outlook express intregation
All of the stuff I've googled for and read on wiki all relate to "Outlook".
Has anyone been successful in getting "Outlook Express" to do click to dial?

Asterisk's MultiProcessor Ability
We have asterisk running on a quad processor dell. The kernel has been
compiled with SMP.
However, asterisk seems to only use 1 processor. 3 of the 4 always stay at
100% idle.
Is it pointless to have a multi-proc machine? I was going to buy a new dual
3.6Ghz Xeon server but if nothing will take advantage of the other proc...
Perhaps my conception of multi-proc/threaded is warped. If asterisk is

zt_rbs errors!?! never seen before.
I'm trying to determine if this is a zaptel issue or a sangoma issue. When I
start our server, it gets to the point where it says "starting wanrouter"
(thats the sangoma drivers) and it just hangs there. Nothing happens. Can't
even use console.
I unplugged the 4 PRI lines and rebooted. This time machine comes up. I
logged in. While logged in, I plug the 4 spans back in. I try a

G729 and XTen Pro
Anyone used the combination above? We are and it sounds like crap. The audio
drops out in regular intervals which suggests that someone's g729 isn't
doing its job correctly.
I'm blameing XTen cause when I make a ulaw call that gets converted to 729
using digium's 729, calls sound fine.
Anyone else? Similar experiences?

compiling new module; conflicting function
I posted this to the -dev list and have recieved no reponse so I'm gonna try
the -users list.
I'm trying to bring ast-ax-snmp up to date with current CVS. It's a
small patch against chan_zap and pbx, but also has a loadable module
component. That module is compiled against some NET-SNMPD
headers/libraries. But net-snmpd also has module support and they have
a function called

Asterisk Crashing; Not getting Core dumps
This is frustrating. Asterisk has crashed now twice today and neither crash
has produced a core file. My ulimit is unlimited.
I'm using safe_asterisk so asterisk is restarting immediatly, but how the
hell am I suposed to find out wtf happened with no core file? Debug log
doesn't say anything either.

Sip Phone CID
This might sound like an odd question.... but here it is anyways...
We currently have Polycom 501 phones. We have Asterisk with
Realtime/MySQL running for our SIP/Voicemail/Extensions. When one phone
dials another, the receiving end does in fact see the callers ID. But...
our old phone system set the caller id on the senders phone to show who
they called.
Example...
If Sally calls Jim, then

Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel problem
Hello,
I've tried to analyze some data with a CMH test. My 3 dimensional contingency
tables are 2x2xN where N is usually between 10 and 100.
The problem is that there may be 2 strata with opposite counts (the 2x2
contigency table for these are reversed), producing opposite odds ratios that
cancle out in the overall statistics. These opposite counts are very
important for my analysis, since

Attended transfer not working (atxfer)
While on conversation with another party, I dial the atxfer key
sequence. Asterisk says "Transfer" then gives you a dial tone, while put
the other party on hold music. I dial the transferee number and talk
with the transferee, then I hang up and the other party must be
connected with the transferee.
But this doesn't work the transferee hears a beep. -- Playing 'beep'

New native assisted transfer (atxfer) usage info required
Hi, I would like to use the new atxfer (native assisted transfer, see
mantis item #3241) , but I've partially been able to
make it work.
I can receive a call and then having the caller hear MOH while talking
with another extension (the one I want to transfer to), but then I can't
make the caller and the trasferred talk hanging up or pressing any key
combination I'm aware of.

live audio feed via telephone link
I'm looking into costs and feasibility of moving a live feed from a FM radio
station from the station to a point that's past the usable range of their radio
signal. It's a rural location and Internet service is not available at the
station. If the destination was closer or their transmitter was more powerful,
I could avoid this step and just plug in a radio, but....
My best idea so

Asterisk running on DMZ (no NAT) PROBLEMS- OPTION message is out of State
Hello,
Currenly I've ASterik@Home 1.5 running on DMZ. I can register SJphone
there, good audio on 8200 (webmeet me calls) and i also can dial

Attended Transfer
Dear List,
I've been working with Asterisk CVS-v1-0-09 and i'm trying to enable
attended transfer feature. but i just can't do it work. I've already
set "atxfer = *" (and many other combinations) and all extensions on
extensions.conf have the t and T option. But when I'm going to test,
it doesn't work. Is there any other file that i have to configure in

Data reshaping with conditions
Hi sri,
As your problem involves a few logical steps, I found it easier to
approach it in a stepwise way. Perhaps there are more elegant ways to
accomplish this.

Combining the components of a character vector
Dear Help,
Suppose I have a character vector.
x <- c("Bob", "loves", "Sally")
I want to combine it into a single string: "Bob loves Sally" .
paste(x) yields:
paste(x)
[1] "Bob" "loves" "Sally"
The following function combines the character vector into a string in the
way that I want, but it seems somewhat inelegant.
