faxdetect on/off on the fly?
Hello, We want the ability to choose from an AGI script whether or not to enable faxdetect for calls over SIP or DAHDI. Is this possible, or can anyone suggest a workaround? Thanks for any advice. -- David Cunningham, Voisonics http://voisonics.com/ USA: +1 213 221 1092 UK: +44 (0) 20 3298 1642 Australia: +61 (0) 2 8063 9019 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Res_fax - FAXOPT(faxdetect)
Hi, as stated in the documentation, it's allowed to set FAXOPT(faxdetect)=yes/no to allow fax detection. It's done (see below) but still fax detection :-( Extension 300 is hylafax with iaxmodem. On the upper Asterisk gw it's the same, despite the faxdetect set to no we also have the NOTICE of T.38 re-INVITE. Test is done with a mobile phone calling the 0123456789 PSTN number.

Res_fax - FAXOPT(faxdetect)
I solved the issue by not answering the call as I assume others have done. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces at lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces at lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Administrator TOOTAI Sent: Wednesday, February 18, 2015 12:50 PM To: asterisk-users at lists.digium.com Subject: Re: [asterisk-users] Res_fax - FAXOPT(faxdetect) Hello Le

faxdetect questions - Please HELP!
I'm using IAXmodem and Hylafax with 'faxdetect=incoming' and things mostly work pretty well. My main lines come in via T1 DID. Today, HR got tired of having someone read and forward their faxes to them and requested we bring their physical machine back on line. I have been able to get the fax forwarded to the appropriate zap channel, but I cannot seem to get it to stop

Clarification on DAHDI Fax Detection
Hi folks, I was hoping that someone might be able to help clarify some confusion I have on DAHDI Fax detection after spending some time searching. My understanding is this: 1.) Echo cancellation is automatically disabled upon recognition of a CNG tone, regardless of the faxdetect setting. This can only be disabled at compile time. 2.) faxdetect=incoming will, upon detection of a CNG tone,

Deactivate faxdetect on IAX channel
Hi, we have following setup: fax machines > PSTN -> GW SIP -> Asterisk -> Peer IAX (Elastix) Asterisk is 11.16 as well as Asterisk version of Elastix peer. When sending incoming fax calls to the Peer IAX -which receive them using hylafax- we want to tell our asterisk to NOT detect fax CNG. It's easy on a SIP channel as faxdetect=no can be set for the peer, but how to do it

Problems with call files (/var/spool/asterisk/outgoing)
I've seen other posts about this problem, but I haven't found a solution. I'm dumping eight call files into the "outgoing" directory at one time. Three of the calls are successful while the other five are lost. Here is the call file: Channel: Zap/g2/3036701917 MaxRetries: 1000 RetryTime: 60 WaitTime: 45 Application: TxFAX Data: <filename>.tiff|caller Note: All

Too Few Fax Detections
OK, after my last message about fax detection, I feel a bit better informed and able to press forward. I started looking into this because I was getting lots of false positive fax detection errors in the logs with faxdetect=both set in chan_dahdi.conf. Anyhow, I do not currently use fax detection, and we have a dedicated Fax DID on our PRI, so setting faxdetect=no works fine. Having said that, I

FAX CNG detected but no fax extension
Hello, I have a question regarding incoming fax to local file (on the Asterisk server). While the fax is received properly (I have the tiff file generated as expected) I get the warning 'FAX CNG detected but no fax extension' on the consol. If the fax is received ok then what 'fax extension' does it expect and what should I do there? My Setup: Sender -> Public PSTN ->

asterisk fax handeling
Hello, I was wondering if the following was possible: When somebody sends a fax to my direct number 0101234567105 (my extension will be 105) is it possible that Asterisk, or an addon sees this as a fax, and e-mail the fax to me? So everybody with a private extension will be able to receive faxes in his e-mailbox on his direct number. Any pointers would be highly appreciated! Thanks, Peter

Fax Configuration
What is the best way for me to setup Fax Capability with VOIP only. I have a Asterisk Server hosted on the internet without a modem. I'm using Flowroute, which is working awesome, for VOIP calls. I only have a SIP Phone at home and two Printer/Scanner/Fax Printers. I'm not sure which Fax Addons or Extensions I should use for Asterisk. I'd like it to Self Detect on any line. I

rxfax detection problems with multiple contexts
Hello, I have a rather odd problem with Asterisk detecting faxes. I have two POTS lines coming into the box (TDM400P). Line 1 is for voice, Line 2 is fof fax. When I set them up with channel => 1-2 in zapata.conf, all is fine, but as soon as I have two channel => definitions, Asterisk is unable to detect faxes. The fax line is not supposed to ring local phones, so the most obvious

T38 fax detection using g729
Hi, I continue the discussion from https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=19103 If T.38 reinvite detection should still work, why it doesn't? If I use faxdetect = t38 it does never detect the fax, even using alaw. Cheers, Darkbasic

ZAP/DAHDI outgoing faxdetect
What is asterisk's behavior when faxdetect=outgoing in zapapata.conf? Does it turn off echo cancellation? Does it also change the priority to "fax" in the "outgoing context"? Thanks, Vieri

Voice calls sent to fax extension
I have a situation that has repeated itself a few times. Someone calls into Asterisk and is connected with a voice extension. At some point during the call, the log shows "chan_zap.c: DTMF digit: f on Zap/2-1". At this point, the call is redirected to receive a fax and the Asterisk voice extension is hung up. The users report that there were no noticable tones heard just before the
