100) PRI Outbound CNAM issue
Hi Folks, I'm trying to send CallerID Name information out to the PSTN via a PRI with Bell Canada with no success. With inbound calls (originating from the PSTN) CNAM is received successfully, and we've not had any similar problems with other Telco PRIs, so I'm stumped.

t1 won't dial outbound
I've posted this problem a couple of times before with little or no response. Basically I have a T100P in my * box. Incoming calls are working great. However outgoing calls are not working at all. I've copied a previous post into this message which should have all the necessary info. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Mark

Best dahdi switchtype to emulate (network side)?
We are connecting a new device to our voice system, and the vendor has a whole list of "supported" network devices and associated parameters for the Telco to adjust... Yes, it's the telcos issue... Anyway, out of all of the swtich types that dahdi can emulate, what is the most complete/tunable solution? The premise for those interested is a PRI connection to a Dialogic card,

SIP busy
Hi, I would like * to treat a SIP extension as a normal extension, when it comes to the busy functionality. In other words, if someone tries to call the SIP phone and there is already an ongoing conversation, the new caller should get a busy message/tone Is there any parameter that I can set? Is this something that should be configured at my softphone? Best, PHM

Basic Answering Machine Function?
I've had my * setup installed with an X100P card for a couple of weeks and it's great fun! I'm even giving a demo to the local Linux group in a couple of days. But I have a snag. I have the X100P on a shared line, and configured to wait for 20 seconds before answering and doing the auto-attendant/voicemail dance. My problem is I can't find an application command to cancel the

Bridging INBOUND PRI to OUTBOUND PRI fails with Monitor()
I wrote a note earlier about this problem but have done quite a bit more debugging. Now I'm stuck at what to do next. I have inbound calls being answered by our Asterisk box, which then dials our answering service and bridges those calls. The inbound and outbound are both PRIs. The answering service takes our calls on a PRI. If I don't use the Monitor() application, things work find

Outbound paging dialplan example?
Due to changes at the office, I'm finally getting around to setting up an AA to deal with incoming calls. One of the big changes is that we're dropping the old alphanumeric pager and will just send pages to our phones. I've got the outbound greeting message working in a test context no problem right now, but I'm kind of stuck on how to capture a DTMF sequence from a user and

Multiple VLAN/subnet recommendations
We're using Samba in several schools. We generally have a single Samba server acting as a domain controller in each school. Until recently, this has worked very well. The number of workstations on our school networks has been steadily growing. Among other things, this has convinced us to split some school's networks into several VLANs/subnets. To add complication, the server running Samba
