SIP Authentication problem between Cisco router and Asterisk when calls are forwarded
We are using a Cisco router with a T1 card plugged into a PRI provided
by a local telco (Allstream).
This Cisco accepts calls and sends them to a couple of servers running
Asterisk depending on which number was dialled.
But there is a problem.
When a call comes in to the Cisco from the PSTN it sends it to the
Asterisk server something like this:
FROM: 204XXXXXXX@<CISCO IP>

Phantom (ghost) Calls with Wildcard TDM400P
We have a client that has a single Wildcard TDM400P with 3 FXO ports on
Asterisk 1.0.7.
Occasionally the system seems to loose its mind and starts originating
calls from that Zap channels that don't exist. The receptionist picks up
the phone and nobody is there. This can happen repeatedly over and over
again within a few minutes.
As far as we can tell these are definitely not real calls as

Followme() and variables
We have a variable set for each user/peer/whatnot that signals what the
outbound caller-id should be sent as with our carrier.
When someone dials a followme extension, this does not appear to be carried
over for when the calls reach an outside caller, and we see the outbound
caller-id being set as 'asterisk' vs the number desired.
Has anyone else seen this, or found a way to

Interrupting voicemail with "*", dropping to "a" extension. Does it work?
I've played around with the lightly documented Asterisk voicemail
feature whereby a caller can press "*" during the playback of the OGM
and be returned to the "a" extension in the context of the voicemail
box.
No matter what, Asterisk does nothing when you press "*". It does not
interrupt the OGM and it certainly does not return to the "a" context.

A new snapshot
Hi,
I have released a new snapshot of GnuPG, I hope this is one of the
last ones before 1.0.2 ;-)
This is still a BETA VERSION and not intended for general use.

The usual diff file is also available, but this time there is only a
detached signature for this diff file, because I noticed to late that

I'm a 1.2 Luddite so I don't have all these fancy new features :)
A different solution to a similar problem.
I had problems with abusive callers in my conferences. I whipped up some
dialplan and AGI mojo to let an admin mute and unmute individual

dying network drive connections with Windows 2000 Pro/Samba 3.0.7
Hi
I'm experiencing trouble with a Samba 3.0.7 installation and Windows
2000 Professional clients that lose their network drives after some
time.
The Samba server is acting as a Domain Controller for a single subnet
with about 10 clients (W2k Pro with Service Pack 2-4). At some (random)
time after the login the clients all have the same problem: the network
drive mappings die (sometimes a

GPG 1.0.3 doesn't detect modifications to files with multiple signatures
Hi!
Jim is right. There is a bug in all GnuPG versions up to 1.0.3:
If you have more than one cleartext signature in a file (or pipe
that to gpg), gpg does not compare each signature but flags each
document as good or bad depending on the first document in the file.
This is a very serious bug in gpg's verification function.
I have made a snapshot version which corrects this bug available

RPC_S_PROCNUM_OUT_OF_RANGE
Hi,
I had a linux server installed with samba 3.0.9-2.6
(SuSE 9.1) and a samba shared folder among 12 PC under
WinXP/Win7.
The linux server has been replaced by a new one a week
ago. The new machine runs samba 3.5.4-5.1.2x86-64
with the same shared folder and the same smb.conf
file.
Till then, when the PCs try to connect to the samba
share via explorer a window opens with

Ok, I just wasn't sure because it's more of an 802.3Q/Routing issue rather
than an * issue, but if everyone's cool with it I sure will... I'm not the
