Hardware vs. Network Inputs
We are trying to determine how to build out an IVR system we are working on. The system needs to be able to handle probably at most 5-10 concurrent calls at peak times. Other times we are just looking for a reliable service. For incoming calls we've been using BroadVoice VOIP and before that VoicePulse VOIP. VoicePulse's IAX service started dropping DTMF inputs that we were processing

VoicePulse DTMF Problems Anyone?
We are developing an IVR application and when I am testing locally on my machine using a softphone (iaxcomm) the digits I press for GET DATA work every time. I am testing with a local extension that goes right into my routine. However when I try to call in to the system using an analog or cell phone GET DATA drops some digits that are pressed. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to which

ivr key press?
I'm testing an ivr implementation (first time) using: exten => 620,1,Wait,1 exten => 620,2,Answer exten => 620,3,DigitTimeout,5 exten => 620,4,ResponseTimeout,10 exten => 620,5,Background(npi-greeting) ; "Thanks for calling press 1 for" exten => 1,1,Goto(npi-directory,s,1) For initial testing, I've arbitrarily mapped this onto ext 620 (will change that later

Incoming SIP calls not being sent to "s" extension
I was troubleshooting a problem with incoming calls to my VoicePulse Open Access (NOT Connect) numbers not coming in and I noticed the following in the SIP debug... >Found peer 'roamer1-vpoa' >Looking for s00****** in ivr-incoming Why are the calls getting sent to this weird "s00******" extension and not the usual "s" extension in context ivr-incoming as they

IAX2 DTMF not recognized - Bug report - Help sought
I have working SIP numbers with broadvoice, and just added a DID from http://connect.voicepulse.com/ . The calls answer, but DTMF is not recognized. With "iax2 debug" active pressing DTMF does nothing. Zilch. Zero. A friend tried a different IAX2 connection, and got the same results. ISO Suggestions for Multiple Inbound Voicepulse Lines
I'm looking to set up multiple inbound Voicepulse Connect lines and have Asterisk route them direct to different IVR or Voicemail based on the inbound number that is called. Unfortunately, I just can't see how one would go about identifying the number that is being called. Has anyone been able to do something like this with Voicepulse? I appreciate any assistance. Phil

Asterisk retains DTMF Control Even when an External IVR System is dialed
I am using Asterisk 1.06 Stable. When I dial my Mobile Number to check Voice Mail or my Bank Account Phone Access Number, the IVR System on the other end asks me to enter *2378 to transfer to an attendant. But When I press *2378, Asterisk tells me that it cannot transfer the calls and gives an error on CLI saying Extension '' does not exist in the dial plan. What is the trick to make

X101P + TDM400P
I thought I'd share my Asterisk experience, which hasn't exactly been as pleasant as I would like but now seems usable in most ways and more then I expected in other ways. I wanted a home PBX system, that would let me treat different callers different ways depending on CID. I initially bought the Digium developer's kit to try things out. That's a single port TDM400 and a X101P.

Vonage to IAX DID to IVR => Poor DTMF
I have an IVR application that works fine from multiple DID sources, unless the call to that DID was from a Vonage service user. In this case about half the DTMF tones never get recognized by Asterisk. Has anyone else seen this? Suggestions? I'm running 1.0.9.

Auto-attendant with an IP trunk
Hi: I am trying to setup a simple auto attendant with Asterisk using SIP extensions. I have an IP trunk to voicepulse and my outgoing calls go over that. I can also receive calls on that voicepulse trunk and want it to an auto attendant. Everything works except on the following: - one of the options is to allow the caller to press the extension that they would like to be connected to. I have

MeetMe incorrectly reading key presses
Hi We have a few conference numbers and all use MeetMe using the D option. We have noticed sometimes that the server is picking up more key presses than were actually done, i.e. the user presses 1234 for the pin and in the logs we see something like Created MeetMe conference 1022 for conference '12234' or Created MeetMe conference 1022 for conference '112334' Has anyone else

IAX2 DTMF Problem
Hey all, I am dialing a DID through VoicePulse Connect. The number is answered by a main menu type of IVR. The configuration is as specified in both the wiki and VoicePulses documentation. The call comes through without a problem, but when the caller enter any keys they are either not recieved by * or they are ignored. With SIP I would typically put a dtmfmode= line under the peer and

VoicePulse Connect DTMF with IAX2
Is there anyone out there who has VoicePulse Connect working with DTMF? I've been unable to get it to work from the start, and the recent VoicePulse updates did not help. A caller to my DID's hears Asterisk, but pressing DTMF does nothing: On call setup "iax2 debug" shows: ----------------- Tx-Frame Retry[-01] -- OSeqno: 001 ISeqno: 002 Type: IAX Subclass: ACK

Silent IAX calls getting cut off
Hi. I'm new here so I hope this is a sensible question/sensible place for it. I have a PSTN to IAX phone number with voipuser.org that I'm using to test an IVR service. The only trouble is that after approximately 40 seconds of silence (e.g. after background playback of a menu prompt) the call gets cut off. Is this a common problem? I've already set the ResponseTimeout to a big

I have tried different telephones... It just repeats menu options over and over.... I have to call back and then it works again for another few mins... Any ideas... iax.conf? issue? Thanks, J.C.

How to retrieve a phone number from call forwarding?
Hi, I'm very new to Asterisk and I have the following scenario. 1. Let's say I have a number of 1-222-222-2222 from my SIP service provider (VoicePulse). 2. I point my phone, Verizon wireless cellphone (1-111-111-1111), voicemail to the number provided by SIP service provider (1-222-222-2222). 3. I use another phone (1-333-333-333) to call 1-111-111-1111 and leave a voicemail message.

Asterisk retains DTMF Control Even whenan External IVR System is dialed
Eric Wrote: ----------- The trick is not to use options you don't understand. "show application dial" will show you what the t and T options are for. Most people use the transfer feature of their phone, rather than using the T/t hack on the Dial line. Sounds like you are using CVS-HEAD and so will have to configure stuff in /etc/asterisk/features.conf. /Snip/ Eric, Thanks for

A Way to Write DTMF Digits as text to CDR?
I've gotten my CDR working the way I like, but I am looking to customize it a bit. I have set up an IVR menu, which works great. I would like to be able to capture the prompted DTMF digits pressed by callers, to my CDR database but I don't see any AGI or Asterisk commands that allow one to customize the CDR contents. Am I thinking about this on the wrong track? If someone calls sales
